i thought the biting comment was related to the march car incident?

Yeah it was, here at this link is her directing her son to report/record what happens.

In earlier traffic stop, police say, Randallstown woman killed by officers said they'd have to 'murder' her

Here is video of her in the apartment telling her son that the police want to kill them.

Korryn Gaines: Video by mother killed during stand-off with police shows her son saying ‘they trying to kill us’

<modsnip>

We've got mental illness, easy access to guns, sovereign citizen beliefs, egging on from social media, and cops trying to serve a warrant. Put those things together and we've got a recipe for disaster. :(

That poor child.

i'd like to add 1 more item - resisting arrest. all the cops that i've talked to said it's a rare occurrence when somebody is arrested without a fight or resistance.

i hope both children are being taken care of by a responsible person.

A 7 hour standoff. Clearly there was hope - at least at the outset - for a peaceful ending.

Look her up here, it appears that the lead paint case was dimissed and that there was a custody dispute with the boy's dad.

I noticed she didn't have a problem with using the legal system when it was potentially to her benefit. IMO, someone who refuses to obey the laws of the land while feeling entitled to use the law when it's to their advantage is a pathetic hypocrite. JMO

It makes me sick to think people would encourage anyone with a child to not comply with officers in what was a very dangerous situation. That's like throwing water on a grease fire. Why would anyone make statements that would only escalate a situation?!? What is wrong with people? I worry for this young boy, all that he has seen and heard during his short, impressionable time...his mothers death, and his injury, although brought on by her actions, could simply reaffirm any negative thoughts he probably has of LE.
This reminds me of staff at a facility where I worked when I was in healthcare. Some staff were noncompliant and spread their attitude to coworkers. Most were subtle about it but would encourage newbies to not perform job duties and especially played on the vulnerability of one woman who had a learning disability. They convinced the woman she had a right to neglect her duties, so she thought she was being cool when she defied her supervisors. When she'd get into trouble, the staff who were egging her on would laugh behind her back. She was eventually dismissed for abusing a patient.

People who play on the vulnerabilities of the weak for sport are cowards and often it ends with someone getting hurt.

Oh no, that is just plain evil and nasty to encourage non-cooperation in someone else and then laugh at the sad results for that person.

It sounds like Korryn was pushing for a suicide by cop scenario from the time the she got the traffic ticket. She seemed to have it in her mind that she could die for some cause, and now she's dead because of a traffic ticket she deserved.

Young and full of ideas she was super powerful or a hero for the cause, or some other fancy idea of herself. Yes, thinking she could live outside the rules of the system, but use the system. People on social media egging her on are the nasty antagonists who don't really care. They're going to want to stir up more trouble now by blaming LE, but the fact is this girl had made up her mind for suicide by cop. This is my own opinion.

Her mother has made some statements about how absolutely stubborn she could be and you couldn't reason with her. I guess her father was trying to work with police to reason with her. It must have been very frustrating for those around her who loved her, wanted to protect her, and especially protect those children. I see this as a suicide by cop, and not some hero sacrifice to the cause. MOO, she was mentally disturbed.

she obviously had rage issues and was probably bi polar its sad we have no system in place for that , (I experience it too) something needs to be done about gun access and mentally illness, I just don't know what :(

Looking back at the judiciary case search I linked I noticed the lead paint case was dismissed on 6/29/16 just 4 weeks ago.

I haven't had time to dive into her legal battle regarding the lead poisoning. What's the story on that? Can you post any info on it? Did it really seem she was exposed to massive amounts of lead that might have caused her issues?

She may be a new member of sovereign nation

I just finished watching the whole 20 minute traffic stop video. This is the crap LE has to deal with? The officer even entertained her by her showing his ID. Unreal!! Telling her Son to fight!! OMG!

This lady was a 24k whack job!!!

I would hope that LE wrote a report about her and the car and noted her sovereign nation discussion,

Since LE in Dallas was killed by a sovereign nation guy, wouldn't one think that LE would be wary of sovereign nation people?

I wonder why that did not alert that there are issues and perhaps they should deal with this person and perhaps her boyfriend in a carefully analyzed manner?

baltimore sun says court docs released today - but couldn't find a pdf file yet. here we go again with misinformation - now we're back to 2 cops serving the warrant:|

According to the newly released court documents, two officers arrived at the Carriage Hill Apartments on Sulky Court about 9:10 a.m. to serve Gaines and Courtney with those warrants.

edit: police report of march incident - both kids in car

http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/ma...port-of-korryn-gaines-20160802-htmlstory.html

First two warrants: "Officers initially went to the home to serve warrants on Gaines and her boyfriend, Kareem Kiean Courtney, 39, in separate cases."
Then after obtaining a key and apparently having to kick the door open they observed her sitting on the floor holding a shotgun and pointing it at the officer/s they left and called for backup.
Here's where the second warrant came in: "Police went to obtain the warrant for Gaines, which a court commissioner signed. It was issued at 12:43 p.m. Monday and charges her with first- and second-degree assault, obstructing and hindering, and resisting or interfering with arrest."

Thank You both. Wow, she had a list of legal stuff that has gone on in her life.

Lead Poison case was opened in 2012
Not sure her lead poisoning law suit Case # 24C12005655 was totally dismissed.
I found a page long list of proceedings concerning the case.

One entry at bottom of page says:
File Date: 06/29/2016 Entered Date: 07/11/2016
Decision: left blank

Document Name: Motion to Defer MD Rule 2-507 Dismissal

The prior year on 6/1/2015 it said "Ordered that this action is Stayed as to all claims against Deft City Homes III, LLC, Orderd that the stay is subject to Md Rule 2-507. Judge Handy"

I don't know what this means though.
