Little Jori's murder has to be one of the worst child murder cases I have ever read about. RIP Jori....so sorry your sperm donor murdered you.

I don't think I have ever had my stomach churn while reading anything from WS but this right here.....this is the most horrific act of evil I have ever known.that poor boy,if I wrote exactly what I thought of this guy I'd be banned for life.

Where do people go when hell is too good for them? He deserves the death penalty but not by needle.jmo

I can't find the results of the hearing? I've googled until the searches turn into scary sites....Would anyone have a link to the outcome?

Yeah, I'm actually a local to this one. There's not that much about this case, mostly about another one, but it does state that Wright's doctors have declared him able to stand trial. Also, apologies ahead of time for the comments on houma today's site. They are usually really ignorant lol.

Disabled boy's beheading: sanity ruling postponed

Defense attorney Kerry Cuccia says the ruling is now expected Thursday.

At the end of a six-day sanity hearing, LeBlanc said there's no argument about whether Wright can understand the charges against him and the nature of the proceedings against him. He said the only question is whether he can help his attorneys.

No ETA for sanity ruling in boy's beheading case

During a six-day hearing that ended Feb. 4, at least a dozen investigators and experts testified that Wright has told them Jori was not a boy but a robot or CPR dummy put into his home as a government experiment to teach him about life.

District Judge John LeBlanc had said he would rule last Wednesday on whether such delusions make Wright unable to help his attorneys. However, Friday ended without a ruling.

Man accused of beheading son ruled unfit for trial

The trial will be suspended while Wright receives treatment, with the goal that he will be able to aid his attorneys when the trial resumes.

Wright's attorneys have not entered a plea to the charge in the death of Jori.

I still have such a hard time believing that someone can appear so sane... yet be insane enough to not be able to go to trial.

You'd be surprised. I've encountered one person like that in my job. Even though at first, the person appeared to be competent and able to assist in their case, it slowly became apparent that was not the case.

Man accused of beheading disabled son goes to jail after mental hospital release

A Louisiana man accused of beheading his disabled 7-year-old son is out of a state mental hospital and in jail.

Defense attorney Kerry Cuccia said another sanity hearing for Jeremiah Wright of Thibodaux will be scheduled at a Sept. 16 hearing.

Cuccia said doctors at the state mental hospital in Jackson think Wright is competent to stand trial for first-degree murder. However, he noted they thought the same thing earlier and Judge John LeBlanc disagreed.

I'm not sure if I'm all that happy about him being found fit.

He's gotta be all kinds for evil to have done what he did. I'd prefer it if he did it due to mental illness.

I remember reading an article written by the funeral director? In this case about the work done ...moved me to not just tears...sobs...

Me too. Whenever I see Jori's name, that's what I think about. I wish I knew how to link the article. It was one of the most compassionate human gestures I had ever heard of. Really. It changed my perspective in more than one way.
