The waterfall is just a little over one mile away from the cabin.

And there is a marked trail, that people walk along frequently, to go to the falls and back.

I think it is very possible that she followed the trail that morning, and slipped on a narrow pathway on the hillside.

But it is also possible someone placed her there, at some point, as well.

If you click this link you can see The Dusun marked on the left, and the Lata Berembun waterfall on the right of the image (if that's the correct waterfall, and if that location is correct)

Google Maps

I don't see a river... on the map. In the pictures it looks like there might be a shallow river there.

If Nora had walked there would not the tracker dogs picked up her scent.

Assuming she’s been in the water since Aug 4...decomp....usually a body that’s been in the water....does the extent of decomp match her being in the water that long under the current temp variables? I’m reading her parents were called in to make the ID?

If I understand correctly the body was located BY the waterfall, not actually in the water.

That's what we were thinking. That he saw her body and then she was swept over the waterfall. I'm still not sure that's possible as I haven't found what's at the TOP of the waterfall.

However, this waterfall is simply amazing. It's not a drop off, it's like 7 tiers. Sort of like a really big and dangerous water slide. It's absolutely gorgeous.

There is deep water there as well. This site being about rain forests gives a pretty good overview. Though, it obviously isn't talking about accessing it from the resort.

This one details the tiers a little bit more and the water at the bottom. There are countless other photos and videos out there. I just picked the two from official websites.

I can't think of very many more beautiful places in the world than this waterfall. Maybe that will bring Nora's parents some level of comfort. It did for me when a family member died at the base of a gorgeous waterfall.

"Hours before the body was found volunteer searcher Shirley Yap told MailOnline they were going to look around a waterfall.

She said: 'We had heard she was excited about seeing a waterfall when she arrived in the resort.

'We are going to look around that area and follow the stream down the mountain'."

I think that is the answer. She tried to make her own way to the waterfall.

Though I still think the father's first words of a 'crime' having been committed are odd.

This is so very sad news but relieved that they at least found her. It was said that N would never have gone off on her own so if she did leave the cabin on her own, is it not really strange after it being said that she would never have done this?

What? Surely if you knew that, it would be the first place to suggest looking?
