All I could think of was pine needles or a leaf. Another poster not quoted above had a very long list of other possibilities too. I'll go back and ETA here to bring that forward.

Great!

What would be there that wouldn't be in a regular garden?

Duck feathers? Birds in the lake there?

Need to review the info on their websites more...

Margarita, you are always so helpful and intuitive. I love reading your posts. But this is brilliant to me. What do those specific parks have that other unsearched parks don't? Can't be sheer proximity so what is it? Figure that out.
Do they all have sod?
There has to be something that is similar regarding the landscaping.
A certain type of sand or dirt with mica in it?
A certain type of granite gravel?

ETA Found it. Some really good out of the box ideas from steelslady

Thank you, MissMalowe and steelslady! :) Good stuff. :)

I found it very odd that the parents of the SM made a statement regarding Lucas missing. Why have we not heard one peep out of SM herself?

This is very telling to me that she hasn’t said one word. Is she afraid she can’t keep up her facade in front of reporters yelling questions at her? She could always give them a written statement like the bio parents are doing.

I thought it seemed very telling, but since no one else mentioned it being odd (that I can recall) until you just now, I thought perhaps it wasn't as weird as I originally thought due to my having less experience than a lot of posters here regarding missing cases.

How often do the parents of live-ins or step-parents make statements instead of the live-ins or step-parents themselves? Any seasoned members here have some insight to that?

Flora & Fauna
http://gpnc.org/flora-fauna/

"At the crossroads of the continent, the Great Plains partakes of many influences. The desert of the American southwest contributes drought-adapted plants. The easterndeciduous forest sends woodland species out from its margins to try their luck amongst the grasses. The northeastern third felt the crush of the Pleistocene glaciers, which left behind some near-Arctic species when they retreated. Drought and flood, extremes of heat and cold, fire and the hand of man are constantly reshaping the area."

They can't be going by phone pings/gps otherwise just one park would have been searched, right?

Unless someone cased out/drove around to several parks before deciding on one?

"The variety of habitats and climate provides opportunities for a wide variety of animals and plants. In Kansas alone there have been recorded:

87 species of mammals 457 species of birds 67 species of snakes, lizards and turtles32 species of amphibians142 species of fish~ 20,000 species of invertebrate animals including over 15,000 species of*mnsects 46 species of*unionid mussels~ 200 species of woody plantsover 800 species of non-woody flowering plants~ 150 species of grasses"

Whomever said maybe the baby said something about a park could be on to something. They are searching parks for a reason. Maybe the gardening was to be able to explain away the memories of something being dug up. I hate writing that.

It's got to be something that's not just unfamiliar around her home. It's something ONLY those parks searched have that other parks don't. What makes those parks different from the rest?
And I get what people are saying about witch hunts and I hope to God I'm never on the receiving end of one as thin skinned as I am...but I would gladly take the trolls and put my crying face out there to personalize my child and make every single person view and analyze me. Just like we do here....the more media, the more exposure, the more people talk and search. I'd gladly give people fodder to talk about even if I was the crazy $#&+$" because if people were talking about me, they'd be talking about my child!
Is she holed up in the home? Has no one caught a glimpse of her? Why not? Why no photos of the house? I don't think I've EVER seen a missing child case where they didn't at least have photos of the place last seen or the caregivers name. Can anyone recall one? I just remember media everywhere in Sherins case, in Mariah's case, in Kyrons case and on and on. Literally news vans in front of their homes. It's just strange to me.

NEWS ALERT.... i just FEEL in my GUT... this baby is alive..... someone is keeping him SAFE.... i just PRAY i'm right.... PRAY PEOPLE PRAY
