Video Shows Stepmom Under Hypnosis
Haleigh's Stepmom Agreed To Go Under On Monday To Clear Her Name

Misty agreed to go under earlier this week in Central Florida. She said she did it to clear her name.

The video shows an expert trying to hypnotize Misty to help her remember what happened the night of Feb. 10 just before Haleigh disappeared.

Despite her story, the expert said the attempt to hypnotize Misty failed because Misty seemed to be fighting going under.

Ward keeps asking her on the tape why she's holding back information.

"I can see it," Ward said to Misty. "There's things going on with you about Haleigh going missing that you're not telling anybody."

"There's nothing that I'm not telling nobody," Misty told Ward. "I've told everybody everything that I know. I don't know what you're trying to get out of me. I'm 17 years old. I mean, what do you think? How much can a 17-year-old take?"

Expert: Misty Has Doubt About Haleigh's Dad

The expert says Misty wasn't totally under and the test was inconclusive.
More telling was the second test Misty did that same day, a layered voice analysis.

"Do you know of any person that would bother Haleigh?" asked Ward. Misty replied, "I really didn't know a lot of people. I have suspicions, yeah."

Police have asked us not to release that part of the tape.

Misty was then asked about Ronald Cummings, Haleigh's dad and her new husband. It was that questioning which puzzled the expert.

"Ronald had nothing to do with his daughter. He loves his daughter more than anything in this world," Misty told Ward.

He then told her, "When I asked you that, it came up and said you are not sure. Why is there doubt in your mind?"

Misty replied, "I don't know. I don't know if there's doubt in my mind, really Ronald didn't have nothing to do with his daughter, I can tell you that."

Ward then asked Misty, "What do you think happened to Haleigh?"

Misty replied, "I don't know what's happened to her. I mean I don't think she's dead, and I don't think she's dead at all. Everyone keeps saying she could be, I don't think Haleigh's dead."

Is the last person who saw a missing Putnam County girl alive lying? Eyewitness News obtained the video taken while Misty Croslin-Cummings took a lie detector test to prove she didn't have anything to do with the disappearance of 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings.

The man who gave her the test says Misty failed it miserably.

"There's nothing I'm not telling you. I've told you everything that I know," she said during the polygraph test.

Lie detectors or the hypnosis tests are not admissible in court and investigators say there is nothing at this point to charge Misty with in connection with Haleigh's disappearance.

She says she knows where to look for a missing Putnam County girl. Misty Croslin Cummings told searchers to look for a rose in an undisclosed area.

Investigators found the rose and are now processing it as evidence in the disappearance of 3-year-old Haleigh Cummings. Searchers will comb the area this weekend.

Cummings hopes to clear her name, agreeing to talk with forensic hypnotist, John Gastar. You can draw your own conclusion, as you watch the video shot by a freelance photographer at the request of Texas Equusearch founder, Tim Miller.

Haleigh's Old Home Has New Tenant

Haleigh Cummings' home in Satsuma, the one she was taken from in Orlando, has sat empty since the night she disappeared.

However, earlier this month, a woman moved into it.

She wants to keep a low profile, so we'll call her Jane.

Jane had even followed news reports about Haleigh's disappearance which started in February. She had seen the house, inside and out, on national television.

Jane said she doesn't mind living in the home, even if it has been on national television and associated with a tragic case of a missing child.

In fact, she feels a little closer to Haleigh now.

"To think that she was actually here and played here and then one one night she didn't anymore," Jane shook her head. "I can kind of see her, more than watching her on television."

Searchers look for Haleigh and Tracy

Searches are underway for two of Florida’s missing people.

A team of specialized search and rescue volunteers are in Ocoee this weekend looking for clues into the disappearance of Tracy Ocasio. The 27-year-old woman went missing in May after leaving the Tap Room bar in Metrowest with James Hataway, a person of interest in her disappearance.

Members of Equusearch, the Texas-based search team, are once again searching an area near the home of Ronald Cummings, whose 4-year-old daughter Haleigh Cummings vanished from the family’s trailer in March.

Under hypnosis, Ronald Cumming’s 17-year-old wife Misty Croslin Cummings told searchers to look for Haleigh near a rose left in an undisclosed area in Putnam County.

