But police found her body at Sparks' parents' home. She was buried with a rug and garbage bags that could be traced to Sparks' home, police said.

During the hearing, officials said Spurlock's blood was found in Sparks' home. The detective testifying said that Sparks texted his sister the night of Spurlock's death and asked where he could buy a new rug.

Surveillance video showed Sparks at Walmart, buying the rug used to bury Spurlock, authorities said. Spurlock was buried 19 inches deep, doubled over and bound with tape in several garbage bags. She was also buried naked.
