It is in one of the FBI Crime Classification manuals.
It may not be taken seriously, but if one were to look into the past of 25 convicted serial killers, they'd find that most had at least 2 and quite a few would have all 3.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but do you mean the book "Crime Classification Manual" by John E. Douglas? I'm under the impression that the FBI doesn't use standard agency-wide texts in analyzing crimes.
Arson and animal cruelty are certainly disturbing crimes, but I don't think the addition of bed-wedding creates a magic recipe for a serial killer.
