Souza-Baranowski prison put in lockdown days after Aaron Hernandez jail cell suicide
Search for ‘contraband’ on
Antonio Planas, Joe Dwinell Wednesday, April 26, 2017

Prison officials are hunting for “contraband” at the supermax prison in Shirley where disgraced former Patriot Aaron Hernandez committed suicide in his cell last week.

“The prison is in lockdown as a general search for contraband is under way for the next few days,” Department of Correction spokesman Christopher Fallon told the Herald last night.

He said the search is for “weapons, drugs or excess property.”

Family visits have been suspended and only lawyers are being allowed to see inmates at the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center, who are being fed in their cells.

He would not say if any of that contraband was found in Hernandez’s cell. http://www.bostonherald.com/news/lo...t_in_lockdown_days_after_aaron_hernandez_jail

Has it been confirmed that there were three notes??

Newsweek says Hernandez’s alleged high school boyfriend testified in front of a grand jury and was interviewed by authorities, which is what could make it “common knowledge.”

give some more background about his potential emotional struggle

By committing suicide inside his prison cell early Wednesday morning, Aaron Hernandez died an innocent man.

chief legal counsel to the Massachusetts Bar Association, told Evan Allen of The Boston Globe about a legal principle called “abatement ab initio,” which in layman’s terms means “from the beginning.” What that means is that if a person dies before exhausting all possible legal appeals in a case, the case reverts to its earliest stage.
In other words, Hernandez was never convicted of murdering Odin Lloyd in 2013.

Massachusetts is one of several states that still observes the abatement ab initio principle. Perhaps more importantly, it could now help protect Hernandez’s family against civil litigation going forward. Now that Hernandez has not technically been tried for the murder of Lloyd, no evidence established during the Lloyd trial can be used in civil court. Other states have abandoned abatement ab initio after high-profile murderers had their convictions wiped clean because of their deaths, according to Healy.

IIRC weed remains in ones system a long time.

Again , the media often plays suicide as impulsive- it rarely is so.

I would bet the other writings just mentioned would share some light on his state of mind.

I do not think it is a far stretch for someone who will never see light again, who lived a affluent lifestyle might have gotten to the point where the time has come.

I assume cardboard is not a reuular item in a jail cell so that would indicate some planning.

I do not know of soap is allowed in each cell , if not that is also IMO indicative of planning.

Writing notes is classic as well as is (if true) giving away things right before doing so

so a lot of it fits - unless there is different handwriting.

moo

Honest to God. Peeps here says it'e easier to get drugs on the inside, than it is on the outside.

WORCESTER - The lawyer for a prison inmate from Uxbridge has called a news conference in Worcester for this afternoon, where he will outline the inmate’s ties to former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez.

Larry Army Jr., the lawyer, represents Kyle Kennedy, 22, of Uxbridge, now serving time in Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center in Shirley for robbing a Northbridge Cumberland Farms Store at knife-point in January 2015.

Mr. Kennedy knew Mr. Hernandez, who killed himself at Souza-Baranowski last week. Mr. Hernandez was convicted of a 2013 killing.

The news conference is slated for 1 p.m. at Mechanics Hall. Mr. Army, according to a news release, will discuss the “connection” between the men.

At one point, soon after the suicide of Mr. Hernandez, Mr. Kennedy was on suicide watch, The Associated Press reported.

Worcester District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr. is investigating the case. http://www.providencejournal.com/ne...te-to-discuss-ties-to-aaron-hernandez?start=2

I think exactly the opposite regarding who the money should go. I hope his pension and money go to his daughter and fiancee. I hope the Lloyd family don't get anything

His girlfriend can get a job and earn money to support their daughter. I mean admittedly, it might be hard, her life won't be all manicures with her sister and all, but that's life when you have a child with a murderer.

If his girlfriend had a shred of decency, she wouldn't want money from a murderer supporting her child.

