It appears that the jury in Kentucky makes so many decisions… guilt, amount of time on sentencing, and if they will be served consecutively or concurrently.
I thought the statement Ed Dansereau’s daughter wrote and read was beautiful, encompassing his life and what he meant for so many. I imagine writing it may have been cathartic for her, not knowing if it would be read in court after a verdict as it was prepared ahead of time.
Believe it or not, she is actually the Assistant Attorney General.

Short openings from both sides, someone from dept of probation with sentencing report, Matt son of the Phillips’, Ed Dansereau’s daughter, short closings from both sides. I think that’s it, sorry I didn’t catch names maybe someone else did.Already??!! So the lady from the Commonwealth gave a statement & the defense also? And the Judge read Ed's daughter's letter? Anything else?

First, the defense has to file motions for appeal and a Judge as to rule if there is sufficient grounds to grant the appeal or retrial. I do not know the laws in KY about appeals, and there very well could be some kooky law like many of the others I have learned about during this trial. I am not a lawyer, but it appears that he has several avenues on which to file multiple of appeals. However, it is probably going to be hard to get a KY judge to grant an appeal based on prejudice, it appears there is still a "god ole boy" system in KY. Their best bet in my opinion at this moment probably would be to continue to investigate Joan and Stokes and hope they can find new evidence or find any possible misconduct by prosecution. They would probably have a better chance of a Judge granting a new trial based on those issues rather than on prejudice (although I think there definitely are grounds for this).I watch quite a few trials but what happens on appeal? Does that reverse the guilty verdict so he goes free? Or does he serve part of the sentence or what?
I still think he didn't do all these crimes. He served this country for 30 odd years; in combat areas. Why would someone with this record suddenly go rogue and kill 3 people and try to burn a house down around one of them; let alone do it in the rain and dark? And plant his own identifying article ( dog tag) so the cops could find him easier?

Has anyone read the article by NCFM, written on 2/21/2021 where they told of several officers had committed perjury in court. Re: cell phone locations and shell casings supposedly fired by CM's gun.
Also, Joan was involved with a brother of a CCSD officer. And that officer was not pictured on the sheriff's website and was at both the crime scenes. That should be enough of a clue that something smells in that area of KY and needs cleaning. Corruption is insidious.
Sorry to you good Kentucky folks.
All good points. At the beginning of the trial I was on the side of guilty, but through out the trial the defense chipped away at that for me. I agree Kit is a smart man, but I think that he may have done better with carrying out the crimes give
I am also still stunned at the verdict. I believe he has a strong appellate case. I don't understand how they could not have doubts about the evidence. The system did not work this time.
Jury recommends LWOP

I've never posted, only lurked............but I am FLOORED! I cannot believe jurors thought the prosecution did anything more than a horrible job. The lady was one of the worst I've ever, ever seen! Why does she even have that job??? This is all so weird.

Great that there are so so so many new members posting here, and most all those believe that it was an incorrect verdict.
As to fresh eyes following crimes here at WS and posting, what is your reasoning and concern that he didn't do such as to the evidence?
Sentencing date is 9/2/21So about 12:30pm ET they came to a decision? Any word on sentencing date or will the judge do it today?
