Sounds like even though they are not point blank saying it they have three adults as POIs. Saying that Ayla was not abducted from that home. That tells me that they believe that someone in that house harmed Ayla.

this case is open and active until they find her

Believe that foul play is involved and have thought so since the beginning. Right now it is a missing person case. Justin is free to go just as you and I are.

She didn't leave on her own because she's so young, and she wasn't abducted. She was in her father's custody and they think he knows more than he's told, and the others in the home or associated with them may have more information.

Not speculating about charging.
They believe foul play is involved, clear ffrom the first week or two, it's a criminal investigation. They will not stop until they find her. It's a missing person's investigation until they determine otherwise

He is free to go just as you and I (I didn't hear the question, assuming it refers to JDP)
