Paddle, I know you said it up thread but what day(s) did you search where the bike was found? Are you certain y'all searched the exact location? I'm wondering if this means the bike was dropped after a certain date.

I agree. If you searched the area around where the cars were, and found no bike, then I believe it was dropped at a later date as well. Then again, they could have parked away from the area.

They could have meant the Acadiana area, not just at the boat launch.

Very true. They've made a lot of ambiguous statements lately...easy to interpret something incorrectly.

So wait----there were no flyers there (Whiskey Bay) this past Friday but there was one Saturday when her bike was found? If that's what I hear you're saying, that's chilling...

If you were going to post "Missing" flyers at the Whiskey Bay exit and under the bridge I can see about a dozen places where you might want to plaster them, assuming you had plenty with you. Perhaps there were several taped up and some were blown away or removed intentionally...?

There is also the possibility that the perp. printed one off before going down there to dump the bicycle in case the place was busy with people, so as not to look suspicious. Perhaps he taped one up, looked around and then dumped the bike after ensuring that nobody was around?

Bayou Becky, what is your video of. I took one as well this morning but having problems uploading it. Mine is from BW's all the way to CajunDome via St. Landry and then down by Blackham and through the sorority houses. Mine should be up pretty soon. Is yours of the same route?

Morning all. Stayed up late watching our lightning storms and now I'm up late, and running even further behind. Anything at all happen, case-progress-wise, between midnight and now?

If the bike were found in Lafayette by someone with a warrant, I don't think he would have turned it in - sad but true. Could be there was no one in his circle of friends with the moral courage to tell him to do the right thing, and no one in his circle wanted to take the reponsibility of lying to the police that HE/SHE found it... so they dumped it later.

But I'm not sure that in that situation they would have gone to the trouble to drive it all the way out to Whiskey Bay, either, so I'm not real keen on the idea it was found by a scavenger and then dumped. I'm still operating on the idea that the perp himself dumped it there.

What I meant was, if it was dumped AT Whiskey Bay same night, someone could have found it and taken it before the case was on the news, then they were scared and put it back. Unlikely....I think the bike was probably dumped a night or two before it was found, not there the whole time.

Friday afternoon. I did NOT get out of the car under the interstate. I def didn't see flyers there. We hiked around the WMA for a few hours. It's overgrown and it collects trash under the interstate. I'm not in anyway saying that the bike wasn't there on Friday, but it wasn't in plain sight and neither were flyers.

Just wondering...since Mickey was somewhat close to the "4 corners" area known for prostitution....are there any unsolved murders of women with "high risk" lifestyles in Lafayette or in the area around 4 corners? Even if they were of a different race, socioeconomic group, etc. Just wondering. Guy could have been coming back from trolling around for prostitutes a little ways up the road...

When I saw this, I immediately thought they should add Holly's picture as well...

Oh... yes, mine is the same route. It was the route that you'd suggested earlier this morning.

ETA: I have to wonder if you and I passed each other... ^_^

I feel like you need to contact LPD and let them know this. May help them better determine when the bike was put there and/or when the flier was posted. (And I am hoping it was indeed the news media that did that)

I'd just like to know if she's on the camera on St. Landry where the car and truck are. Did she ever pass that camera up? That could eliminate the whole azalea cut through idea.

This reminds me of the 12 girls missing from the "petite blonde" serial killer that was posted before. What if it is linked, and the perp who is traveling along the east coast decides that the heat is too hot where he is, and decides to travel west? What better place to stop than Louisiana. I looked at the timeline and it seems the most recent people that went missing were only a few months apart, and then go back to last year. He might be just getting started, and according to his previous attack pattern, it would be a few more months before he finds another girl to abduct. (all assumptions, of course.)

Well I went ahead and did it myself. I told you I was retarded and wouldn't be able to put the video on "the youtubes". That's why I'm glad you did it. I Keep getting an error. It Doesn't like iphone video.

Nope.

Last night I read the thread up until the post made at 2:14AM. This is my first post today and already there are so many pages to read. Before I catch up, I want to post the image of what popped into my mind after I had already shut down my computer and laid my head on my pillow. As usual my mind was still in overdrive thinking about the circumstances surrounding MS's disappearance.

As previously touched upon last night in bits and pieces by some of you, here's a possible scenario ~
As MS rode home she was to meet up with someone with weed. As she waited for the guy to show up (it dawns on me that she appears to be just sort of sitting at the Circle K corner. Was there cross traffic at that time or was she waiting for somebody?). The white truck came up from behind her and probably passed her before turning around on St. Landry. By then, as planned, MS crossed over to the other side of the street and was waiting for the white truck so she could approach it from the passenger side to score some weed. That's why the truck stopped before the houses in that bushy section of the street - if that's a correct assessment.

In the meantime, the Oldsmobile (I remember those cars - older men and uncles who, at the time they were driving them, were probably my age now), turned the corner onto St. Landry street and spotted the white truck stopped there and then spotted MS on her bicycle talking to the guy inside the white truck. The Olds may have had more than one person in it and the two of them decided to take MS's pot up the road (along with her?). They may have mistaken MS's exchange at the truck for some other kind of exchange too. As someone posted earlier, they may have positioned themselves up the road near the abandoned Lourdes bldg. and surprised her as she approached the area.

If MS had prearranged to buy pot, BW and CS may know about it or suspect that is the case which causes them to appear to be holding some info back. If this is true, I'm sure they've disclosed what they know to LE. They may know who the source in the white truck is as well and have made contact with that person - the driver of the truck we see coming and going on St. Landry Street. LE may only be interested in the Olds at this point as the driver is their POI. Sound plausible?

They've never released pics showing that she made it that far. If she cut through the LCG parking lot, then it would have missed her. But just because they didn't release a pic showing her there, it doesn't mean they didn't capture there and are withholding it for some reason.

From what I understand, no, she is not on any video surveillance footage anywhere on St. Landry. That's what made me think she may have cut over to Azalea. If she did that, assuming she made it through the city hall parking lot safely, where would the white truck most likely have cut her off? I also wonder if in the picture showing the car near the apt. on St. Landry with white truck in upper corner of pic is the perp turning around because he lost track of her momentarily. Hate to think of someone "hunting" her like that.

To me, it'd seem more likely that a person in the Oldsmobile would be more likely the one with the weed. I'm not racially profiling, but am assuming that she wouldn't be buying top shelf marijuana or anything like that.

It is pretty common for young women to put themselves in dangerous areas and situations to purchase marijuana. It's sad, really, since the "drug" is less harmful than alcohol, which is readily available and safe to purchase.
