I know this girl. Well not her, but her type. She isn't going to say anything voluntarily. She can't see that far into the future, and telling does not benefit her that she can see. She will pull as many stunts as she can to get what she wants, and she will keep control by not telling where Lucas is. Plus by now, she probably already believes her own lies. She has to, that's how she survives. That's how she is. jmo

Here's the thing: Emily has no incentive to talk whatsoever. There are no charges pending against her related to Lucas. The charge of neglect for her daughter has a max 1 year sentence (I read that in this thread somewhere). If they put the same charge against her regarding Lucas, she *might* do 2 years.

She's already lost any hope of ever regaining custody of her boys. The judge made it clear to her what would happen if she used drugs. She'll be lucky to get supervised visits with them.

If she confesses to anything about Lucas, then she'll lose her daughter for good too (she may already be).

If she keeps her mouth shut and does her time, she'll be out of jail in a couple of years at most. 1-2 years vs life in prison? Pretty obvious choice!

Imo there are many variables here.

1. Depends on how strong EG ACTUALLY IS. And maybe how mentally ill she is.

2. Is she staying silent and following attorneys advice?

3. It takes but one slip up to give LE a subtle clue.

4. I hate stating this, but it also depends on where Lucas may be. If in a landfill the more likely she is pretty confident he will not be found or if he is, the COD MAY not be determined. After 5 weeks it might be sad but nature takes its course and evidence degrades. ( this is tough my grandson is close to this age).

5. I am pretty sure by now LE knows where and who she purchases her drugs.

6. I am still very uncertain about the accuracy of the timeline we are considering mostly due to LE silence. But I certainly respect their strategy and confidentiality.

7. EG, or so it appears, may not have lived or had a good pleasant nurturing atmosphere for her children or even herself. The situation in its entirety looks like a fluid checkerboard of moving relationships, very questionable characters and selfish behavior. Living in her current relationship is probably the best she’s ever had in her young life.

8. Most of the time there was no one around to check her behavior. EG probabably hiD much more than we know. WE don’t know if she’s been caught on video anywhere.

9. We also don’t have details about tracking her cell or the vehicle(s) they own or had access to.

10. I also appreciate the newly suggested/questioned fidelity OF EG. 3 kids while complaining of endometriosis is pretty positive results when it’s supposed to be difficult to become pregnant if diagnosis correct. Also She’s been pregnant for 27 if the last 96 months since high school. That alone is significant hormones which at times makes us crazy or at least it did me.

11. Nothing suggested it priven re EG WIULD SURPRISE ME AT THIS POINT.

12. LE members are trained and very intelligent. I have no doubt they will find him, the question is when. EG May believe she’s outsmarted everyon, but LE IS RARELY WRONG, and nothing indicated she is overly intelligent. Decieptful yes, an addict probably, questionable lifestyle for kids definitely, able to fool those close to her yes, but I do t see her getting away with this much after her April hearing date.

When a person is living a certain life style it can be difficult to change. You can only change if you are willing to look at certain aspects of your life. If you are not willing to look at your self and not blame others then you will never change. I speak from experience I had to change myself and the way I reacted to others. jmo

YOU did very well and it’s admirable you recognized you neeeded change and were strong enough to accomplish it.

I had a firced change after a 35 year marriage fell apart so I know exactly how difficult it is to really take a long hard look at yourself and make positive changes. You’re the best. NEVER FORGET THAT AND KEEP MAKING GOOD CHOICES FOR YOURSELF.

Does anyone have court records to post here if allowable. They are free at courthouse but I hate registering and paying for records. My credit card was hacked and charged almost $10 k a couple months ago. Caught by bank but it’s been a mess to find the hacker. $5,999.09 was for fuel in Long Beach ca. So now I’m extremely cautious to use new cards.

Thanks, It is hard to admit when you are the one that needs to change. Then to go through the steps to do it, it takes a ton of work. It is possible just always remember that. I feel like I just read some sort of exquisite poetry. I like it, but I can't competely follow what each message is up there at the top. I'm sure I agree though, just because nothing seemed obviously against my impressions. But again, not confident I understand what I'm agreeing to, fully. Care to say it again using the "for Dummies" approach? I really want to know what's happening all up there in the first half.

On first pass of LH missing topic has been like a river- moves quick at the surface but eddies in threads belied things unseen below. Does not feel like I am 'close' to finding out the truth of EG's life & times but whole MO first suspected simply didn't hold up under closer scrutiny of 'what was written' BEFORE LH was called in 'gone'. Dual lifestyle (soccer mom/party girl) seemed a likely place to start- EG one of those? Doesn't fit under scrutiny, huge pattern of interventions and friends trying to salvage relationship (image of the soccer mom anyways).

In this decade, have had the unfortunate experience of being at the epicenter of Derick Almena's eternal crisis- '3 ring circus'- that could only occur with a personality bent on personal pipe dreams at the tremendous cost of everyone else around him.
By the time things became evident for those closest to him, it was always time to just cut the tie, distance & move on from the bs (though tragically some NEVER will). Many have a hard time reconciling the reality from the 'Derick experience' (love light magic crap).
Our local agencies went so far as to enable his madness and have been more than happy with current situation of impending prison (never have to look at the personal disaster again).


Not sure what I am allowed to present, vs what is 'too much' so erring on the side of simple.

My thoughts are that they are holding onto what they have, and hoping his remains are found to put everything together. This evidence will be held until the next hearing, or if she finds someone to bond her out. If she does find someone to bond her out, she will be arrested on the charge they have in their pocket, thus losing the bond money put forward. Lose=Lose situation. After that? Depends on what LE has as evidence against her in the disappearance of Lucas.

Thank you for this post. I have too been wondering what evidence they have and hoping they have enough to put her away for a long time!! How much evidence could they realistically have in their pocket and still wait til the next hearing? Could they have all the evidence they need to convict her, just not the body, and they just haven’t shared it, hoping to find poor little Lucas’ body first?

I guess I’m just trying to say that’s what I hope. I hope they have a lot of evidence and are just keeping it close to the vest. Hoping and praying little Lucas is found soon, preferably today

Everyone is selling something, it is said. We present our best, first.

Bones- who has wronged her? Not now... Before. There's a deep theme.
Everything she seems to be on the surface, is one-upmanship to 'Them'.
This jars us, because the reflection cast is hollow, devoid of life, and ultimately an odd image of what appears to be power/success/triumph to EG ('living well is the best revenge' common sentiment in positive culture).

Many are caught up in the EG drugs theme... she kept her sides separate but not well enough. Had just enough money to afford some breathing room, but not contain constant issues; the rest was perception control.
Somehow it paid to keep loadies about- it's not the substance but the effects. Mental state stratosphere is easy to skate through if one is used to 'playing along'; induced mindsets may be manipulated more easily than clear thinking.

I wonder the same. And I wonder if there may have been a drug debt owed to someone and if that someone may have taken Lucas? Just my thoughts, my opinion, even though I doubt it highly. I just want him found alive so my brain is searching for alternate possibilities.

We don’t actually know what LE has as physical evidence and/or circumstantial evidence. She hasn’t been under this type of questioning, for any length of time, because remember, she chose to remain silent and requested a lawyer in the beginning. She waited till the last hour and had to obtain a court appointed. So really, in essence she hasn’t had to withstand hours of questioning and trying to tell her story forwards and backwards-rigorous lying, getting caught up, withstanding the pressure. She could get little time like you mentioned, but I’m hoping for the ace in the pocket by detectives and DA.
