I don't know if I would've been able to find the strength to be present at that arraignment so soon after such a horrible event. My heart aches for Amy Doolin and her husband, and I am grateful that they found the courage to attend for their daughter. May God grant them a supernatural sense of peace and strength for their other children during this holiday season...(this time of year is making the tragedy all the worse to me).

Oh my, yes. Can you imagine Amy trying to put together a Thanksgiving meal? I'm sure she wants to do it for the family -- they have got to have some "normalcy" in their lives, but it really tears at my heart to think about Thanksgiving for that suffering, sad family.

We all need to hug the ones we love and count our blessings.

The two towns are only 20 minutes away from each other according to Google maps

Probably not. A good defense attorney isn't going to advise anything about pleas until he or she has all the evidence. While there will be some given to him or her at the preliminary hearing, it usually takes prosecutors a few weeks to get the majority of discovery together. That said, an offer may be made by the prosecution, and there may be some negotiating between the two parties, but it is unlikely an official plea on the record will be done.

>>> respectfully snipped by me for space<<<

Not a verified insider, so take what I'm saying with a grain of salt, but when I did criminal defense work, the vast majority of the preliminary hearings I attended were fifteen minutes, and almost entirely about scheduling and passing discovery between sides. Very few cases actually get down to the nitty-gritty of putting witnesses on (again, see below for verification of what I'm saying since I'm not verified at WS).

Good post, good info -- Thanks!

I've watched a good many trials in my years here with WS -- and I've seen a few prelim. hearings -- as posted above, I've never seen one where witnesses or evidence were presented. It was talk about handing over the discovery, a few legal details sometimes, and scheduling between the trial principals -- you have to schedule 4--6 Monday-thru-Friday weeks or more for jury selection and the trial, and this involves the judge, the defense attorney(s), the prosecutor(s), and a courtroom.

Maybe prelims are a bit different in this county. Dunno.

I believe Gabbi's birthday falls right around Christmas. :tears:

EDIT TO ADD:

Her birthday is December 26th.

First time poster here, so if I do something wrong - please let me know before you delete. Still trying to figure out rules/use etc.

I just read that TM's 20 year old son was arrested. He was my first thought when I read everything, preliminary DNA would match a father/son work up.

I'm not thinking he is educated beyond high school. He probably graduated HS (if he did), and went right to work.

Looks like we're gonna have to find a bus somewhere, folks -- Looks like ~dad~ is trying to throw his son under it. How many more? :D
:underbus:

Huh? TM said maybe the DNA was BM's? Where? I missed that.

"You can't take this stuff lightly," Scottsville Assistant Police Chief Darren Tabor said.

Kentucky State Police Trooper B.J. Eaton said the younger Madden's arrest was not part of the murder investigation.

"It is not in connection to the murder," he said. "It's just in connection to his father being arrested."

Pearson said he spoke with Bradley Madden by phone Saturday night and warned him to stop the alleged threats.

"I basically said, 'Look, we understand you're going through a whole lot. It's an investigation that's going on. I know it's affected your family also. But you cannot be threatening us or anyone else,'" the chief said.

"The comments, which claimed the police had the wrong man, were sent between Friday and Monday. Madden was warned by police that "the threats needed to stop or he would be arrested,” according to the Scottsville police.

According to the local jail in Scottsville, the younger Madden was being questioned by Scottsville police on Tuesday afternoon."

Really? I was thinking to be a newscaster you would have to have a degree from a four-year college. But I live in the north east near major metropolitan areas

Son Of Man Charged In 7-Year-Old's Murder Arrested In Macon County

http://www.newschannel5.com/news/son-of-man-charged-in-7-year-olds-murder-arrested-in-macon-county

There are a couple of photos of BM at the above link. He looks very much like his father. He has IMO an uncanny resemblance to the suspect sketch for Morgan Viola's case. It really shows in these photos. The chin, cheekbones, mouth, and larynx match up. His hair is combed straight down on his forehead, so that gives us a small clue of how TM may have looked with his hair combed down. I wasn't sure if it was o.k. to share the article on Morgan's thread, so I put it here.

Instant heart string attachment to Amy Doolin after watching the arraignment. She may not know it or feel it now but she is a woman of strength - to be able to suffer through that pain and be there for her daughter is beyond amazing. I pray God wraps his arms around her and her family now and in the future. :(

Guys I am having trouble now finding the court docket information for BM. I saw it all last week while doing some researching about him. I was going to link it here today. But now when I try to research the court docket, the system is down. As soon as I find it, I will link it. Just wanted to let you know I haven't forgotten to look that up.

I'm still feeling this was an act of brazen arrogance. "I want to do this, and I can get away with it. It's the perfect crime, and they will never suspect me," in the same way that Gabe Gaeta probably thought he would never be caught. In Gabe's case, it was a neighborhood-wide DNA swab that nobody could have predicted. In this case, I guess we'll find out soon enough, probably someone spotted TM with Gabbi, perhaps the description TM referred to in his jailhouse interview was what led them to his house in the middle of the night.

I do believe that more will come out of the woodwork on TM, some sort of pattern of sexual violence and/or deviance that might have flown below the radar or have been enabled/covered by those close to him. I refuse to believe he hasn't acted out before. I think he has acted out, and either not been caught, or been able to talk his way out of things if suspected or questioned. Not because he's smart, but because his persona comes across as disarmingly UN-smart, and nobody would believe he could plan something complicated and get away with it. But hey, that's just me and my read on this guy.

Someone mentioned in a post on this thread last week when people were speculating about TM's past and whether he may have done this type of crime before (child abduction for rape, followed by murder) that there was a 7-year old girl that was kidnapped, raped, and murdered in nearby Bowling Green, KY area back in 1996, and her name was Morgan Violi -- they thought Morgan's missing case may have been on WS, if there is still a thread from 1996, but I am not sure if her case was on WS.

Here is a link to a webpage about her disappearance, which describes a man with a beard in an old, maroon Chevy van that had been lurking around the apartment complex where Morgan lived, and witnesses saw him grab her and throw her in the van, never to be heard from again. Her body was later found, but I don't have details yet on where or when. The van had KY license plates, and the man was described as having sandy brown hair, a beard, and a sharp nose, and in his 20s. TM was around 19 or 20 at the time.

LE is probably looking into all the cold cases of missing or murdered young girls in the area now that they have evidence that TM kidnapped, raped, and murdered 7-year old Gabbi. I hope LE can go back and look at Morgan's case as well.

So very sad for Gabbi and her family, friends, and community that this happened. So hoping the predatory pedophile murderer who hurt and killed Gabbi and maybe other children before her will be permanently stopped from moving freely within society forever, and be severely punished.

Thanks to postinginpink for this link to Morgan Violi's WS thread:

Do we have a thread here for Morgan Violi?
I think the sketch is eerily similar to a young TM.

Long before Timothy Madden allegedly killed Gabbi Doolin he was making a record for himself. More at 6pm on @NC5
