First witness today is sister of victim Chris Jones. She said Chris was 40 when he was killed. He has three kids. Oldest was an adult when he was killed but the other two were young kids.

Next witness is crime scene technician, Jessica Hoffman.

Crime scene video being shown to the jury. The brothers' bodies were found in the backyard of an abandon home.

Crime scene tech testifying about one of the remains.
Were their organs on the outside of the body? Yes, those are the intestines.

Charred clothing from one of the boys.

Defendant watching the presentation of the victims clothing, etc...

Sgt. Vance, a couple days later, got a call that they had a ping from one of the boys' phones. That led them to a home and co-defendant Dejuan Carter had the phone.

Remember, the prosecution says Rhodes stabbed and killed the two boys but made Dejuan Carter (15) and Jacorey Tyalor (17) participate in the stabbing and clean up. (both are expected to testify). The defense says #BriceRhodes had nothing to do with it and the others are the killers.

Next witness is a former neighbor of #BriceRhodes. He happens to be incarcerated that this time, but not related to this case. He testified Rhodes borrowed his Dodge Charger and didn't bring it back....this was back in 2016 when the murders happened.

Next witness is detective Chris Rutherford. He located #BriceRhodes car (Mazda). He said the backseat was missing and could smell bleach upon approaching the car. "I could smell it almost across the parking lot." Everything from the trunk had been removed including the carpet.

Pictures of #BriceRhodes Mazda that had carpet missing, backseat missing and smelled of bleach.

Another crime scene tech is called. Rebecca Kimmer was called to #BriceRhodes apartment. She tested carpet for blood. It was presumptive for blood. She sent the carpet samples off to the state lab for further testing.

Pictures of the padding underneath the carpet in #BriceRhodes apartment. Stains are scene as they roll up the padding.

Burnt items, IE: comforter, pillow, towel, latex glove, etc.. found in a dumpster. Remember, the brothers' bodies had been partially burned.

The next witness is in custody but they can't locate him at the courthouse. Break until 3:45 while they find him.

KEY WITNESS: Co-defendant Anjuan Carter has taken the stand in KY v #BriceRhodes. Rhodes defense says he's the killer and their client is innocent. Carter was 15 yrs old at the time of the murders.

When asked what things he and co-defendant Jacorey Taylor would do back in 2016 he said, "find females to hook up with." He was 15, Taylor was 17.

Carter said he knew Brice "Rambo" Rhodes through the brothers Maurice and Larry (victims).

Carter testified the night of the "hit" they were all driving around, #BriceRhodes was in the backseat and had a gun. He heard Rhodes say, "Get out of the street, ." Then a gunshot. Christopher Jones was shot. He said he saw Rhodes arm out of the car window shooting the gun.

They went back to Maurice and Larry's house. No one talked about the shooting.

Carter says #BriceRhodes said there was a bounty on the guy's head that he shot and that he was going to share the money with all of them. (prosecutors say the victim, Christopher Jones, did not have a bounty out, wrong guy.

Carter says another night, after the shooting of Jones in the street, they were all over at #BriceRhodes apartment. Larry Ordway, 14 (victim) and Jacorey Taylor, co-defendant got in a fight. Maurice (brother of Larry and victim) grabbed knife and waived it at Jacorey. Rhodes jumped up, grabbed the knife and smacked Maurice.

"It was like a big combat knife." After #BriceRhodes took the knife, Carter said "Brice was going to violate him". He said that means to inflict pain. Discipline. Maurice thought it was just going to be a punch in the chest.

Larry and Maurice went into the bathroom and the rest of them in the living room "took a vote" on whether they should die or not. #BriceRhodes called for the vote. Carter said he voted no, but the others said yeah.

Does this judge not have a clerk present? She is swearing in witnesses and typing up a storm I am assuming admitting evidence during testimony of witnesses? The court's website indicates she does have a bench clerk, Brenda. Does this courtroom not have a court reporter either? I haven't seen one yet, the camera rarely zooms out.
Am I missing something?

Ty for the updates! I am a day behind, I don't have twitter/X. Is there a file somewhere other than twitter to view all the crime scene photos/videos/evidence admitted thus far?
Crime scene photos are seen at video (Day 2- yesterday's trial) linked below. Additionally, will post them following this post, as I don't of anywhere else the photos would be.

WATCH: Triple Murder Trial — KY v. Brice Rhodes — Day Two

Brice Rhodes is accused of killing three people throughout the month of May in 2016. Rhodes allegedly shot and killed Christopher Jones, 40, then later murdered two witnesses — Larry Ordway, 14, and Ordway’s brother Maurice Gordon, 16 — out of concern that they might implicate him in Jones’ murder. Rhodes had three co-defendants who all pled guilty and agreed to testify against him during his trial.

Sgt. Jason Vance testified that once they identified the boys he went to the mother's house, Elizabeth Wren. Elizabeth's brother, T.J. Wren was there. He led police to #BriceRhodes. Vance wasn't allowed to say what T.J. told him that put Rhodes on their radar. There was a hearsay objection.

After the "vote" on killing Maurice and Larry, Carter says, Rhodes put a sock in Maurice's mouth, tied his hands behind his back and put hat over his head. #BriceRhodes began punching Maurice in the chest, then Tieren Coleman handed Rhodes the knife.

The killing of 16-yr-old Maurice Gordon: Carter testified after Coleman handed the knife to #BriceRhodes, Rhodes started stabbing Maurice in the torso, chest. Maurice was on his knees.

The killing of 14-yr-old Larry Ordway: Carter testifies after #BriceRhodes stabbed Maurice to death, they then brought Larry out of the bathroom. Larry's hands were already tied behind his back with belt and had a hat over his head so he couldn't see. Rhodes then stabbed Ordway multiple times. Carter said he stabbed him until his was dead but then Rhodes passed the knife around and made the rest of them "participate". Carter says he stabbed Larry 3 times.

5:50 PM · Dec 13, 2023

Carter says then Larry and Maurice's bodies were put in bins. They carried them out of #BriceRhodes' apartment and loaded them into a car. Carter and Taylor were told to stay back and clean up the blood in the living room.

Carter testified they got bleach and started scrubbing the blood on the floor. They worked on it that night into the next morning. They didn't sleep.

Cross exam of co-defendant Dejuan Carter: Carter told authorities various lies including he didn't know #BriceRhodes when first arrested. After they let him speak to his mom and sister (he was only 15) he said he then decided to tell the truth. However he admitted he's only testifying today to save himself..

Cross exam: Carter was given a deal to plead to lesser charge of facilitation of murder. He spent 3 years in juvenile detention. When he turned 18, the judge let him out on probation over the prosecutor's objection. He is incarcerated NOW not for this case but he picked up multiple burglary charges and is serving a 4-year sentence. He's currently 22 years old, he was 15 at the time of the murders.

Court resumes Thursday at 9:15am. Jurors report at 10am. At 9:15, another of the co-defendants, who is in custody, will be ready to testify and sounds like there will be some kind of proffer with him which is why juror coming in 45 mins after lawyers/judge.

Next witness is Investigator Brian Royce, crime scene tech. In 2016, he was a detective in the homicide unit. He conducted a search on the Dodge Charger that #BriceRhodes had borrowed from his neighbor. He had a tech with him that lifted some prints and collected some articles of clothing. He does not know the results of the testing of the fingerprints.

Going through witnesses quickly. Next up is detective Brian Peters. He was called into to help with the search of Rhodes apartment and his Mazda.

Peters also responded to a call about a dumpster fire. Remember, the jury has seen evidence of burned items in a dumpster such as blanket, pillow, sheets, gloves, etc...
