The snippet I watched just had a quote. Where is this from?

It was posted here quite briefly. The mods had to cut it but they left the link. But it seems that it had been rewritten and that part is different.

Typically insurance companies make you wait 48 hours before approving a rental on a theft claim.

------------
True. Typically 48 hrs, sometimes 72 hrs. Depends on the company and the policy.

Regarding his renting the car in his own name, he would have to if filing an insurance claim. Also, he'd have to produce a valid drivers license to pick up the rental car.

<modsnip>

Thanks for this quote. Strangely, the bolded comments have been removed by KATC. Do you have Joshua's comments? (forget it, found them on FB a couple after his mother's comments using the link from post 1477 on WS).

Just toying with the definition of sociopath. What I am saying is that when the brain is malformed and the person is existing with a reptilian brain thatis acting on impulse, totally self-centered, cannot feel love or pain, and enjoys people and pets suffering (imagine an alligator or a lion in the jungle) that person is a severe sociopath or call them whatever you want. However, brain anatomy can be inherited (or the person could have suffered a brain injury, but more than likely it is inherited if it is this severe). This type of brain malformation or deformity or injury is not going to cause simple impulsiveness or cheating or gambling. It is going to exhibit from the earliest of childhood behaviors (age 3 or even earlier) and there is going to be cruelty, bedwetting, lying, pet abuse, etc.) Because: It is a very sick brain. No amount of motherly love is going to fix this. There have been horror stories of people suing adoption agencies for not telling the poor adoptive parents about the history of the children who were adopted, etc. etc. Sure, by definition of sociopath many people would qualify (anything that society deems not normal- socio and path); however, in this case this child was starting fires from early on and any child psychiatrist would label him with a ton of labels. Me, personally, I would fnd out as much as I could about his biological parents so I could discuss this with a child psychiatrist very very early in the adoption. If I was adopting a child I would be very familiar with the child's biological heritage before I signed those papers. Like they say: You cannot fix stupid. Well, you cannot fix severe sociopaths either.

I wonder if he was a product of rape, meaning his birth mother could have given him up for adoption because she became pregnant after being raped. Just a thought...

From the limited comments we are provided by BSL's mom and brother, they seem like decent, caring people. I consider them victims as well as MS's family. I cannot even imagine living through either of these families' lives right now.

Ref: BSL's mom saying he's adopted- if you read a few sentences past it, I think she pretty much says she said that because she knew others would & really, it hers & her family's info to tell rather than it being the left to be the subject of rumor.

She sure isn't defending him. When your own mama isn't saying you're a sweet, innocent angel, there has to be some really disturbing info about him she's privy to. She isn't buying that he was innocent in the prior RSO offense, me thinks...

I wonder if it was an open adoption. If so, did the parents, dad in particular, had a record.

I totally understand what you're saying.

Because of this very thing--adoptive parents not being the greatest thing since sliced bread to their adopted children-- I have donated thousands of hours over decades to help adopted children find their bio parents and bio parents find their adopted children. I do this because of the horror stories adopted children have suffered through. I do this because of the stories I have witnessed first hand at how abusive some of the adoptive families were to these children WHO HAD NO CHOICE. Because they had no choice and because the mothers were drugged, threatened, and coerced so many different ways it is sickening, I worked with adoption-reunion. As a by-product of that work, I recognized how many things are truly ingrained in us biologically NOT environmentally. For example: Craziest things like one of my adoptees kept a cabinet full of Kraft Mac n Cheese. When we reunited the families (sister to bio sister) guess what? They both had cabinets dedicated solely for Kraft Mac N Cheese. One small thing -- but there were thousands of things like that. I wish I could report that my adoptees went to great families but they did not. Their pain motivated me to search and I was very successful. However, I digress. In this particular case, I had no way of knowing that this guy was adopted. When I read his adoptive mother's letter stating that he was adopted -- I completely understood what she was saying. For the poster who said they don't know their daughter's background I seriously suggest you do your very best to find out and find out quick. It may be nothing. It be a huge something and the sooner you find out the easier it will be to fix it. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, especially in adoption.

