here's what i have listed for girlfriends if it helps:
1992 – 199[?7] German gf#1 spent time with her in children’s home. Ran away with her to portugal. Spent 1.5 years with her in finca. Rows. She left him for someone else. 'He said to me once that if he ever found her he would kill her' – comment made by CB to Berkshire gf – doesn’t sound like NF – who CB actually went back to stay with.

German gf#2 NF – {was she actually a girlfriend?}

2004-2005 English gf#1 aka Berkshire gf, 30-31, met CB in Lagos. spring 2004. Friends. Then dating for nearly a year 2004 to mid-2005. 2 years older than CB [she is aged 45 in 2020].

2007 English gf#2 – CB had a meal with a gf on the night of may 2 2007

2007-2008 AB - He only talked about his girlfriend Maria – I think she was English and was working in Portugal. He said he missed her all the time. {Possibly English gf #2?}

2014 gf NM, 25, had an 18-month relationship with CB in 2014 when she was 17-years-old {or 19} and was the subject of violent abuse from CB. she lived around the corner from CB Kiosk. Bruckner reportedly seduced NM in Germany when she was still a teenager. She went to Portugal with him in 2014 but was deported a few months later over allegations of criminality. 2020 back in Braunschweig. sister AM. NM is Albanian from Macedonia

Sun's angle above horizon at true noon (the highest it gets)
= 29.8° at midwinter
= 53.3° at spring and autumn equinoxes
= 76.8° at midsummer
Now look at the VW's own shadow on the ground beneath it in the Malaga photo.
And estimate the sun's elevation angle above the horizon.
And in this way find the time of year.
What do you reckon?

I like your idea. In some cases of pics or vids, it's possible to calculate an exact date if the angle of the sun is known and the time the pic was taken is known. I know it's too much to hope for, but I'll ask anyway. Is there any chance the pic was timestamped? If it was, we can calculate potentially to the day.

I don't think they know, but the patio door was unlocked, and the sniffer dogs lost the scent at the car park, not sure which car park, as 2 are close by

I wonder if that is accurate. We know he was living there a few weeks after MM but was he actually living there when it happened?

Might be reading too much into this, but he said "there are reasons to believe that there are other people besides the suspect who know how that night went... maybe they even know where the body was left".

This is interesting to me firstly because he says "reasons" (plural). This might be a reach on my part, but that may mean that they have more than one thing that suggests other people (again, people is plural) might know how it went down that night (night is singular). It makes me think they must have witness statement(s) from someone who was there, or who heard about it all second hand and they need solid proof of it - or others to come forward to corroborate. It also made me think whatever happened to that kid, happened in one night, vs being trafficked or passed about. Just thinking of possibilities and again, its probably way over reading into it...

I agree with you on reasons. We can hope that it was just one night, and I could see how the statement could be interpreted that way. That poor, poor child. I'm opposed to the death penalty. But cases in which there is a remorseless serial offender, they really make me want to sit on the fence on the issue.

I cannot imagine the horrors that every single member of the M family has endured. I'm amazed that they had the strength to go on at all, let alone together, providing for and parenting their other children, and also professionally. I'd absolutely fall to bits and probably not recover. I admire their strength and commitment.

IMO German police probably know the dates and times of all 3 VW photos, which they would get IMO from the metadata inside the original picture files, also maybe from the original filenames which on some camera incorporte the date and time. But all that is assuming the clock on the camera was set correctly.
BTW outside this case but lots of good investigative work to identify locations and dates of photos from only a few obscure background details is done by Bellingcat contributors.

IMHO:

1. They entered through front door with a key (1a and 1b) and may have passed child through window to someone outside. Perhaps this was the only task for abductor de facto.

2. Abduction probably occurred much earlier than stated because this was a quite well planned abduction. So they had apartment controlled under the slightest detail. So when would they act? Just after parents left or would they wait 1 hour or more?

(1a) Many years after abduction a retired OC's employee told a set of keys for entire block 5 was lost the week before abduction. He never told that before because he was afraid of the guy who trusted the keys, and left them in safe. This guy was fired because he was involved in thefts in OC. In:

(1b) Of course they could have used patio door. But they didn't for a reason: this was a very well planned abduction, so they had no guarantees in advance about patio door and it was much safer and smooth to have a font door's key.

