LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – A Louisville jury reached a verdict in the 2016 triple murder case against Brice Rhodes less than five hours after they began deliberations Monday.

The jury found Rhodes guilty on all six charges against him — three counts of murder for the deaths of Christopher Jones, Maurice Gordon and Larry Ordway, one count of tampering with physical evidence, and two counts of abuse of a corpse for Gordon and Ordway.

He is facing a possible sentence of life in prison. The sentencing phase will begin Tuesday.


The verdict came down just before 9:30 p.m., several hours after the jury began deliberations in the case.

The prosecution rested their case Friday and the defense did not call any witnesses on Monday with Rhodes deciding not to testify.

Co-defendant Jacorey Taylor refused to answer questions on the stand of the #WitnessToMurderTrial.After a threat of jail time for disobeying his plea deal, Taylor spoke and later pointed the finger of double murder to defendant #BriceRhodes.


"I was the only one that said no." Anjuan Carter testified a group of boys took a "vote" on whether two teen brothers should die and that he was the only one who voted 'no.'Carter says defendant #BriceRhodes then told everyone to stab the brothers to death.


"He was tied up and had a sock in his mouth." Co-defendant Jacorey Taylor cries on the stand remembering how two teen brothers were tied up and stabbed repeatedly. Taylor says defendant #BriceRhodes forced him to get involved and stabbed one of the brothers several times.

 
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Convicted of three brutal murders from 2016, a jury Wednesday recommended notorious killer Brice Rhodes spend the rest of his life in prison without the possibility of parole.

It took less than an hour for jurors to decide whether Rhodes should face the least amount of punishment, 20 years until parole eligibility, or the maximum of life without parole.


Jefferson Circuit Court Judge Julie Kaelin set a final sentencing date for 1:30 pm. March 13.
