yeah... and he would not be needing his civies where he was going either.

another thought: I wonder if he will get bail set today? And if so who will bond him out?

I have heard (rumor) that the bond is ONE MILLION DOLLARS. Anyone (IMO) that would put up bail for him, should have their head examined.

Atchison County Attorney Gerald Kuckelman Jr. has told the media the investigation is in its final stages. Authorities have spent several weeks reviewing lab results and evidence collected at Hollister's farmstead. He spent several hours last week during an inquisition, taking testimony from two key witnesses in the case. He had plans to interview more witnesses this week.

Kuckelman did not name suspects in what could be a possible homicide, but indicated an arrest may come soon.

Hollister to Face Judge on Attempted Murder Charge
Friday, Mar 5th @ 12:35 p.m. CST

A northeast Kansas man charged with the attempted murder of his wife is expected to face a judge this afternoon.

Roger Hollister will appear in Brown County Court at 2 o'clock today.

He is charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery for the crash that injured him and his wife, Rebecca, a week ago today.
---
Hollister is being held in the Atchison County Law Enforcement Center. He was transfered there Thursday because the jail is better equipped to handle his medical needs.*

KQ2 has a reporter at the courthouse, stay tuned to www.stjoechannel.com for the latest.

and more, at

*this detail seems to have changed slightly; I still think he's in Atchison County to answer more questions on the Kimmi case

From your lips to God's ears....
So many lives are over or ruined or broken due to the action requested by one man.
No names given as he has not been named a poi.
But we all know who it is. X

Yes, Roger Hollister and maybe even his wife are guilty of Patricia's abduction and cover up, but it started with one person.
And I pray that he is arrested and found guilty.

IMO.
IMO.

Not that I particulary care about whether RH is cold or not, did anyone think it odd he was walked into the police car in his hospital gown? Was his arrest that urgent? Where were his clothes??

Don't you suppose they were considering his "aches and pains" and didn't want to "torture" him by having to change his clothes twice . . . . . once to leave the hospital and again to put on his new atire of black and white stripes or an orange jumpsuit at the jail?!?!! :woohoo:

I'd never seen it happen before. Perp walks are, though, a chance for LE to demonstrate to the alleged perpetrator his utter helplessness (and hopelessness) via public humiliation; it doesn't get much more humiliating, I would think, than being paraded before cameras in your hospital gown

Or a good way to demonstrate he is no longer a threat it is safe to come forward with what ever information you may have that might help.

As for the ex. It is my hope that he did not have anything to do with this as it would be best for the Kimmi kids. I don't think he is directly involed with Pat's abduction nor do i think Mrs. RH was (for resons I can not say). However there is the big question how did he get her to open the door and I don't think he was physically capable of abducting Pat by himself and it worries me that there might be another evil psyco running around free in the community.

I agree that I really hope the x was not involved for the kids sake. Unfortunately I do think he was involved.

I don't know what to think about RH. If she wasn't involved then I don't know how they/he lured Pat out either.

I don't think we have to worry about another psycho. I truly believe law enforcement know what happened and who all was involved. I also think at this point that Mrs. RH will tell all if she hasn't already. I hope I'm right.

I hate being a lookie-loo, but i took my dog for a walk by the courthouse at 2 wanting to either 1.) get my dog to make a present for RH to step in, (no luck) or 2.) catch a glimpse of RH (no luck there either)

lots of sheriff's cars and troopers and a couple of news vehicles though

Maybe........the police took his clothes from the hospital as some kind of evidence re the crash.....and nobody had brought him any new ones to change into? Just a thought...

I bet you're right. i'm thinking he probably doesn't have many friends that are willing to bring him clothing now.

bbm; I agree insomuch as what we know so far. I mean what would be the motive for RoH to do this on his own? What would his 'motive' be?

