I think some of the details of what happened exactly that night are still getting ironed out because multiple media sites are reporting inconsistent stories. I do have some coworkers that live in that area and they told me it’s a rough city & that people often work in small groups to commit crimes, so it wouldn’t surprise me if something bad did happen to him it may have involved more than one person. Im really hoping for a positive outcome for him & his family. His wife/children must be a wreck right now.

Early on in this case, his wife had said she saw video footage of a man who was not Nathan using his debit card. Is that now not accurate and he is the only one who was ever seen using his card?
Imo that threw off possible leads.
People are still under the impression that a strange black male was using his card.

Unfortuately, I believe Nathan will ultimately be found to be a victim of foul play. I've read many comments around the internet from locals who say the area is dangerous. If Nathan was heavily intoxicated, his thinking was impaired that night. I thought about the possibility of him ending up in the water, but some have said he wasn't near it. That leaves the possibility of him meeting up with the wrong person and foul play. I don't suspect the business partner had anything to do with this, other than he should have stuck with him that night (not blaming, just being a jerky Monday morning quarterback).

My thoughts are with his wife and kids. This is a horrific nightmare for them, which likely won't end well :(

My husband made a great point. Happens many times in BR. Hit a pedestrian and run…. If he was stumbling around, late night
It’s absolutely possible he could have got hit.

Also question- did he buy a bus ticket?! Is their video maybe at the station!?!

TES have been out on the streets searching for two or three days, so I don't think that's likely.
Even if the driver put him in the boot there would, I assume, have been blood left.
But it's been pretty quiet since the search started, and both TES and the team searching the water have asked people to not speculate about "rumors" online. No idea what those are but I wonder if they may have found something that hasn't been officially reported yet.

I agree about the foul play. I originally discounted the possibility of him falling in the water since his phone and debit card were found elsewhere but I'm rethinking that. I can see a scenario where he stumbled up to an ATM, got some cash, and was mugged as he walked away with his cash. If he got hit hard enough, he may have been so disoriented that he got lost looking for his hotel and walked a few blocks to the water. I mostly consider that as a possibility since his body hasn't been found despite multiple searches.

Def could be just as you say-good thoughts. But I think there's also a possiblity he may have left the area with someone in a vehicle. That's why he hasn't been found, despite the many searches of the area.

Texas Equusearch is now offering up to a $10,000 reward.
That's a generous reward - hopefully it makes a difference and someone comes forward. The article provided a good summary and seemed to suggest that the pair went directly from the game to Happy's without stopping first at a club.

Right, that doesn't seem to match up with what we know about them going to the gentleman's club between the game and Happy's. Hard to tell if they're disputing that fact or if it's just sloppy reporting.

I'm also interested in where his debit card was being used on Saturday before his wife could get the card frozen, and whether it was him still using it at that point.

The article says, "After the game, he and the client took a Lyft from the game to Happy's Irish Pub on 3rd Street in Downtown Baton Rouge at approximately 9:30 p.m."

Looks like tip-off was 6 pm. I wonder at what time the game ended. Most college games run for approximately 2 hours, which would suggest that they there was sufficient time for another stop before returning to Happy's @9:30.

Two hours seems right on the money- this tweet confirming their win was made by LSU at 8:04 PM.

Born and raised in BR. The entire city has crime, yes. But the direction he walked isn't one most ppl would walk to go anywhere but the bus station. And the busses here are gross. No one with other means of transport tales them. Once he was on the other side of the Interstate, he was in a very bad area.
Downtown has been cleaned up mostly from the Interstate to the river. The other side is bad. Not necessarily like you'll get hurt just being there but NM definitely would stand out. And not be welcome.
In December, my spouse and I stayed downtown for a work party near Happys. We stayed at a different hotel than NM. I parked my car in the nearby garage. As I was walking across alone with a lot of luggage, a group of young <modsnip> men were watching me. My instinct was to ditch my bags and run but I didn't. Instead, I made eye contact but kept walking. They didn't bother me. Also didn't offer to help. I didn't tell my hubs about it because he'd swear I was being paranoid but I usually feel safe downtown. These guys were acting like this was their area. It was the Hampton Inn. And yes, my general way of handling possible criminals is to acknowledge them.
If anyone has questions that I can try to answer about the area, I will.

I’ve just google street viewed the walk from Happy’s to the Greyhound bus station. The walk (and we assume he walked) up to 7th and Convention or Florida Sts looks oks fine enough, typical downtown area. But then he would have had to cross under the Interstate overpasses. It’s quite a length across all lanes in a very desolate area. And at the other side, there’s truly nothing except the bus station that would have been open at night, looks residential and empty with some parking. I’m not sure I’d walk under those overpasses during the day.

MOO but I can’t see why anyone would end up all the way over there, risk walking through a dark, deserted stretch under the interstate, with cash unless they needed to buy any number of things that couldn’t as easily be bought (or maybe they perceived couldn’t be) back closer to the livelier area near bars and hotels. JMO but I just truly can’t see how even a very intoxicated person could accidentally wander there.

The stream of time flows differnt for all, sometimes quuckly, at times slowly, and at times, it stand still for all men....

Ok, meaningless false mysticism aside....

For the free lancing exotic entertainer possiblity, the men would not be jus tmaking a stop, but also making a contact. Thus, the time frame given in the artticle seems a little tight:

- 8:00 game ends
- 8:10 men very quickly leave their seats. Find, and get into an Uber ride
- 8:25 Uber driver very deftly gets through crowd leaving game, arrives at club and drops them off

And now things might get tight

-8:30 Cleared bouncer and seated. Start looking for a free lancing girl.

My guess, however, is that even a clubs were free lancing occurs, one can not ask too openly about it w/o being identified as a possible problem person. Rather, one must first spend money and time first with the individual dancers. Then start raising the question.

Then, there are the soft factors The male would probably want to, ok, evaluate several dancers first before starting to approach them about free lancing possibilities.

Remembering my handful of club visits, my friends never wanted to rush out. Door fees were expensive! Heck, the whole purpose of going was to see girls and have fun. At the minimum, they wanted to see all the performers- at least once. Favorite performers must be seen twice- right?

9:20 Men manage to find a free lancing girl in just 50 minutes. Then, relatively suddenly, decide that the whole strip joint scene has gotten stale despite an apparent interest in the theme and the effort to get there. Arrange for an Uber to take them back to Happys.

9:30 Back at Happys?

Thanks for the local flavor and the street visuals @bayoually and @starlightstarbright. Both very helpful. And worrisome. :(