Ona different subject, as far as the timeline goes -- it would be nice to put in different color lettering the commentary of the g/friend on what was happening. For example, I think I read somewhere in here that on the night MS was kidnapped there was a big family fight about him marrying the g/friend. I imagine that that does play into him probably drinking, avoiding the checkpoint, seeing MS and being angry and taking his wrath out on MS. I think a factual chrono sheet combined with the commentary of the g/friend on what was happening and when would be very interesting. However, it is your time log and you are doing a great job.

Well, we would have to do a family dynamics study of the environmental and genetic families to see what and who should be culpable. My hypothesis would be the biological father....and his father....and his father. But we probably will never get that answer unfortunately. Think of all the things we could change if we knew and could prove that type of information. We could truly make the world a better place to live if we did not allow them to replicate.

BBM. Philip Kerr's A Philosophical Investigation includes this premise. Needless to say, it goes horribly wrong.

I understand the sentiments, but it's hard to see much daylight between such a view and those of classical eugenics -- and the use of the word "replicate" sets off alarm bells in me that ring very long and deep. How can someone be "culpable" for the genes they unwittingly pass on (even if we accept the view, not uncontroversial, that violent sexual crime has a clear genetic footprint)?

Ach. I'm going to retire from this thread for a while.

I wonder if he was a product of rape, meaning his birth mother could have given him up for adoption because she became pregnant after being raped. Just a thought...

Maybe or maybe like our daughter, her birth mother was a college student. The birth mother's mother worked and could not stay home to raise a grandchild. The birthmother knew she would not be able to provide a stable home for her baby but she did not want to have an abortion so she decided to put up the baby for adoption. To me, it was a loving decision she made for her baby. She asked for a Catholic family and one where her baby would have an older brother. She also wanted a family with a stay at home mom. We had 2 sons and matched the rest of her criteria so she chose us.

Not every child put up for adoption is unwanted or unloved. Sometimes birth mothers decide the most loving thing for her baby is to have him/her placed with a loving family.

BTW, we have offered to help our daughter find her biological parents if she wants to do that. She has said, "No, I'm not interested." She's 18 and could change her mind. if she does, we'll be right there with her as we have been since the beginning.

I did look at it earlier today, but the link Jdavid712 posted above really makes me worried, because the map makes it all clearer to me.

I live in Ohio. I've never been to TX or LA so I wanted to find a map that identified some of the areas in our conversation and that is the site I happened upon.

Seeing it laid out like that makes one wonder. It also churns my stomach and distresses me to know that BSL apparently has been in the area. There are simply to many missing :(

From earlier this evening:

crzimmer I can't let it stand due to copyright- but I added a link and cut down the text so people should be able to find it.

thanks!

From KATC Facebook - hopefully Mods will let this stand:

I love the idea on the color coding ... I was thinking that I'd like to break up the monotony somehow.

However, I'm confused about the girlfriend's commentary. Where are you seeing this?

I don't think the girlfriend has had any commentary. Last I heard, she believed he was innocent of his previous crime that he did 8 yrs for, and he was being unfairly treated by LE.

Also, you talked about how some adoptive families were not very kind to their adopted kids. maybe the same thing happened here.

-----------
In the investigation of the abduction of Dru Sjodin, no one gave up until the last possible moment, when the P.I. found her body after the winter thaw.

I'm sure that LE, FBI and any other investigators have a code they live by that would compel them to continue to search until there is definitive proof she is dead.

We are still searching for Sierra LaMar, every Wednesday and Saturday. Her accused murderer has been locked up for two months, but since he won't talk, the volunteer searches continue.

The percentages are more like 3% of the male population and 1% of females....in the general population. She may be getting confused with the %'s of the prision population....which runs around 20-25 percentile.

There is none. I think aviatrix is mixing it up with the girlfriends family's posts on Tigerdroppings. imo
