A part of me hopes that the police are not able to retrieve any images/video from the phone. I hate to think of the evil and humiliation that he captured on that phone. But I also think it would be best that this evil human being be confronted with it and forced to admit to it. It sickens me to think about what this poor woman had to endure. I suppose that any pics/vid recovered would be useful in ensuring that this monster doesnt someday regain his freedom.

Awful :( I can't imagine her family having to ever see or even know what's in video.

Philip Chism, the Massachusetts high school student who is accused of raping and killing his math teacher, allegedly attacked an employee at a youth services facility in Dorchester, where he is being held pending his trial, the Essex County Sheriff's Department said Tuesday.

"An alleged attack on a female staff member at a Department of Youth Services facility by accused teen murderer Philip Chism bears a chilling resemblance to the murder of a Danvers High School teacher, sources told Team 5 Investigates Karen Anderson.

A spokesman for the Essex County Sheriff said that Chism, 15, assaulted the woman at the Dorchester DYS facility Monday.

Surveillance video captured Chism following the DYS employee into a locker room carrying an object that appeared to be a pencil.. He then allegedly began choking and punching the woman, Anderson reported.

Other staff members witnessed the attack and quickly pulled Chism off, Anderson reported."

I do not understand why he was allowed to be anywhere near this woman, and how he could have obtained anything to harm her with.

I can't help but believe there was more to his past than has been revealed...there almost has to be more.
 
I wish people did not use words like put down. Because that is how those people think.
I think he should be punished and not ever see the light of day again.

I believe in the DP but not in every murder case.

I have to agree. How on earth could he be in a position to follow a female employee and attack her like this? He has clearly demonstrated that he cannot be allowed to be unrestrained and alone with anyone, let alone a woman. Whoever is in charge of that facility needs to get that situation under control.

Prosecutor Kate MacDougall said Chism crept along a common hallway 'crouched down out of view,' followed the woman to a locker room and tried to choke her while holding a pencil. Other workers came to the woman's aid when she screamed.

Agreed. I am curious about his past history before he murdered Colleen Ritzer.

My thought is no one goes from 0 to 100 when deciding to perform such a brutal killing.

What was his past school life, home life - etc?
I am thinking that he has a history of behavior that were numerous red flags but it was overlooked by his mother and others until it was too late.

One thing we who are posting here at WS can agree on. I personally think this young man has validated exactly what kind of thing he truly is.
He is not (imo) some confused, sad ,and misunderstood young person ; who just needs some counseling.
It doesn't seem like he can ever be rehabilitated.
His evil goes to the core , and I find it hard to believe no one ever thought he might be capable of such atrocities. :banghead:

They're calling her a "youth worker". She was a guard. I'd like to know how old she is.

This monster needs to be locked away for the rest of his life. Period.

Youth worker usually means someone who works with youths - i.e., the juvenile inmates. And there are a lot of persons who work at juvenile detention centers who are not guards, from janitors, to healthcare personnel, to teachers, and all sorts of other jobs.

Frankly, her age doesn't matter. This worthless kid is going to keep attacking, because it has nothing to do with age or gender. He's broken.
