HLN will continue to air this whole trial (with copious commercials) through it's duration. Not sure on the sentencing phase but I will check on that this week.

I think he did answer the phone. She called him at 1:51 pm on June 3; that call lasted 2 minutes 5 seconds. She called him again at 8:16 pm; that call lasted 2 minutes 9 seconds. She called again 18 minutes later and that call lasted 49 seconds.

His friends say he didn't even get very upset after she slashed his tires, two days in a row. Only 3 1/2 weeks before he was murdered he was recorded on the phone telling her he was planning to come visit her before he went to Cancun, even going as far as to say, "You are at the top of the list." Why wouldn't he welcome her when she came to visit him in his home where nobody else would know?

I thought the phone guy testified he couldn't say whether calls less than 5 minutes or something were conversations. Was it about signal towers maybe?

The problem I am having is it was introduced as evidence and it is Exhibit 442. I don't think I can prove anything one way or the other without having the transcript of the darn thing. S/he continues to state it is evidence the spiderman underwear story is true and is corroborated. Why do I get into such debates?! I just feel so strongly about this case I couldn't let someone who thinks JA was a victim go unchallenged.

I have looked everywhere and I cannot find anything more than vague references with regard to this exhibit 442. I don't suppose Nancy Grace would return a call from me, huh?

:thumb: Go for it.

Jodi was getting into his voicemail. Apparently she was checking out his messages, also. I don't think Travis was serious about the top of the list remark and if he was his texting to her after this event changed all that. Jodi claims to have gone to her Bishop about the sex they were having after Travis died. Is it possible she went before Travis died and played the tape for the Bishop and Travis' heard about it through his church. She is spiteful and might do something like that. I thought when she said she confessed to the Bishop after Travis was dead.....what's the point????? She left a dead man behind and went to grind on another Mormon. It wasn't as if she planned on changing. jmo

It must be pretty tough when your client admits shooting a guy through the head and so now you're stuck with trying to convince jurors that being shot through the head isn't so bad after all.

Well, it didn't bleed much (because she'd already stabbed him and slit his throat), so there is that.

It amazes me how the defense seems to not have any qualms about changing their story as they go along. So, if she says she wanted the gas cans because of cheaper gas outside of California and then when that proves to be a lie they simply change it to because she didn't want to be caught in the desert with no gas how can anybody read that as anything but lying. If I were on a jury and heard these inconsistencies and changes in testimony I would not think twice about discounting anything the defendant says in her testimony.

She wanted to get married, for sure. Desperately. As far as being a photographer-----anywhere other than in her own head----that never would have happened. She took a few pictures and decided she was a "photographer". It sounded good. Oh, and an artist-----not just someone who likes to draw.

lol, correction, she said she is a digital photographer, which sounds even better but what it means is you use a digital camera when taking photos, so guess what...we are ALL digital photographers...:great:

:seeya:

I have wondered if JA secretly taped TA in phone sex on May 10 and then threatened to use it to scare potential girlfriends away or expose him to church people later in May. This could have prompted the texts from TA to JA on May 26 when he calls her a sociopath and "worst thing that ever happened to me."
Here is my question: maybe TA researched whether taping without consent is legal in CA and once he found it is not (I think that is correct although I am not sure it is true if the person being taped is in AZ) he called her (early AM calls on June 2nd?) and threatened to report her to law enforcement ( or get his PPL attorney to sue her etc.). This then sent her over the edge.... She heads to AZ and calls him On 6/3 saying she will drop by with her Helio phone (the one she had replaced by insurance unbeknownst to him after the one with the recording was lost/stolen/HIDDEN) to prove to him she has erased the phone sex recording.... He is relieved and lets her in and horror follows.

I've been thinking on that text from Travis ever since she read it aloud in court.

I just can't wrap my head around the fact that he is threatening to expose her over secretly taping him, because that would expose him as well. You know she would not go down alone. She would have played those tapes for anyone that would listen. It would have damaged his reputation within his church, community, work, and friends.

I can't see him wanting that, but maybe if he was angry enough he just didn't care anymore - he just wanted everyone to know once and for all what kind of person she was.