Mommy, you sure could be on the right track! I was being catty with my original post. :cat:

There was probably blood on Roger's clothing or other DNA. The lab could use it to see if it matches DNA from the Saylor Insurance ball cap. . . . unless LE had already gotten his DNA from their search at the farm.

I just have to wonder if that wreck was suppose to be a murder/suicide. I know he was lucky (that he lived), but wouldn't most people expect to be killed if they were trying that stunt to only kill the other person and not yourself?

Normally that would be pretty hard to aim to just kill one person. Of course, they can't don't arrest you for trying to kill yourself, but they can for trying to kill the other person.

What do you think? You think he thought he could just kill her and not himself or was it intended for both?

I think he just got lucky (to live that is). I'm glad he'll live to pay his price!

Also, if I was his wife and I knew DH tried to kill me I'd be telling ALL. I'm sure the Kimmis' will get their mom back. Thank goodness!

MHO would be that he meant to kill them both. I believe someone posted that the semi was a tank truck which RH probably thought was filled with gas or some other explosive and would burst into flames on impact. I feel sure the semi driver trying to avoid them caused the impact to be on Rebecca's side. This is from the experience of being in a head-on where a driver came straight into us and DH tried to avoid him but he ended up hitting us about a foot off center on my side. There is not a lot of time to react.

I will continue to keep the Kimmis in my thoughts and prayers because their toughest challenge is still ahead of them. I, too, hope this comes to an end soon for their sakes.

Atchison County Undersheriff Larry Meyer escorts Roger Hollister, 58, of rural Sabetha into the Brown County Courthouse about 1:30 p.m. Friday for his first appearance on charges of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated battery. Judge John Weingart set bond at $1.5 million on the charges which stem from a Feb. 26 accident in Brown County that injured himself and his wife, Rebecca Hollister, 55. The prosecution is alleging that Hollister attempted to kill his wife by swerving into the path of an oncoming semi. He has been named as a "person of interest" in the Patricia Kimmi disappearance and the Hollister residence and land was searched in mid-January in connection with that case. Hollister is being held at the Atchison County Jail on the Brown County charges to alleviate any conflict due to the fact his brother works at the Brown County Jail. Hollister was arrested Thursday at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City by Brown County authorities

first of all my hat is off to the Kimmi kids for going in that courtroom today. My prayers are with you for your continued strength!

The crash happened on US Highway 75 near Fairview when Hollister crossed the center line and hit a semi truck truck head on. The Kansas Highway Patrol's investigation revealed the crash was intentional. The charges state that the crash was premeditated and that there was intent on Roger Hollister's behalf to kill his wife.

Hollister's bond has been set at $1.5 million. He is due back in court on March 10.

Meanwhile, the Hollistersnote the plural remain persons of interest in the case of a missing Kansas woman, Pat Kimmi. Kimmi's sons and a daughter attended Hollister's hearing today. They were quiet and declined comment to KQ2. Outside the Brown County Courthouse, the family stood in a line and watched as Hollister was transported back to the Atchison County jail.

~just my opinion, but I bet the evidence that backs up the intent and premeditation has most likely some part in what ReH told LE~

In another post here, someone mentioned that disabling the air bags would show that it was premedited also. Who knows?

http://www.wibw.com/home/headlines/86418372.html

couple things of note from the video:

1) three more people testified in the inquisition TODAY. (which leads me to believe that Ro and Re testified last week.. I don't see either of them in any shape to testify today which means that inquisition ((anything ReH may have said)) could have been a sort of impetus to his attempt at the murder of his wife in the FIRST DEGREE (premeditation and intent)

2) the skid marks were from the truck trying to avoid the missile that RoH made of his SUV. They truly show (in this video) how far over the truck had to go to avoid this guy. And looking back at the picture of the SUV and it's angle.. it certainly looks like he was trying to have the truck hit the passenger side right in the middle... which it did

That was me, just a guess. It could well have been interview with Mrs. H. + highway patrol report + interview with truck driver = first degree attempted murder charges, too, but air bag tampering would really seal the deal.
