Did anyone ever say what type of a container it was or have pics? If I was out late and was using mace as a sort of protection then I'd probably want it readily available. Just wondering if it had a strap that was attached to her wrist or if it was inside her bag? I know nothing of hers has been found so far but if she was holding it and was bumped maybe it went flying quite far. Just kind of thinking out loud.

:welcome:

Sorry ACI, these routes, could you check for camera locations

Okay let me clear this up.

Not once have I stated I believe that she was run over from one still that is simply impossible to do.

What I was trying to point out is that the pictures released from LE are of poor quality.

What I do know is we have been given a timeframe from LE. I also know that no one just disappears unless LE has other information we are not privvy to. Even with Kimsters alien spaceship I don't believe she just got beamed up into the clouds.

There is one primary possibility in speculating about what would make a cautious young woman who carried mace accept help with a disabled bike from a stranger in the middle of the night......and that would be if there was another female present in the vehicle when the help was offered.

Yes! I agree. If a woman was in the vehicle it would make MS feel safe, and this reminds me of child abduction cases, where a young person as felt safe because another child was riding with the perp.

The problem with mace spray is that it can end up temporarily blinding the person who is spraying it, which may have happened in Mickey's case.

When I had a mace can, my DH told me to carry it in my hand in the position that it should be for use against another. It doesn't help to have it in your purse!

Just occurred to me that perhaps the perp got MS's attention /near to the vehicle by flagging her down for directions...
If there was a vehicle that she had seen numerous times that evening maybe she believed they were lost and she stopped to give directions...but got snatched instead. No bumping of the bike needed.
I haven't been able to read everything...but I don't think this has been mentioned and just wanted to throw it out there.
IMO

Brettly said that she got it out and turned it on before she left his house, which leads me to believe that she put it somewhere other than her backpack. She would not have been able to hold it in her hand and ride her bike with both hands as seen in the photo captures. I think she either clipped it to her clothes or had a place on her bike she clipped it to so that she could grab it if she needed it.

I keep my own mace spray clipped to my keychain on the belt loop of my jeans and just imagined MS would do the same while riding her bike.

SIAP:
Special K-9s Recovery Specialist, a Texas-based forensic canine company, joined the search for Michaela “Mickey” Shunick today. Texas Equusearch also returned to Lafayette to resume searching for Shunick.

They must have fresh tips on here whereabouts to have two groups come in like this.

From the previous thread and snipped...

Nobody questioned the new asphalt until you said something about the road being paved over a few days before. Most of us knew you meant a few days before Mickey went missing, but some thought you meant a few days before you went out to take the photos.

You didn't go out there to disprove the "truck ran over Mickey" angle. You said you were going out there to take photos to provide a huge bombshell theory that included maps and pictures and information that nobody had brought up here.
[snip]

I clearly stated on here that I was going out there to take pictures of the bump and try to settle it, as well as the other. As far as the other, I am still working on things but it would be irresponsible of me to post things before they're fully developed. Believe me, just because I haven't been posting on certain aspects of the case doesn't mean I haven't been taking a lot of actions in pursuit of this case. Not all actions taken to help find Mickey have to be/are taken on this board, because Websleuths is not the only tool/avenue. Typing here at a keyboard can help, but also, old-fashioned shoe leather has its place. I am being extremely careful to avoid impeding the investigation, and doing so makes the going slower than we'd all like.

If/when I have something to report, and the moderators consider it appropriate, I will share it

Are you saying something new or just restating? What are you getting at?

Agreed. Not sure what you are getting at.

For whatever reason, the creepy old perv guy, if he exists, picked up TP and made his offer. She declined, and he dropped her off. I'm not sure why he thought she would have said yes. Maybe she just had his fave color shirt on. Who knows. Hard to think like a perv if you're not one.

------------

And yet, through years of crime research, we know that many young women out of naivete have accepted rides from strangers/acquaintances/friends and never returned.

...Yes, that is exactly what I believe happened here. I can't tell if you are trying to introduce something new?

So, you're doubting the victim's account?

Do we know where they're searching today? (With the dogs I mean).

Not very specific, but:

Teams of 10 to 15 people are tackling the edges of Lafayette Parish, according to Brettly Wilson, a volunteer and close friend of Shunick.
