There is a discussion group on FB dedicated to this case and there is a lot more information in there. Not sure if I'm aloud to link it or not? It's called "Kandi Gonzalez Missing Discussion Group" There are videos and even a post shown from the owner of the property she was last seen on.

There’s actually 3 groups. The one that’s been linked in her thread already. It’s a public group led by family. The other two are private fb groups. One was formed by a family member but the other by someone that’s not family/friends.

One may join them but info shared in the particular private fb groups cannot be shared here.

Family of woman missing since June 1 desperate for answers

The sheriff says multiple extensive searches involving numerous agencies and volunteers using helicopters, drones, and dogs during the past couple weeks have come up empty.

The sheriff says a search team believes they tracked her over a hill to an area near another road, but they have no idea where she went from there.

“Our family is looking for answers, any answers we can possibly get to where is she,” Gonzalez’s sister Sue Abbott said.

The mother says Gonzalez has joint custody of her 5-year-old son, and it’s not like her to vanish with no explanation.

Floyd County Sheriff John Hunt says Gonzalez, who has lived in Floyd County for a couple of years, was last known to be seen June 1.

She was reported disoriented and trespassing in a stranger’s backyard along Abbott Creek Road in Prestonsburg, less than half a mile from her own home.

“She seemed confused about maybe where she was at or how she got there,” the sheriff said.

In a cellphone video provided by the sheriff, Gonzalez can be seen running into a creek. That’s the last time anyone has reported seeing her.

“She jumps in the creek, and then she’s just gone,” Dixon said. “There’s just nothing else.”

This is JMO, but how the sheriff describes Kandi at the time she disappeared and how initial reports and family describe Kandi’s behavior are different.

Initial Reports & Family:
Kandi was in distress; she was distraught as she entered the homeowners property. Kandi had just been kicked out by her bf and asked homeowners to call her mom. A group of teenagers were taunting her, causing more of a panic and Kandi ran into the woods as she was still being videoed. She jumps into a creek, leaving her shoes, and disappeared.

Sheriff’s description:
Kandi trespassed onto a homeowners property. She was disoriented. Kandi seemed confused and like she didn’t know how she even got there. Kandi begins running into the woods in which she is videoed. She jumps into a creek and then she’s just gone.

Yes, I noticed the differences too.

Not sure what to make of this case.

I just want to note that the mentioned cell phone video is included within this news clip. For me, seeing it really brought this situation to life more than any of the words I've read. Anyone who hasn't seen it should check it out. IMO

I am far from expert, but to me, it looks like she has been drugged in a way that she was unaware - how terrifying that would feel. Of course, I don't know that, but the behavior is so odd that it seems not only panicked but drugged.

Speculation only.

Yes, they're different. I wonder if official search efforts for Kandi would have been different if she were anyone else and the very first sentence was removed/edited.:( For example:

Sheriff’s description (EBM: of a woman with a diff name):
Kandi [EBM] ventured onto a homeowners property. She was disoriented. Kandi seemed confused and like she didn’t know how she even got there. Kandi begins running into the woods in which she is videoed. She jumps into a creek and then she’s just gone.

I totally agree, there's a sort of swaying uneasiness about her that is definitely off.

I've just seen the video of Kandi for the first time. I was surprised that despite her situation and mental state, she appeared quite calm and serene...she wasn't running around screaming and distraught.

I think that was passive panicking - she was almost in a catatonic state.

She must've had severe life-threatening stress and trauma to act like that.

Then 'flight' mode kicked in and she ran off again.

I think if it were the effects of drugs (either she knowingly or unknowingly took) then she wouldn't have been so stable on her feet or remember her mother's phone number.

MOO.

I've tried to make sense of this case for a while now and just can't settle on a real direction.

If the boyfriend had just kicked her out and their home was a half-mile away. Was the situation at the house life-threatening, or did she think it was? I wonder if she was avoiding roads because she thought he was coming after her?

Since they now think she did make it to another near-by road. Do we know anything about the whereabouts of the boyfriend when all this was going on? What if he was cruising the area looking for her and picked her up?

On that same subject, why haven't we heard anything about this un-named boyfriend? Why hasn't he spoke out in the news? Has her family even mentioned him? The whole thing is just weird. LE has never mentioned interviewing him either.

I'd consider looking into some posts / comments on the public Locate Kandi FB page linked above.

Following and sharing nationwide as a critically missing adult with all my truck drivers and other professional drivers out there.
Hoping and praying the searchers find her alive.

I'm wondering if the boyfriend was high and became deranged.....because Kandi was catatonic with fear.

She could barely speak, and ran into the creek because it was a better option than being near him.

She was in ultra 'life or death' mode, barely functioning.

Only high trauma must have lead to that.
MOO.

That's a natural conclusion, so why isn't LE looking in that direction- or are they?

@hibachai I have read the comments, just staying within TOS ;)

I think she was traumatized not drugged. A scenario that makes sense to me is that she possibly flagged down the vehicle with the teenagers to get a ride and away from the bf. She realized they were unsafe and when she saw someone out in their yard she either jumped out or they let her out and continued mocking her. Unfortunately the person who called her mom for her wasn't protecting her either. Abuse, trauma, betrayal, harm. She was terrified and helpless. It's obvious to me why bf isn't mentioned and why LE isn't doing anything. MOO
