Do we know how the search went today? I had a look but couldn't find anything new, just reporting that it was happening.

What caught my eye is the stats - around a million children reported missing each year, but only from 40 to 150 actually turn out to be stranger abductions. And then an end result of homicide is much, much less than that.

So statistically speaking, the odds against Sky being a victim of a stranger abduction are astronomical. Nevertheless, police in Sky's case do seem to have taken all the right actions required for a stranger abduction. Yet didn't find a single lead.

I have a question, as I haven't been here for a long time discussing Kyron. Do any of you know if there are still search efforts in place for a live Kyron? I know there are posters and billboards, but other than that, is there anything else in place? I am still of the belief that Kyron was handed off to someone. I think that the two D's set it up and he is living with another family.

What do you mean by family? Like...he has a "mom" and "dad", and he goes to school? Or that he's being held in a house by some deranged psycho?
 
This breaks my heart, watching Desiree speak about today's search and about how she goes on.

You know on some level my mind/heart wants it to make sense because that would mean he's alive. On the other hand... he was really old for a child that might have been kidnapped to integrate into a new 'normal' looking family. He can talk. He can tell everyone who took him. He can point fingers and testify. He can describe who/what/when/where/how. I think usually this happens with babies and tiny kids who won't remember their real parents at inopportune moments.

It seems like the older kids are usually taken for less nuclear-family-related reasons. Yes, they can be housed, but it's not to 'replace the lost son' or make up for infertility. More like deranged people hold them to abuse them at will.

I used to think, considering the time line, that a hand-off was a likely scenario. But where would someone even start looking, besides the usual billboards and posters and international publicity? I do know - chilling as it is - that when there's a child-related bust that includes photos or videos, it's some poor soul's job to try to identify any of the children involved. So I'm sure that's a constant, and will always be in cases where the children aren't found.
 
Desiree is one amazing woman. Watching her is heart breaking. I have never seen such strength and determination. She is still clearly convinced that TMH is responsible making several references to having inside knowledge, as we've known all along. I know many think she (and LE) have tunnel vision but mothers' instincts are pretty strong and she clearly had gut instinct about this even before other suspicions were raised in the beginning.

God Bless her. I truly believe she will see the resolution she seeks. No way is anyone going to break her resolve.
 
I'm also wondering what was found. I feel discouraged by the lack of info.

When I watched her I thought, I've seen that very look before. On Elaine's face right after Mark Redwine answered the question "Did you hurt him?" I believe Elaine knew at that moment. I wonder if Desiree's look was because of something they found. I hope not, I hope she was just exhausted.
 
I do wonder what could be found three years later.

Very interesting and telling that she has knowledge.

Let us not forget all of the things LE knows that we have found out about in other cases when the perp is arrested. We think LE has nothing, but that is far from true.

LE analyzed videos and cell phone pings. I bet they have a ton of info from that alone.

Funny you should say that. I was just thinking how much TMH and MR seem alike in so many ways....

At this point pretty much anything in a target area might be evidence. Rope, a bucket or shovel or something that might be preserved over 3 years of freezing and thawing and rain. And there would be no way of knowing if it's relevant or not, so it's potential evidence.

I'm really curious to know which pieces of evidence Desiree is referring to when she says she in part chose the search site using unreleased information. I'm wondering if it's cell phone pings or witness sightings. I'm really glad she's still gathering that big of a group of specialists and volunteers, 3 years later. Hats off to her for keeping the momentum and news stories - it has to help in the long run.

I guess it does sound far out that he would be living with a normal family, but I just think that he was taken and placed with other people or a family maybe not even in the US. I know he was young, but if he was isolated for a period of time, like home schooled a told his parents didn't want him, he would remember but maybe accept his fate. He didn't live with his bio mom, and his step mom clearly had issues with him, and there was a new baby in the home, he may have thought "I am in the way" and believed what ever they told him. The people that may have him may think they are protecting him from an abusive family. I know it sounds crazy but keeping 3 woman in a house for 10 yrs with family there at times, and they don't question a locked door in the kitchen, here in the USA, sounds crazy and unbelievable too.

Oh, how I wish I could help search for Kyron but I am so far away ... but I will keep Kyron, Desiree, and the searches in my thoughts and prayers !
