New Daily Mail article I don't know what to make of this sorry if it has already been posted and discussed.

"A satellite image appears to show the missing Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 in the skies above a jungle.
The image is taken from Tomnod, the map search website currently being used by hundreds of thousands of people in an attempt to search for missing passenger plane, was posted on Reddit on Sunday.
The authenticity of the photo has not yet been verified and the region depicted in the photo is as yet unknown. Intriguingly, the plane appears to have been painted white."

If it was real tomnod would know exactly where this is. It doesn't look like it crashed and the jungle area looks pretty dense. Not sure the wings would be as intact as they appear. Hope to hear more. Do we know a location?

In all likelihood, the villagers just saw a low-flying plane that wasn't MH-370.

The claims, which have not been confirmed, follow reports of satellite signals leading authorities to concentrate on two possible areas – central Asia and the Indian Ocean.

The eyewitnesses reportedly told the island Councilor Mohamed Zaheem the plane was white with red markings, much like the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, flying over the island chain.

"I've never seen a jet flying so low over our island before,” a resident told the newspaper. “We've seen seaplanes, but I'm sure that this was not one of those. I could even make out the doors on the plane clearly," san eyewitness told the newspaper. "It's not just me either, several other residents have reported seeing the exact same thing. Some people got out of their houses to see what was causing the tremendous noise too."

The chances of another aircraft of that size flying over the island at the time were, according to Maldives sources, very low.

This was false. It has been doing the rounds for about aweek now. I did have the coordinates for google maps which I can't find now. Its a plane coming into land and if you pan out you can actually see the runway up ahead.

The change in direction was made at least 12 minutes before co-pilot Fariq Abdul Hamid said "All right, good night," to controllers on the ground, the sources said.

The revelation further indicates that the aircraft's mysterious turnaround was planned and executed in the cockpit before controllers lost contact with Flight 370. But it doesn't necessarily indicate an ulterior motive.

we were looking at that image and discussing it here on Sunday on WS on Thread 6 or 7

It's not in a jungle..I scanned the tiles all around the tile showing the white plane(at first I thought and asked if it as photoshopped)
anyway the tiles around that image shows..it's an inhabited area, a forested area with ..roads, homes,buildings..even a water dam is close by

there is no disturbance in the trees
my conclusion was its a plane in flight

though it looks like it's glowing

Nymeria..do you still have the tomnod link to the ghostly looking plane?

Man, excellent questions.

Is it confirmed that at the 8:11 ping the plane was at 35k feet?

Nope. They haven't revealed the altitude if they know it.

And was it 8:11 Malay time?

Yes.

And how do they know it was MH370?

They haven't specified. We know it was the ACARS system responding to a ping sent by the satellite. I don't know if it sent back enough info in response to identify itself as MH-370 or if they just deduced it as the only 777 possible. Good question.

That photo is days old (as in was posted days ago - I’m pretty sure it’s even made the rounds on one of the threads on this site), and if I’m not mistaken, is of a plane still in flight. I’m not sure either why they’re making such a big deal about the plane being white, because the Malaysian Airlines planes are white, aren’t they? With stripes? I’m not sure you’d be able to make out the stripes in a photo of that resolution.

Was the keystrokes entered change in flight plan only directional or did it specify a destination? I don't think we have heard.

all I heard from experts is that the coordinates entered was common navigational route

Thank you. But how did you determine that the arc is 4 hours flying time away from the Maldives?

I measured the approximate flying time using the map of the Maldives location and photo #2 (which includes MH-370 flying range per hour).

Its not a 777... The wingspan ratio isn't high enough...

"If" this was a terrorist act it sure seems we may be dealing with a "new breed" :scared:

WHAT????

OMG.....it was probably done before the crew got onto this plane.

OMG.

They need to look at people like clean-up crew, crew that fueled the plane, loaded the bags, etc..

Some aviation engineer or pilot was disguising himself as one of these people.
