Regarding your last sentence. I think she was last seen on camera alone at the gas station correct? Then only her car was seen at the Tower P-Lot? Is that correct? I'm thinking through whether he could be excluded, based on what he said happened (passed out due to drinking) and what has actually been proven factually (if anything).
This is a tough one, as there doesn't seem to be any communication coming from LE for Savannah. Based on a couple of other cases I've followed in LA- most recently, Jessica Easterly Durning. I've stated here at WS, if I disappear while visiting LA, I want a team of WS'ers to come investigate and talk to the media. Otherwise I'll never be found ...
To answer your questions, if I understand correctly, she was alone at the gas station and just her car was on the parking lot cam, at the Louisiana Tower parking lot. That’s my understanding, based on bits and pieces I’ve picked up from the news media. It’s entirely possible that I’ve missed something.
It’s been reported that the Shreveport police department has a shortage of over 100 officers. That’s a lot. Especially for a city with a population of approximately 190,000, according to the 2020 census.
The police officers are spread thin and work a lot of mandatory overtime. Detectives have been pulled to cover patrol positions. While all of this is going on, new crimes continue to occur. Shootings are a daily occurrence. It’s been reported that gunfire is almost a constant, in areas like Mooretown and Queensborough, at night. All of these comments are things I’ve gathered from the local news.
A first year police officer, in Shreveport makes $35,312. Needless to say, you don’t have a lot of people lined up, beating down the door at SPD, for the opportunity to risk their lives, for the city of Shreveport police department. I can’t say I blame people for not wanting to work there.
The Caddo Parish DA does not have a reputation for being tough on crime. The wishes of the victims and their families are usually ignored. The same goes for many of the judges. Prisons are releasing a lot of very dangerous individuals on parole, that should not be released.
It’s my opinion that all of these factors, when tied in together, create a perfect storm of nasty. Shreveport is a very dangerous place.
I don’t go to Shreveport, much anymore. Just like you, if I turn up missing in Louisiana, I would prefer to have total complete strangers from WS looking for me. I hate to say that, but it’s the truth.
Let’s just hope this young lady is found safe and returns home.
