I believe Dallas is around 5-5.5 hours away.
 
Every child needs a loving uncle like Jose! It is a tragedy Sofia has to grow up without her mother, but I imagine she will grow into a woman who would make her mother proud.

Grieving uncle finally gets to hold Baby Sofia

Before his niece Sofia was born, Jose Abarca bought a crib for her and helped assemble it.

Abarca, 32, was so excited that his younger sister was giving birth that he slept on the hospital floor while waiting. He wasn’t going to miss it.

His sister, Laura Abarca-Nogueda – “Laurita” is what he called her – was in labor for 22 hours. She went into labor on Nov. 10.

In an interview Wednesday, Abarca sobbed deeply as he talked about how it felt to finally hold the baby.

“It felt like I had my sister with me, that she was still there ... that she was not completely gone.

“I know her name is Sofia, but I told everybody her name for me is going to be Laurita.”

His love and grief for his sister is heartbreaking. Such a godsend for baby Sofia.

Every woman needs a brother like Jose and every little girl needs an Uncle like Sofia has and hopefully for a long time.

My heart hurts for this family.

Of course, when the governor gets involved, she'll be back to face the court system in both cases. I doubt she has a snowball's chance in Hades of getting out of either set of chgs. Too bad Kansas will have to house and feed her for the next 40 years!

Now 2 children will grow up without a mother. Imho...one might be better off. She has had to hand him off to someone every time she is arrested

John Wayne and his second wife didn't have any kids. Years later John said it was because she was too evil to have kids! I think we could certainly say that about this awful woman.
And, yes, her son,(I wonder if she stole him from somebody)? Will most definitely be better off without the influence of her.

Yesenia Sesmas, also known as Patricia Hernandez, is accused of killing Laura Abarca-Nogueda. Sesmas was brought back to Wichita, KS on Feb 1, 2017 from Texas, by Sedgwick County Sheriff. Sesmas lived in Texas and came to Wichita to specifically get Laura Abarca-Nogueda newborn baby. Sesmas is an illegal undocumented immigrant.

Yesesnia Sesmas is charged in two cases. The first one occurred July 2016 when Sesmas tried to tie up two young children and a pregnant adult. The two young girls and pregnant adult, the girls mother fought back. One of the girls was able to call police.

Sesmas was charged in this case with: attempted kidnapping, 2 counts of aggravated battery, robbery and theft. She was able to post bond shortly after her arrest. Bond was set at $200,000.00. Sedgwick County does not honor ICE requests to hold illegal immigrants, that is the reason Sesmas was allowed to 'walk' after posting bond. Sesmas missed her court date and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

The next case was in November 2016 when Sesmas killed a new mother, Laura, Abarca-Nogueda. In this case Sesmas was charged with: 1st Degree Murder, kidnapping, interference with parental custody. The baby was found with Sesmas in Texas and returned to her family. Bond is set at 2 million.

Next court date for Sesmas is Feb 16, 2017 for arraignment.

above are links to the news channels in Wichita, KS that reported on the court hearing involving the murder of Laura Abaraca and kidnapping of her baby Sophia.

Documents reveal a lot about what the LE found in the apartment of Laura Abaraca and her cell which had calls to YS. There was a video cam which gave LE some more info. With this video LE was able to identify a truck and it led to YS. YS purchased a $450.00 semi automatic which was the murder weapon.

YS was pregnant at one time and had a miscarriage but was able to pretend to her family and friends she was still pregnant. YS confronted Laura Abaraca to give up her newborn baby, when Laura would not, YS murdered her with a shot to the head.

YS presented the baby to her boyfriend as 'her baby' and was going to take the baby to Mexico and raise her as her own before she was taken into custody.