I'm curious as to why you think his girlfriend is entitled to money ahead of his murder victim? Perhaps you believe him to be innocent of that crime?

If rumours about his bisexual nature are true, it's possible the girlfriend was nothing more than a beard to keep him marketable. And if she was a beard, who knows if that kid is even his.

Hearing date set as lawyers seek to overturn Aaron Hernandez's murder conviction
Chris Villani Wednesday, April 26, 2017

A Bristol County Superior Court judge has set a hearing date for early next month as defense attorneys representing former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez are seeking to have his murder conviction overturned.

Attorneys for Hernandez and the state will be heard 10 a.m. May 9 at Fall River Superior Court, the one page order states. Hernandez’s lawyers are seeking to vacate the fallen NFL star’s conviction under a Massachusetts common law known as abatement ab initio, which allows convictions to be thrown out if a defendant dies before his appeals are exhausted. http://www.bostonherald.com/news/lo...yers_seek_to_overturn_aaron_hernandezs_murder

Help me for I do not understand why AH thought he needed to be naked in death. That is just weird to me. Why would he remove his clothes prior to killing himself?
One of the articles said AH drew a stigmata on himself with a red pen.... Jesus didn't die with clothes on. Just my guess idk.

Copies Of Aaron Hernandez’s Suicide Notes To Be Given To Family
April 24, 2017 2:55 PM

BRISTOL, Conn. (CBS/AP) — A New Bedford Superior Court judge ordered investigators to release copies of Aaron Hernandez’s suicide notes to the former NFL star’s family, less than an hour before his funeral Monday
....
According to the Boston Globe, which first reported the request, Jenkins Hernandez attorney George Leontire claimed Worcester District Attorney Joe Early Jr.’s office had refused to give the letters to the family until the investigation into Hernandez’s death is completed.

Judge Thomas McGuire granted the request shortly after noon. He allowed the district attorney to redact information in the notes to protect the investigation.

WBZ-TV’s I-Team learned last week that investigators found three hand-written notes next to a Bible in Hernandez’s cell at the Souza-Baranowski Correction Center. Sources said those notes were written to his mother, fiancee, and four-year-old daughter, telling them “I love you and please don’t cry.”

Agree on all your points. I half expected her to giggle like a schoolgirl and discuss how he is sooooooo cute he must be not guilty!

Hard to believe but he had his followers who liked his hot looks and bad boy persona...sad to say I guess that holds true even today and to speculate there may have been one or two on this jury...not exactly a wild thought. I am sure that Judge watched the reactions of the jury to AH and picked his foreperson carefully... but in the end can't overcome a weak case.

you know much is made of his "blowing kisses"....on his first father's day with his daughter his mind was on the murder he was setting out on that evening. Easy to "blow kisses"...hard to be a good father...he was not a father at all.

maybe you can "vacate" a conviction but you can't "vacate" the crime. He killed Lloyd and all involved know it.

Just like Not Guilty doesn't mean innocent, other than in the eyes of the law. And that is what I am looking at. JMHO . But I agree with you, the crime can't be vacated. Sure was a lot of immunity following these cases and makes me wonder if in the long run it was worth it. Knowing what we know now.

I questioned all that immunity especially Shay and AB....it clearly backfired in the last trial...I am not good on details but if they actually vacated that conviction what about the others involved...isn't one serving time? Why should anyone do any time then?

Really long read but interesting. Feel so bad for his brother.

Thanks for posting the link. It is indeed a long but good read. I feel just awful for AH's brother. I hope that he is able to move forward and out of the shadow of his infamous brother.

This is only about AH conviction. Nothing to do with anyone else case. I didn't follow the case but read some. And IIRC one person who is serving time didn't he take a deal? That is pleading guilty. So no, def not have any bearings on a guilty plea. Wonder what he thinks or if he knows or how much he knows.

I still curious about the $50K watch to a heroin dealer who was only in for 3-5. Maybe AB better be careful?
