kemo, the news article wasn't posted for 11 days after the incident, which is curious. With the photo of the perp & the vehicle in NC, hopefully he will be identified & arrested, due to an aware citizen's tip.
Imo, the DWT may not be the vehicle used in Mickey's abduction, but only a witness.
To bump someone's bicycle and only damage the rear tire takes finess, imo.

agreed. has anyone notified Lafayette police or abdella about this? i would like to think that carolina police contacted them due to the similarities. i wonder if the girl was blond. i wonder if she has any hunch that this guy has done this before

ACI, idk if you can tell us this but since you're not working on the case anymore, does that mean everything that u was working on just won't be looked at anymore? Did you just completely stop with what you had or did you hand the info you was working on over to the hired PI?
I can't imagine how hard that must be to be devoted to something and then just stop. I'd secretly still work on it. (I understand you have to follow their wishes though)

Stopped everything dead in it's tracks. Everything turned over to LPD. It's up to them to finish following up on all of it

Sorry A.C.I, could you elaborate? What is the civil rights issue and what methods do you speak of?

I was referring to cell phone "Tower Dumps" which are logs that can be purchased from the different providers of every cell phone pinging on specific towers and then tracking said phones. As well as access to video cameras around town that they often claim either don't record, or were turned off, or broken at the time.

Foxfire, I respect your opinion so much.

Yep, agreed. I also posted something along those lines, several days ago:

My post #306:

JMO:

And, if he (they) are that experienced, would know exactly how to bump a bike with their tire(s) so the victim is obscured from view of onlookers.

Excellent idea! IIRC, there was a carnival in Lafayette at the time Mickey went missing; I think it was ending that Saturday. Can someone find out the name of the carnival company and track down their schedule, to see if by any chance there was also a carnival in Raleigh on or around June 18?

Thanks!

....something wicked this way blows......when the carnival comes to town......wooooooooooooooooooooo..........

:what: Surprisingly that happens far too often.... So they claim. :what:

They were altered and not only to clarify them. There are several instances where it's obvious that things were whited out, blurred, there are halos around others, etc. I dumped all of my work because my computer started acting up not long after I downloaded some of the pics.

Unfortunately, you're a naive Englishman.

Depts. everywhere are caught in a cash crunch. Eventually there will be class action suits brought against depts. for using the cameras. It's another example of the use of technology being used for one thing and then morphing to be used for something else. It won't be pretty and it will happen. They are covering their rear ends and this is not only happening in Lafayette.

I disagree. I think the general public is accepting of video cameras used in stores, etc. and realizes at this point the community has accepted their placement. If you watch the movie Enemy of the State, which is a very old movie by now, you will realize that we have been photographed for years now, our credit records are bought and sold, they even know when we flush our toilets -- trust me they do. Video cameras in my humble opinion will only proliferate. Just to mention- in Chicago tollways--any person who pays cash has a picture of their license plates snapped -- the same as when you park in a Harrah's casino garage -- facial recognition is common at the casinos (they now take your photo in 3-D when they issue you a card to play the machines with). People have gotten used to being video'ed. The information is bought and sold by information miners -- as are cell phone records -- these guys are not exactly good guys -- but alas-- another story for another day -- I did not even mention drones or satellite capabilities -- so video is almost archaic at this point. MOO

Did the 6pm news in Raleigh have anything more to add to the attempted rape story?
I googled but saw nothing...just hoping I missed something.

The more I think about this case, and I have been thinking about this case ever since I saw the video/photos -- the more I believe this is a local case. The reason I think that is because there is something obvious here and it revolves around bikes and biking. Her friend's bike was stolen and found in the cemetary. That seems to me to be a message. Then the her bike was stolen and found in the river. And we cannot figure out how the damage was done, though it was severe. And her friend sends her a message at 2 a.m. but no one will say what the message was. Her other friend lets her sail off at 2 a.m. to her house 4 miles away...then white trucks intercept her and we never see her again. There is something here that just does not add up. If I could do anything at this point I would give the last four people that communicated with her lie detectors. I know this won't happen, but there is just something fishy here.

I cannot figure out why LE won't release the last message that she received, the time she received it and what it said. For those searching, wouldn't it be neat to know she said "I am going to the barn to be sure I locked the gate" or "what-ever" -- This case is very frustrating. However at first I believed it was a stranger abduction - but the more I realize that they are picking and choosing what they release - the more I think it is a local person and when the feces hits the oscillator it was entirely a local thing. That is the only reason I can think of for not releasing the text messages, etc. If this case was a kidnapper who came from I-10 and grabbed her -- then the text messages would have been released because they were irrelevant. Jeez louise this is a frustrating case.

My bold above.

Someone has become very skilled at extricating women from their possible means of escape, the bicycles.

I also think the stolen bike, was a means of extricating her friend from riding with her.

BBM Her friend had his bike back, they biked together to the club and back to his house.

And who EVER gets their stolen bike back? There was a post a while back on another thread about who in LE returned his bike to him-BW. Can't remember

I do not believe this has anything to do with bikes. BW would have just bought another bike, if his had not been found.

To me, this is about a classic a case as ever of a random victim in the wrong place at the (very) wrong time. And I do not think Mickie is alive, or has been, since a very short time after she was abducted.

I know the guy she was with, BW, was given a lie detector test. We know who the messages were with - her friend who had texted her to meet her at a Diner. MS declined because she had already eaten.
