There has got to be something they have that points to MM besides what RB told them, told JA, and told the tipster friend. All we have heard so far is coming from RB....there has to be far more.

Early in and I believe it was during the Presser there was reference made to a carpet stain. I wonder if that produced any evidence. If so it may blow RB's story out of the water.

Agree, I don't think they would have gone this route without physical evidence implicating MM.

Since we are talking about the judge and stuff, I felt like the prosecutor was nervous, hopefully he can get his jitters out and become more eloquent. But considering GB from the aurora trial was so stellar and that was the last case I followed I think I am a bit biased.

I think the judge looks like Keanu Reeves and Ryan Gosling had a baby.

I really wish some of MM's friends would give us a look into who he was. Really we know so little, and I know I have, and others too, have been judging his responses in court and appearance, and he truly seemed flabbergasted and unbelieving of the situation. It will be very interesting to see how both of them look next time in court.

I'm thinking Rochelle is as guilty if not more guilty than Mm for the actual death of Bella. But the fridge is a great question. Did she chain the fridge door so he couldn't look in it? She's the one that looks really cultish and evil. He just looks doped. Suppose those were all HER books. Maybe her obsession with the occult is the falling out between her and the godmother?

If anything, RB sure did cast some sort of spell over amoroso! Geez. Why is he so into her? Yuck!

I think he was looking for a free place to stay. He could hook up with her for awhile until something better came along. Now he sees $$$$$$. Interviews$$$$. Maybe a movie about the wholething$$$$$. A book$$$$$$$

IIRC there was a restraining order between RB and her mother, but can those last 12 years?

I agree with Shapiro about the mother not being a credible witness. If they offer her a plea, is their entire case going to rest on her testimony? It is concerning that LE was not able to identify Bella on their own especially with RB's other children being taken away by DCF, but apparently managed to get enough evidence to arrest both RB and MM very soon after finding out Baby Doe's identity.

There's no reason he should get any of that stuff. He is nothing special, and the crime he committed, while horrific, happens every day in this country. If he does, it's the media's fault. They are the ones who are making these generic killers into notorious ones. Casey Anthony was hyped too, and now 4 years later, she can't even get the $$$ she wants for an exclusive interview. As time goes on, people realize some of these cases that blow up in the media are no different than a case that's just on 48 Hours. MM is not Charles Manson or Lee Harvey Oswald or Ted Bundy.

Anyway, murderers do not get movie deals. Whitey Bulger did not make any money off of the new Depp film about him. As for a book deal, I can think of many high-profile killers who have not received them. Interview is probably the only thing that is plausible, but I think there is a small time window for that (to make big $$ off of it).

Not the poster but I think the reference is to bio dad not MM

Lots of people have their pets certified as "assistance" dogs just so they can take them everywhere so I doubt if the dog indicates much with regard to the severity of the seizures.

I have a black lab. She's 7-years-old. She basically taught herself to alert when my husband is about to have seizures. In fact, she kept him from having a really bad seizure last year. They're really scary when he has them and she stood right by me and kept touching his hand and arm with her cold nose. I think she prevented him having a full blown seizure. I love her so much! I cannot even think about losing her. She has a heart of gold. I hope MM's dog is in good hands. I'm scared for her/him too. Like someone said, RB couldn't even take care of a fish much less a 2-1/2 year old child. RB is evil, cruel, bitter and most of SELFISH! She's so selfish she let her daughter die rather than giving her up to have a chance in this world.

Aaah, okay. I am re-reading the original post and I didn't see the last line about bio-dad. We found out the identity of Bella and her killers a few days ago. I think it is way too early to start saying that bio-dad will get a movie or books about the case. They aren't just handing out that stuff to anyone who has ever known a high-profile killer.

ETA: For instance, in the Anthony case, the only people who got high-profile book deals were the DA and the defense attorney. In the Ramsey case, it was the parents and the lead detective, to give examples of high-profile child murders. Movies were made of both of those cases, and no one in either family was paid for them.

I'm very curious as to biodad's arrival back on the scene. It seems so strange to me that after being MIA for 3 years and all of baby Bella's life, he shows back up just as the crap is about to hit the fan. I'm wondering if RB indicated to him in one of those phone calls, that something had happened to Bella and he should come "home". I'm also curious about those two phone calls he claims to have placed to DCFS in the past. Is that actually true? If so, what information, and from whom, did he have to warrant placing those calls? I imagine he is gearing up to file a lawsuit against DCFS (you know, because JA holds himself completely guilt free, and also the man sitting with him in court looked to possibly be his attorney) so hopefully more info will be coming out soon on those DCFS complaints.

BBM

I think that was a reporter. There were many reporters sitting next to him in there. Later the guy was interviewing him along with some of the others.

The good Judge reminds me a bit of my Lawyer crush. Mark Eiglarsh LOL I was more than happy that he set RB's bail so high it would never happen. Wise Judge.

Ooooh! Mark Eiglarsh is one of my favorite lawyers.... lol!

Here's the Judge:

Judge Thomas Kaplanes presides over the arraignments of Rachelle Dee Bond and Michael Patrick McCarthy in the death of Bella Bond, in Dorchester District Court, on Monday, Sept. 21, 2015, in Boston. Bella Bond, 2, was known as Baby Doe until she was identified almost three months after her remains washed up inside a trash bag on a Boston Harbor beach. Judge Kaplanes ordered Bond held on $1 million cash bail on charges of being an accessory after the fact, and Bond's boyfriend, Michael McCarthy, held without bail on murder charges. It depends on the state. Some states it's no big deal, others have restrictions. Not sure of MA law on this one. And if he does other things illegally, like drugs, this is no big deal.

I agree but bio dad may not be aware of how things work. In his mind he may think he hit the jackpot perhaps.

Wow, hot judge!

But, was that biodad who was crying at the hearing? If that was him, why was he crying and sobbing? He never cared enough to see his daughter once. Was is just for the media attention?

Yes that was bio dad.

I think he is doing it for the cameras... just as RB wiped her eyes when I don't believe there was a single tear for Bella... Like all the that kill their babies, they're just crying because they got caught. Bio-Dad is looking for big bucks with Bella's story. I wish he would be arrested just for showing up and putting his mug out there and defending RB! Shame on him! He did nothing for Bella! She had no one...

I could definitely see him thinking that especially since the case is getting a lot of attention. I think the window for him to make money off the case is relatively small and unreliable.
