As some posters have asked previously... What is happening in Russia right about now?

Why has Russia not been asked... Or offered... To provide any tech assistance in this search for the plane?

:dunno:

I posted this late last night so I'm not sure if anyone responded/how many saw, but I wanted to repost it because they are searching the Indian Ocean:

Has anyone mentioned this?

I am not particularly knowledgeable about airplanes, but does this hint that they did receive some kind of information that the airplane's engine stopped suddenly/crashed vs information that would imply it landed? To me, accident would mean no intention of taking/hiding/hijacking/suicide, but I suppose you could purposefully deviate from the original flight plan for one of those reasons and still accidentally crash. Idk, this has been days of confusing statements.

9/11 was the most sophisticated terrorist attack ever, and that relied heavily on lax security to happen. For the terrorists to get a plane and crash it in a building, while the most powerful countries in the world do not know where it is, have no intelligence about what will happen, can not stop it, etc would require a whole other level of sophistication.

This just gets crazier and crazier. :scared:

As I have posted more than once, someone does not want this plane found.

Going back to one of my earlier posts:

data transmitted by an onboard monitoring system to Rolls-Royce Plc., the engine manufacturer, suggested that the plane flew for up to five hours in total after its takeoff from Kuala Lumpur at 12:21 a.m. Saturday morning.

Right, but to declare it is "officially an accident" seems like a pretty big jump for information suggesting the plane flew for an additional 5 hours IMO. If a hijacking is seriously being considered, I can't figure out why an RR executive would categorize it that way, unless the information RR received went beyond the possible 5 hour flight time.

Based on the latest news and lack thereof, ALL scenarios previously discussed are on the table...I am still focused on the co-pilot. I've tried letting it go, and maybe I'm just being naive in my thinking...His age is what jumped out at me from day 1. He is 27 years old and has been with the airlines since he was 20! He carries a Muslim name and with his prior smoking on board, in flight, convinces me he lacks respect for his position. IMO....in all honesty, everyone on board is looking suspect now ;-)

I have had a bad feeling about the co-pilot early on, but held back on saying it. However, since the two with fake passports seem to be cleared of terrorist involvement, why has there been nothing similar saying the pilots are unlikely to be behind this missing plane? This is so baffling...

This is just making my head pound. I think the US knows what's going on, but out of respect they are letting the 3 ring circus handle it. I really hope they find this plane if they don't it will be one big blunder for the entire world and it will force countries and companies to change a lot of procedures so it doesn't happen again. Also que speculation that the plane was taken by aliens or through some vortex and is gone.

http://www.theguardian.com/world/bl...is-detected-by-chinese-satellite-live-updates

The Pentagon has told the Guardian that the US is moving the USS Kidd destroyer northwest through the Strait of Malacca.

A Pentagon spokesman said he could not confirm that the Pentagon was moving the USS Kidd to search the Indian Ocean but that it is searching the Strait of Malacca, the same area searched by a P-3C surveillance aircraft a few days ago.

The above link keeps updating. The Strait is "sort of" part of the Indian Ocean, so if that is where they are, I hope they know what they are doing and where they are sending searchers.

:dunno:

This has taken a lot of the focus off Ukraine and Russia hasn't it?

With our military capabilities, I wouldn't think we would need to travel deep into the Indian ocean..read more at link.

USS Kidd joins USS Pinckney in Search Efforts of Flight MH370

Kidd brings the same Arleigh-Burke Class capabilities as Pinckney with its two MH-60R Seahawk helicopters which are designed for search and rescue, as well as anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, surveillance, communications relay, naval gunfire support and logistics support.*

Both ships have crews of more than 300 Sailors each and are multi-mission ships designed to operate independently or with an associated strike group.

The US Navy still has one maritime patrol aircraft, a P-3C Orion from the Grey Knights of Patrol Squadron 46 (VP-46), on station flying from Subang Jaya, Malaysia.
