I agree and if you read my post above, you'll see that I'm frustrated as well. It probably wouldn't be possible for Madison or Garrard's high schools to provide shelter, but there are other places that could. It's not out of the realm of possibility to think that some of our churches could open their doors. My house is approximately 1.5 hours away from where they are staying in Lex, but I was getting to the point last night where I was wondering if I should invite them over here and have my friends do something for them.
Seriously- they have gym mats at the schools- grab a few of them and put them in a church somewhere. It's not hard to provide free shelter, just takes some thinking and arranging. Donations of bedding would be met very quickly- ask any woman who has a closet full of old sheets and blankets she's been meaning to get rid of, lol. Where there is a will, there is a way. If anyone owns a trailer or an RV, they could shelter a few searchers in those.

I disagree. I think it is money issues! All of these search groups depend on donated money.
If it wasn't a money issue they would not be begging for donations and funding to continue their work over on their own pages!
That's true. It's specifically referenced on their FB site. They have been too busy with cases to do the usual events etc that keep them going. I posted a link (Last thread I believe) where Toney stated he wanted to stay until they found answers for the family. He posted this on CCSAR FB site: "My life is consumed, we have to bring Savanah home. My tears, my everything. I have to"

I said about a week ago that SS's disappearance isn't getting anywhere near the level of attention that other disappearances around here have. Within the past 5 years or so we've had two high-profile disappearances that have taken place on my road. In both situations we were asked to check our farm. During the last one, Eden's (she has a thread on here), my whole tiny community came alive. We don't even have a post office here but our little church opened their doors to the searchers for meals, we had hundreds of community members looking and cooking food, etc. Nobody went to bed until she was found. I realize that's a different kind of disappearance, of course. That was a small child. Still...Even with Brooke's disappearance we've had a lot of fundraisers in Madison County. People hung up big signs and banners on buildings. Unfortunately, most of those have faded or been removed, but they WERE there.

In comparison, things have been quiet for Savannah. Not silent, just quiet.

And while it's great that someone donated rooms to the searchers, that was in Fayette County. Where is Madison's involvement? That's her home county. The meals and rooms that have been provided for Toney's team were also for his team. There have been other searchers involved.
The whole situation would make a great news story.

I'm sorry if this has been discussed (but I have read most posts in the 3 threads), but do we know if there is a specific reason why they are searching the areas that they are? Especially water? Because they are close to the house she supposedly went to? Because they might have a lead from a tip or what one of the men said? Does anyone think they were able to execute a warrant for at least the cell phone records of the guy whose house they searched? Is it possible they were able to tell he was in certain areas that morning? Just wondering if there was any known info on this.

This past Monday, Toney Wade (Cajun Coast Search and Rescue) said the first areas they searched were correlated with Savannah's cell phone pings. Toney said they had been clearing a lot of areas working very closely with Richmond PD. These were areas the Richmond PD had reason to believe something might be found. Toney explained that the police department hadn't shared much case information with him other than where they wanted him to search.

Toney said they had searched a lot of farmland, wooded areas, abandoned barns, abandoned structures, some water wells, and a lot of open areas that would have easy access.

He said they hadn't found anything, including SS's phone.

Toney explained they were looking for anything that appeared out of place. They clear one grid at a time. Toney Wade implied the police have some cell phone records that have led them to areas they have searched.

A lot of the past week was spent searching the Kentucky River. Toney Wade said they were searching the river, not because they had any direct evidence Savannah was there, but just by process of elimination. Toney Wade said, "At this point, we know where she is NOT. We don't want to leave a stone unturned."

This is very sad! I would think that a small-ish town like that would come together & pitch in however they could. It’s not as if they haven’t heard about it, especially at this point. At least that’s how I’d imagine a smaller town to be. :/

FWIW,we don't know that Toney's group is leaving because they don't have a place to stay. AFAIK, their stay at the hotel isn't running out.

Also, what about local summer camps?
Confused. Has it been reported they need a place to stay? According to CCSAR FB site they one have one issue they need help with to continue searching.
ETA: I think it's easy to forget that while they donate their time, they still have a home and family to support and it's not just about what is needed to be there. I think about how long Toney has been there searching and unless he is rich it's got to take a financial toll to be away so long.

I wonder what LE saw on the bar video surveillance inside. It could be very telling of how the men acted, etc. Possible roofies, etc. Also, you would think LE could get a warrant for the guys cell records looking for panic calls that morning or GPS location pings. Surely, they could've broken 1 of them down by now.
I couldn’t have said this any better !!

Nothing to add, just wanted to say that I interacted with Toney as he searched for Emily.....what an amazing man he is! I am so happy to see that he is searching for Savannah. It gives me great hope.

(oh wait, is he leaving? I should catch up before I post)

Jmo I just would he was not associating with Nancy Grace lol. It automatically puts a taint on him for me...

Just a possibility, The man in the truck may have given LE info he knew that lead to the warrant to search (someones reasonable statement would be all thats needed to get the warrant . My reason for saying this is that people tend to talk when caught by surprise. If he had any knowledge, thoughts, or was involved he probably thought he was being arrested and was terrified. One of the 1st things he said was he was on his way to talk to LE. Generally thats a way of showing submission and cooperation or appear to be on "their" side (even if it is untrue). Catching someone off guard throws them off from the planned scenario they may have rehearsed over and over in their heads if questioned in a more controlled setting. It's a tactic LE will purposefully use (though this may have been luck) to get information. I used that technique if I knew someone I was investigating for the court or was under my supervision was lying. It isn't hard to throw someone off guard and I would imagine the man in the truck got the double whammy, fear of being arrested and the shock of being stopped. Just my 2 cents.

Maybe. I don’t think he can just stay forever though- especially when he’s not finding anything. He works in conjunction with LE so there’s also a possibility that they’ve informed him that his services aren’t needed any longer.
I agree to some point. Remembering that right now I think it's been just Toney and his injured dog from his team.
I think money would make all the difference the world.
But like you said LE is running the show and they could feel areas they were concerned with have been covered!
All those rivers are a whole different ballgame.

Folks in the area have donated at least two boats, and donated their time to run the boats, on the river searches. The woman below has donated lodging, ($100 night min., at the Courtyard,) and plans to donate a dog. This was in Lexington, Fayette County. When they have allowed civilians to search with them, they have had volunteers. I would think it would be up to those closest to SS (friends), in Madison, to do a fundraiser for the SAR team. j.s.

Social media is loaded with locals posting day and night. To bad they don't put those efforts to better use.

I don't know how many followed Hailey Dunn or Hannah Graham missing but those towns gave us all something to strive for as far as searching, fundraising and coming together to assist, contribute and rally the townspeople!

Unless there is verification LE no longer wants his services we need to be very cautious in that speculation. It can be damaging if people began to assume that's true. EX: people wanting to help further search efforts may decide it would be pointless if LE no longer wanted them there. ;)
