I remember an ooooooold post by oceanblueeyes, iirc, about how mom's will often wrap the child in a blanket...

Can we take cases where females were involved in a similar case and list the disposal sites for reference? I'd like to ake a look at their patterns (if any), distances, methods, etc. Tia for your input.

Eta (I thought I read recently that they use land more commonly as opposed to water? Maybe I imagined that....)

Nope, water - womb like.

Police still in the area of the pond that has been mentioned. I did not see LE out walking around the perimeter of the pond though.

Driving by Harrison Park next.

Which pond specifically? Tia.

Please don't feel ganged up upon. I hope you did not think I was ganging up on you.

I know that many people feel the way you do about CPS. Many people have been failed and it has ended in disastrous and deadly tragedies. I am not trying to be dismissive of that horror.

I was just trying to explain that the individual social workers are not always the ones to blame in these tragedies. I am sure there are lazy or incompetent ones and it is disastrous to come into contact with them in that situation.

And I am so sorry to learn about the horrible, tragic loss your family endured. :rose: I cannot imagine how I would feel about social workers either.

:grouphug: Thank you, Katy. I understand.

Maybe somebody told somebody, say a friend, that Lucas is "in a park", but didn't divulge which one specifically...

You guys rock explaining the issue with divers. I forgot some states have weather....where I live it's sunny and 70 all year round (ugh).
Thanks!

(I'm so jealous...)

To answer your first point— No, not all of these lakes are out in the open. The first area searched (Great Plains Nature Center) is actually very secluded in areas. It is a “wetland” park. So water is very accessible throughout the entire park. There is plenty of wooded areas as well.

Second— the species of plants are relatively the same across town. But like I mentioned previously, Great Plains focuses on wetland wildlife which you won’t find in your back yard.

Also, who said Wichita is cold?! :) I have been pregnant during our summers where it isn’t unusual to have weeks of 110+ temps! I wish I lived in a cold area!! Hah!

"Wetland wildlife"...

Maybe the tip was from someone who spoke to stepmom and remembered her saying something about the park, but didn't have specifics, as conversations with neighbors or shop clerks, etc. are usually just passing comments.
Speculation, brainstorming, not fact.

Yes, was thinking along the same lines...

(((Hugs))) AnaPisces from another Pisces.
There are good and bad in this world. Just as there are good and bad girlfriends/stepmothers.

Thank you Lisa. Absolutely. (Happy birthday btw - for whichever date yours falls on!) (Mine is today, (2/21) it looks as if my birthday wish for Lucas to be found has not come true just yet)

You would care if LE warned you beforehand that revealing your identity would open you up to crazies of all sorts, people rummaging in your trash looking for "evidence", people tracking down your social media to leave nasty comments and worst of all "psychics" who for the low, low price of $1000.00 will tell you some random, unverifiable "vision" they had of your child.

IMO, the parents don't need to reveal themselves to get the word out. Showing their faces on TV pleading for the return of Lucas will not get them anymore exposure then what they've already gotten. I think they are playing it smart and not only protecting themselves but also protecting the other children in the picture. Let's not forget, there is still a 9 yo, a 7 yo and a 1 yo they have to worry about.

I doubt that LE would ever tell a parent that^^^ was what was going to happen. In the majority of cases I have seen, LE asks the parents to make a plea on TV for the child's safe return. I have never seen a case where LE would advise the parents to remain anonymous.

I disagree that showing their faces would not gain them more exposure. I think more people would realize they knew of Lucas, if they saw his parents, and then they would place them as a family from their school or neighborhood or the local park. It would give more context to the situation, imo.

"HB" There is always hope!!! Mine is 2/24.

"The New Mexico Children, Youth, and Families Department told ABC News that its cases are confidential and did not confirm whether it has an open case involving Lucas.

The Kansas Department for Children and Families, of which Child Protective Services is a part, said it couldn't share any information on its cases either but expressed worry for Lucas.

“We share the public’s concern regarding Lucas Hernandez," Theresa Freed, communications director for Kansas DCF, said in a statement to ABC News. "In the event the agency has information, we will share it with law enforcement, assisting them as requested.”"

It is hard to understand why someone would worry about being anonymous, if their precious 5 yr old was missing. I wouldn't care about anything else but finding my child. Who cares if the public knew my name? I think it is very, very odd.
Oh, I agree. ...and it was just a guess.

Could this be to do with the custody arrangement? I'm probably way off but it got me thinking of William Tyrrell. Both his parents remained anonymous for some time due to their arrangement I think (I'm tired/might not be thinking straight).

Great catch! That’s a very curious detail. I’ve been lurking here for a little while in a few threads, but this is my first post. Y’all are a lovely little internet community! Keep up the great work!

Welcome Texasbean )

:welcome5:

There doesn't have to be anything unique to any park that they found on shoes or whatever. They were led to their search by a tip from the tip line. I quoted and linked in a previous post earlier this evening.

Oh shoot, somehow I missed this!! Sorry for the Kansas botany lesson lol.

.... ok... i've sit back reading , reading and more reading.... there is something that's got me thinking....i saw/read where the relatives were suspecting abuse... and it had been reported and feel nothing was done.... here in the panhandle of FLORIDA we had a case about five years ago.... where this child was missing..... searched three days.... and found her under the bed of a friends house in a container..... the relative was tired of nothing being done... I SURE HOPE WE HAVE A HAPPY ENDING.... something is stopping LE from calling out to the public to help search... please help me with this.... what time did she lay down for the nap... went missing at 3pm ... not reported till 6pm.... how do we know 3pm is when he went missing.. i thought she was sleeping till 6pm... am i missing something.... i sure hope we have a concerned relative/friend... taking care of LUCAS.... i don't see how he could survive out in the cold... by himself... with the temps like they are....
I'm from the Fl panhandle. Do you recall the year?
ETA Never mind I found the info after scrolling down further. I do remember!

I found it very odd that the parents of the SM made a statement regarding Lucas missing. Why have we not heard one peep out of SM herself?

This is very telling to me that she hasn’t said one word. Is she afraid she can’t keep up her facade in front of reporters yelling questions at her? She could always give them a written statement like the bio parents are doing.

I don't know if you followed it but do you remember how Laura Wallen's boyfriend messed up in the presser that they set up especially to see how he reacted. I mean, wow, LE & the family did such an awesome job at making it look like they were united. No no no, they got him. Maybe she knows she just couldn't quite do the level of acting that she needs.

The way that was explained to me by the Aussies in that thread was that there is a legal 'block' preventing the press from discussing foster families/birth families by name. It is not allowed. From what I understand anyway--I could be wrong though...

Thanks, are you saying they do use water or don't use water because of this womb concept (generally...)...? Tia, MsF :)

Yes, women are more likely to put children in water, wrap them in blankets, leave something the child is attached to.... things like that which are "motherly."

Not sure how that translates if the child is terrified of water?

I have seen pictures of Lucas fishing on the edge of the water, fish clearly in the water. So I know he would get CLOSE to the water. I would probably search the ponds for that reason, there are fish in them.

Normally I would agree with you. However I think Lucas is such a unique little dude that people will remember him far more than his other family members.

These eyes. The smile. They are both so unique.
I would remember if I had met this child. Or seen him.
I just wish somebody had scooped him up and kept him safe.
I so hope that is what has happened... Lucas needs a miracle.

Ah yes, now you mention it, I think I heard the same thing. I can't join William's thread because, I just got too sucked in reading it elsewhere. It effected me too much.