I have been thinking since last night about several things mentioned here.
1. Why does the ex gf have 2 photos, one of a lake, and other a wood amongst unrelated photos? What do they mean? Is she trying to say something?
2. Is there a connection between a bag of bones found in Germany and Portugal? And also the rope 1 used in rape and 2 found in the sea? Do they look similar in style?
3. Is CB actually guilty at all, as he has no record that he ever committed a murder?
He is known for selling dodgy stuff and also when he gets drunk he gets dodgy interests. 4. If it was him indeed how did he succeed to fool police forces for so long? Poker-faced, clever, manipulative, what is it?
5. And this one is the most important: If it was him, was he a lone wolf or this was an order or he was a part of a team?
6. Is there a connection between "underground sources" who informed the Portuguese solicitor who did the lake examination and CB? The solicitor would surely know that.

Just in case there was any doubt about the exact location of the VW beach photo, I've pinpointed it below. As you can see from the Picasa photo from April 2018, the clifftops and vegetation are an exact match for Barranco beach:

We also know that the outward appearance of the VW in the Malaga photo represents how the vehicle would have looked prior to 2011. Since the rear sticker and rust marks in the VW Barranco photo match those visible in the Malago photo almost exactly, then we can also surmise that the Barranco photo was taken not long before or after the Malaga photo. (As others have stated, it seems logical to assume that the cartoon graffiti was only added after the vehicle was sold in 2015 and used as a children's party bus).

Those X marks on the ground at the cliff edge are indeed quite sinister, as they appear to denote a spot at the top of the cliffs which is exactly in the middle of the Barranco VW photo (makes me think of the Brady / Hindley photos on the moors).

According to the satellite images of this location, the X marks were not there on 22/06/2007. They appeared at some time between 07/08/2016 and 17/06/2018:

Another point to note:

According to several websites, Barranco Beach is one of 8 officially designated nudist beaches in Portugal. Given what we know about CB's habits, could it be that his reason for parking the VW right slap-bang on the sand was more to do with covert photography than selling drugs to hippies?

Here's a photo from March 2019 depicting the clifftop location of the X marks. They don't actually seem to be there on the ground, so maybe the X marks were actually drawn onto the 2018 satellite photo itself, for some reason?

Yes, he's been extradited back to Germany 3 times, twice from Portugal (1999 and 2017) and once from Italy (2018).

Does anyone know approximately how much prison time has he served in total? And how many separate attacks are on his sheet? TIA

Update from July 3rd, 2.30 p.m .: In the case of the missing Maddie McCann, there seems to be a new turning point. Finally, the lawyer of the suspect Christian B. spoke up in an interview with RTL (see below). Now he could be right: As the "Spiegel" reports, the public prosecutor's office in Braunschweig sees "no urgent suspicion" of the accused. That said the first prosecutor Christian Wolters.
"We assume that Christian B. will remain in custody at least until the beginning of 2021 for other offenses," the prosecutor added, which is why there is no time pressure in the investigation.
The suspect is currently in prison for a drug offense. Christian B. has not yet commented on the accusations.

I couldn't disagree more with Braunschweig's prosecutor. An abduction investigation is very urgent and he couldn't feel relieved just because he's on custody for another reason. If you don't like it too offense, I'd even say it's even ridicule for a competent investigator.

First of all, he never admitted he's any evidence she's dead (among his controversial statements ob the subject he said "99.9% of us believe"), so she can be alive!

Second, he doesn't know what happened and CB can be but a tip of iceberg, and he's losing precious time, especially because of non-extendable prescription rules.

Third, until he presents valid evidence before a court of law, CB may not even have any role in MM's disappearance and someone may be laughing. There's one extra problem. People die, even CB some day, and they may never receive justice for their crime, like Manfred Seed.

those neighbours were the ones next door to the finca. they were the neighbours that cleared the finca in 2006. it is clear that he was no longer living at the finca in may 2007.

DLK, I'm answering to what neighbors said in RTP's report. They said they never saw him there (near they home). If you need exact time to check, let me know and I'll search in the video. D is corroborating me on the post before.