I'm know Mr. M has already gone through all of this and we'll find out what he knows eventually, but it is a conundrum for me. When she read them aloud all I could think was, "Why is she reading this? It makes her sound terrible!" I know they were presenting it to show Travis was "mean" to her, but it didn't come off that way at all IMHO. You could hear his complete and total frustration with her and just the overall "I'm done with you." feel to his text.

I know it doesn't matter in the great scheme of things, unless Mr. M does prove it goes to motive. It's just ticking at the back of my brain regularly.

I'll stop my rambling now... :silenced:

I thought his friends said that is the one time that they saw Travis really upset? He even threw his phone because he was so upset. Maybe he threw the phone because the police never showed up when he reported it when she slashed his tires. It sure sounds like they were very short to the point calls so imo nothing much was said by Travis. May have even said in the last call for her to not call him and he wasn't going to answer the phone if it was her anymore. I think he had had his fill of Jodi and she knew it.

Saying he was coming to see her was just a stall tactic that many other DV victims have done. They will say anything to keep the abuser at a distance. He told her twice he was coming to Yreka and he never came and imo never had any intentions of coming there.

I don't believe he had a clue this creepy was coming to see him. Of course when she showed up and had driven a 1000 miles he would let her in because he was a nice person but imo he never asked her to come there nor wanted her there either. She probably used the excuse she wanted to give him the check for the car payment. She is highly cunning and manipulative.

IMO

JA definitely ruined that beautiful Christmas carol for me.

:furious:

MOO

You must have never seen the Jessica Simpson version that should be named O *advertiser censored*-y Night. I won't paste a link, but it's absolutely horrible. Go listen to somebody like Carrie Underwood do it to get JA's version out of your head.

I think he said it would help us understand how a person could experience this while still seeming to be functioning quite normally. That's why he proposes that Jodi could carry out so many higher level functions while in a dissociative state . . . or else he tried to explain that it happens to us all the time, but we have no recollection like when you are sitting at a green light that you thought was red . . . or maybe he . . . Cheezz . . . I don't know . . . I can't remember . . . all I know is he kept talking at me and talking at me until I heard the dryer bell go off and the next thing I remember is I was in the car and driving to Cold Stone Creamery with a bottle of chocolate syrup in my lap.
:laughcry:

Gotta tell you, I was transcribing his testimony and even I can't remember what he said. He should just point out just before he gets off the stand that of course the jurors now understand amnesia is a real thing, because they've undoubtedly forgotten his entire BS testimony.

Has anyone noticed the times that Travis talks the longest to Jodi is the wee hours of the morning? I think even the sex tape was around 3 AM. It must be the time that he is less resistant to her. ODD QUOTE]

And that was used against Travis by the defense. Poor sleepy Jodi being kept awake by a selfish Travis calling at all hours of the night. Jodi sure didn't seem sleepy or tried in that phone tape. Just the opposite. Travis was very tired and sleepy sounding and Jodi was keeping the talk going and returning to sex and fantasy about him having sex with her breast.

AHA!! That's why he needed a gun - for protection!

Most people that have firearms as protection lock their doors and even have a sophisticated alarm system.

I think Travis felt at ease again knowing JA was a 1000 miles away and no longer lived near him.

Nurmi's middle name must be "seal" because he tried (and sometimes succeeded) to get EVERYTHING sealed - JA's computer being one.

He goes by his middle name, Kirk. Which must make his FIRST name Seal. When you stop and think about it, that makes sense.

So is JW's middle name Speaking and her maiden name Objection?

Interesting to see all these comments about the women's attire, yet no comment about Nurmi.

If one is comparing JW to a realtor, then I will compare KN to a car salesman. His suits are of poor quality and the color choices of his shirts is not in the league of lawyers. Last week he wore a royal blue shirt and had on patterned socks more appropriate for a teenager.

JM dresses as one would expect from a lawyer in court.

Let's face it, $5,000 suits won't help Nurmi. JW on the other hand I think could look more serious, considering her client's life is at stake. But really, it's not a very important issue.

I am going to assume you are trying to prove this to geebee2. Don't waste your time. That person wouldn't believe evidence against Jodi if it hit her in the face. That person makes every and any excuse in the book for Jodi. MOO
