Are you suggesting that Britain's AAIB and Immersat are in on some sort of coverup? That they briefed the Malaysian PM falsely?

IMO not doubting the British AAIB, rather, the situation and how the Malaysian gov't has handled it.

At least it gives the rest of the world closure in knowing that the plane is not in the hands of terrorists or anyone looking to turn it into a flying bomb.

RIP MH370 :please:

If I were a family member waiting for news on my loved ones life, I think it's the word "assume" that would trouble me the most.

Missing MH370 'Ended' in Indian Ocean, Malaysia's PM Says

By Henry Austin and Alexander Smith

New satellite data analysis has confirmed that missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 crashed into the southern Indian Ocean, Malaysia's prime minister told a news conference on Monday.

Najib Razak said flight data suggested that the Boeing 777's "last position was in the middle of the Indian Ocean west of Perth, [Australia]."

He added: “This is a remote location, far from any possible landing site. It is therefore with deep sadness and regret that according to this data the flight ended in the southern Indian Ocean.” ...

Paul Edwards, former chief of staff of British Army Aviation, told Britain’s Sky News the sightings were “quite significant”.

“It is certainly encouraging because of the shape, because of the colour orange obviously, it could be from the aircraft.

“The good news is that the aircraft has spotted it and surface ships are in the area which means that quite quickly we’re going to get an Australian warship alongside to get eyes on it, and actually identify it and – if it’s small – fish it out of the sea. To me that’s quite a significant development and very encouraging.

Professor Chris Bellamy, from Britain’s Greenwich Maritime Institute, said the orange items could possibly be life rafts.

I'd be willing to bet they already have. The public just hasn't been told. Now that the families have been told no survivors, I would expect that would be the next shoe to drop. Something was found from the plane. :twocents:

We have heard about satellites, pings, images, etc. for weeks now. I am sorry but unless someone pulls a piece of debris from that ocean, looks at it, and then is able to say that the debris is definitely from the plane, I will never know exactly where that plane is.

In addition to analyses of satellite data, I should think 'information' has been gathered and shared by cooperating intelligence agencies around the world which would corroborate the highjacking theory.

(CNN) -
Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 went down over the southern Indian Ocean, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak said Monday, citing a new analysis of satellite data by a British satellite company and accident investigators.

The announcement appeared to rule out the possibility that anyone could have survived whatever happened to the aircraft, which vanished more than two weeks ago with 239 people aboard.

As Razak spoke, airline representatives met with family members in Beijing. "They have told us all lives are lost," one relative of a missing passenger told CNN...
