I don't know what $100 K will ''buy'' in terms of assistance in finding the truth ??

"Steve Duffield managing director of Fugro ... was upbeat that the technology was up to the job.
The nature of the work is similar to what we do every day," he said.
The law of averages say we could find it as easily on day one as on day 365."

"Irene Burrows from Brisbane who lost her son Rodney Burrows and his wife Mary on the flight, said ...

"I felt it had been forgotten and neglected but I had a ring from deputy prime minster [Warren Truss] and he informed me it hadn't and they were doing surveys beneath the water. He said it might take 12 months, it might take two years. He assured me that it will carry on. They assure me they are pretty sure this is where the plane is."

She said she didn't ever envisage there would be bodies from MH370 to bury.
"If they find the plane I just want it left there. Leave everything as it is."

The search for MH370
Deep secrets

New analysis and sophisticated mapping technology have narrowed the search for the missing Malaysian airliner

New analysis of satellite data has narrowed the area in which the aircraft might have come down from some 600,000 square kilometres to a 60,000 square kilometre strip of ocean, 650km long and 93km wide (see map).

A detailed survey of the sea bed in that area has revealed its contours (including the two volcanoes).

A lot depends on the contour mapping. This will allow the towfish to be operated safely in a part of the ocean that had remained largely unexplored.
It reveals a dramatic subsea environment. In one place, near Broken Ridge, the depth is 600 metres but in a short distance falls away to 6,600 metres.

FRESH seabed mapping of the MH370 search area has detected hard objects which are inconsistent with the region where searchers believe the plane may have come down.

The objects have been identified with satellite-tracking data and flight-simulation analysis, The Times reports.

Australian Transport Safety Bureau Chief Commissioner Martin Dolan told The Times that they were not sure if the objects were plane wreckage, and said they could be rock formations.

“There is nothing that has screamed out and said ‘I look like an aircraft’,” he said.

“It’s still a hell of an area. The area is horribly, horribly complicated.”

Australia: Hard areas found in MH370 search zone unlikely to be man-made

“We have detected a number of areas where there are small areas that are relatively harder than the surrounding rock. There’s multiple detections of this sort,” said Martin Dolan, chief commissioner of the Australian Transport Safety Bureau, which is overseeing the underwater search.

“It’s unlikely to be a man-made object, much more likely to be a geological formation,” Dolan told CNN. “Nevertheless, we will feed all this information into our overall planning of our search of the priority areas for the location of MH370.”

The hunt for Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 enters a new phase in September, as investigators intensify their search of a refined area of about 60,000 sq km.

This refined search area is located 1,800km (1,100 miles) off the west coast of the Australian city of Perth.

Using specialist equipment to survey the ocean floor, teams searching for wreckage of the plane have been mapping the sea bed.

Until now, knowledge of this part of the ocean floor was limited, but the mapping will allow targeted searches to take place.

MH370 search to resume in two weeks; Australia, Malaysia to share cost

The search for Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 will resume in about two weeks, with Australia and Malaysia splitting the cost to the tune of A$60 million each (S$71 million), Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott said on Saturday.

"It will commence in about a fortnight's time with the best available technology and continue until all humanly possible efforts are taken to scour the zone," Abbott said during a one-day visit to Kuala Lumpur.

Fox News TV published Sat 23 Aug 2014, more news in regards to
retired Air Force Lt. General Thomas McInerney interview.
"Ret. Lt. Gen. Thomas McInerney told Fox News Channel's "America's News HQ" host Uma Pemmaraju on Saturday that United States might be witness to another terror attack on September 11 this year, according to Breitbart.
In the interview, the missing Malaysia Airlines jet MH370 was also referenced by McInerney.
"On the 7th of September, a major News Network and Publishing Network are going to put out a Book.
It is going to be Earth Shattering of what's happening and what happened. The fact is we may even
see a 9/11/14 MH-370 surface again. We should go to DEFCON 1, our highest state of readiness and
be prepared as we lead up to 9/11," he said.
When Pemmaraju asked, "When you say a major news organization is coming forward with a publication, what
are you referring to specifically? Can you allude to that, give us more details?"
McInerney responded, "I can't give you any more than what I've just said. "

are either kate or her husband still posting here? or maybe someone else can explain what appears to be a contradiction: kate mentioned she was the only witness to what she saw that night... her words: "no corroborating witnesses". yet, on the duncan steele website, she states "our crew had seen it too"...

am i misinterpreting what kate stated on ds.com? has the story changed? or... ?? thanks.

Australian and Chinese vessels have been building a complex map of the ocean floor through a so-called bathymetric study.
Those maps will guide search teams who are set to restart the hunt for Flight 370 in late September as part of a one-year, £29.5 million expedition. It is being conducted by Fugro, a Dutch engineering firm, and by the Australian Transport Safety Bureau, Australia's equivalent to the UK's Air Accidents Investigation Branch.

Three vessels will be deployed, including one hired by Malaysia. China, which had 153 passengers on the plane and is therefore the other major player in the mystery, has not so far volunteered either to take part in or to help fund the operation.

MH370 Update: Families Wary Of Another 'Disappointment' In Renewed Search In October

http://au.ibtimes.com/articles/5655...sia-airlines-undersea-search.htm#.VA8HC8JdVXE

The ATSB commissioner said he doesn't want to keep the hopes up of families whose loved ones were lost in the plane. Although he did not want to encourage hope, he also did not want them to completely give up. He said investigators have a "reasonable prospect" but there was no guarantee of finding anything.

In the six months of searching for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, investigators haven’t found a trace of the Boeing 777, but they have made groundbreaking scientific discoveries that could provide new insight into the ocean and the world

http://www.foxnews.com/science/2014...omes-up-short-but-unlocks-scientific-secrets/

“We’ve already found seamounts and volcanoes that were unknown and uncharted,” according to Dr. Stuart Minchin, with Geoscience Australia, the federal agency charged with analyzing and interpreting data from the search.

The deep-sea mountains, ridges, cliffs and fault lines found during the search could be helpful in predicting tsunamis, forecasting ocean currents, and better understanding how continents formed and the world evolved, according to Minchin.

The massive multi-national effort has now evolved into an unprecedented science mission.

“It’s very unusual to survey such a large area, and particularly because it’s quite a way from the Australian coast.”

Can you give me a link please?
I think I have an idea of what you're referencing but am not positive. Kate was the only one that saw the plane but they all saw bright lights on the water for a few nights in a row.

i don't have the link anymore -- sorry! i cleared my history a few days ago... but it was under a post / article on the duncan steele website... kate made a comment in the comment section... i was just curious if she remembered something else... since she and her hubs are so adamant the search area is wrong.

where is this plane???!!!

thanks for the help :)
