I think that's a distinct possibility. In other words Darnay wants the internet to be his editor. Either that or he was intending to send it to just one person and accidently sent it to everyone.

In the early days of the case,Steve Thomas gave the Pugh's a pass on being authors of the ransom note, saying they could not possibly have put together a note of that caliber and content.
I have no personal information concerning LHP's writing skills,I only suggest this manuscript was deliberately "dumbdowned" to fit the image.
Steve was questioned as to why he didn't feel the Pugh's could be responsible, given they had the pens and pads from the Ramseys in their home and the fact that Merv seemed to know Jonbenet was strangled .
JMO IMO

I've always thought Merv and in particular, his friends should have been looked at very closely. LHP herself may have been an unwitting catalyst for the whole thing if she repeated at home her concerns about JonBenet being kidnapped. That coupled with a knowledge of the Ramsey's house, their plans for the evening, her access to John's paystubs, keys to the house, and of course, Merv being drunk on the 26th and asking if she was strangled? have always made me think they should have been put under at least as strong a microscope as the Ramseys. Perhaps it really was a kidnapping gone bad.

I can't believe anyone would care about the Ramsey's sex life. That was truly tacky for LHP to discuss that.

I read LHP's supposed accounting. I was disappointed from a 'book' standpoint. However, I've read some of this in a tab early in the case, and might still have my copy.

I feel very sorry for LHP. She was betrayed by the R's and now if this comes out in this form, perhaps she'll be betrayed yet again, due to her shall we say, naivety?

I looked more at the big picture of her writings and it does somehow fit into my thoughts about John and the cause of JB's death, should he be the perp. Just as Patsy was upset about this aspect of their sex life, I can only imagine that John was, too. Did John turn someplace else to get what seemed to be so important to him? Could that have been JB?

Edited to add...where's the (roast) beef? (I used to like a good chuck roast, darn it.)

Does anyone know if LHP is low functioning? I'm not making fun of her, I just think that if she has a lower IQ, that would explain her statements. Maybe she doesn't understand what she's said?

I think that she has no culpability in this crime, nor does her family.

This oral sex conversation between Patsy and LHP was in Steve Thomas book. Anyone could have written this nonsense, in fact the story-teller sounds familiar...and having read a certain poster for many years....

LOL, Toltec. Could that story teller have some posting dues 'due' at this time?

Whew, I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that it might just be the case. I was just a little unnerved about saying it out loud. Note that the certain poster is mysteriously absent from this topic. I knew I had heard that before about this conversation between LHP and Patsy, but couldn't place where. Of course it wasn't quite as detailed, but it was already a known fact that LHP said she discussed Patsy's unsatisfactory sex life with John.

Thanks for refreshing my memory Toltec

I COULD go try to dig out my copy of the tabloid that printed a 'letter' from LHP to Patsy. It stated a lot of the very same stuff, not so graphic, tho. It was a long time ago, and I don't have my scanner hooked up yet, but.....no, don't make me. I don't know if anybody else remembers this or not. At best, I could try to dig up the tab name and date. No.....no, no.....I don't wanna.

I think Tricia from FFJ would know for sure if it came from Darnay Hoffman or not. I'm sure it came with a verifiable return email address. And seeing that Hoffman is LHP's lawyer I don't think he would be sending out something claiming she is the author if she wasn't somehow involved with it.

I remember it, Imon. Wasn't it the one that also had Patsy dipping into the 'Beringer Chardonnay' during a party. Should you stumble across it I'd be curious about the similarity of the wording.

The only time I've ever seen LHP in person was in July 2001 after Darnay won the GJ secrecy case. I'd definitely say her IQ isn't high but I don't think its so low she doesn't understand what she said. It would be interesting if she turned around and sued Darnay for putting this out in her name without her knowledge.

Thanks, tipper, for recalling it as well. I don't know if it said anything about drinking during a party, but now I guess I'll have to go dig for it. If my memory serves, it was very similar to this 'book', only it was called a letter.

LHP might not have had the proper training or lifestlye or 'tools' to work with to express herself the way some do, but in looking at her content, I think it has some merit. In the beginning she was following her loyal thoughts, but when she found out she'd been betrayed, she may have just put on her thinking cap, sans the loyal aspect. For some of us, that can be good. I only wish she'd have found some better folks to give her advice. I bet she, like the Whites, rue the day they ever said hi to that family. Lots of people hurt from all this and lots of sorting for all of us to do, eh? :)

As far as it being a hoax the email really did come from Darnay and it was sent to many media outlets.

I am stunned to say the least. I don't know who would publish this book unless it's a vanity thing.

I use to like pot-roast. I will never cook nor eat pot-roast again.

I don't think it's a hoax. A mistake maybe...

Digging update...found the tab with Darnay and LHP, photo, tipper. It's the Globe, August 7, 2001. Still looking for the other one. You can't believe my library of this stuff, LOL. Will post again when I find it. IF I find it, I should say.

I personally thought that first chapter was down to earth and kind of fun to read. It didn't reveal much other than the Ramsey's sex problems, but I don't think their sex life surprises anyone who has read the other JonBenet books and who have followed the case.

I don't think that LHP authored much of the book. Just judging from the first chapter I'd guess that a ghost writer also did much of the authoring. For instance, LHP not knowing the wine cellar even existed is ludicrous and taken from an off the cuff remark by LHP years ago which I don't think she meant literally. The white door to the wine cellar is directly down the hall past the boiler room and only a blind person could miss it.

LHP is trying to nail Patsy and John to the cross, but the evidence isn't there to do it. And the parents have exculpatory evidence in their favor. Burke doesn't appear to have any exculpatory evidence in his favor, and is where LHP hopefully might provide us some insight.

Just my opinion.

I can't believe Darnay is crazy enough to come up with something like this....and the GJ secrecy thing still isn't settled. Why would he jeopardize that? I think it's a hoax meant to stir up trouble.

My first thought was that ole trickster....Susan Stine.

I was so enthralled reading it - I burnt my dinner.

If this is truly LHP, then I'm ready to read. The sex stuff doesn't bother me - I just want to read through to some "facts" - like, I really want to know about the basement window - if it was broken before, etc.

Oooh, I'm so hungry. NOW, what am I going to eat?!

Is this really LHP's book? I expected something different. And why does Darnay need to state Sydney didn't have a hand in it? Who does it appear wrote the book...a former prostitute/brothel/escort owner or a 60 year old grandma????
Anyway I'd buy it, to read what LHP says about John and Patsy. I wish it wasn't so graphic.