Based on that tip, Equusearch on Saturday headed back out to Satsuma to search for leads in the case.

Fox 35 has crews at both search locations. Watch FOx 35 News at 7 and 10 for more on these developing stories.

EcuuSearch completed their Saturday search without finding Haleigh Cummings but still calling the day a success.

Along with Putnam County officials, EccuSearch spent a hot Saturday searching an area previously covered. They deemed it a success because the reaquainted themselves with an area they will soon search again.

The teams were out again after a comment by Misty Croslin-Cummings revealed a possible new detail. According to the Gainesville Sun, Croslin-Cummings mentioned something about a fake rose and that was enough for EquuSearch to begin a new hunt for clues.

First Coast News has learned that EquuSearch is leading the operation and Putnam County officials are monitoring.

Earlier this month Croslin-Cummings allegedly told the founder of the private, search firm from Texas that there was an area that may not have been adequately searched for the little girl.

In a news release issued Monday morning, sheriff's spokesman Lt. Johnny Greenwood said it was a policy of the agency not to release specific details about interviews or searches but made the following statements.

"I can confirm that Misty Cummings brother, Tommy Croslin, was interviewed regarding comments made by Misty Cummings during her questioning by private sources earlier in the month. The Putnam County Sheriff's Office also participated in a search with members of Texas Equusearch on Saturday 8/29. The search was focused on an area mentioned by Misty Cummings during her questioning by the private sources. Neither the interview, nor the search, provided any new information to investigators. As with all tips; investigators diligently reviewed the videotaped interviews conducted with Misty Cummings looking for any new investigative leads."

Haleigh's Dad Defends His Wife On TV

POSTED: Tuesday, September 1, 2009

"Snip" JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Ronald C spoke on national TV Monday night, his first public comments since the private lie detector tests taken by his wife last week.

Cummings appeared on CNN's "Nancy Grace" and was asked about the tests Misty Cummings took with the search group, Equusearch.

"Well, until I see more physical proof of what's going on, Ms. Nancy, my concerns are still keeping Haleigh's face on the TV," Ronald said to Grace.

Terry Shoemaker, Ronald's new attorney, said despite the negative light the tests have cast on his wife, Ronald C. stands behind her 100 percent.

"He has no reason not to believe Misty at this point, and he's going to stand by her until something else comes up," Shoemaker said.

Even though it's been six months since Haleigh was last seen, Shoemaker said their focus now is to keep Haleigh's story alive, even if it means taking bad publicity along the way.

"If nothing else, it's gotten Haleigh's name back into the forefront of the media," Shoemaker said.

Ronald sent a message to the person who has his daughter Monday night.

"There's a loving family at home that needs her more than whoever has her, and you don't deserve her, so let her go so she can come home to where she belongs," Ronald Cummings said.

PCSO conducted another interview and took part in a search over the weekend as they look for clues in the disappearance of Haleigh.

Officials said both were prompted by a private lie detector test given to Misty Cummings earlier this month.

LE spoke with Tommy Croslin, the brother of Misty Cummings. They interviewed him regarding comments Misty Cummings made while she was being questioned during the lie detector test given by a PI.

Saturday, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office took part in a search with members of Equusearch. The search focused on an area mentioned by Misty Cummings during the lie detector tests.

The sheriff's office said neither the interview nor the search provided investigators with any new information.

Investigators have said there has been no sign of Haleigh, now 6 years old, since she disappeared in February.

Misty and Ronald Cummings Speak Out About Tests

<snipped>
Misty and Ronald Cummings say they hoped Tim Miller of Texas Equusearch was going to help them find Haleigh Cummings, who disappeared in February.

Instead, they claim he took them out of town and tricked them the week of August 20th.

In an interview on August 31st, Misty and Ronald Cummings talked to First Coast News' Jessica Clark in Ronald's attorney's office in St. Augustine.

Misty Cummings said, "[Miller] called on the phone and said 'I'm going to take you to Orlando to get you away because your days are numbered.' And I said okay."

However, Miller told First Coast News he only offered to take them away from the stresses in Putnam County so they could relax a little bit.

Miller said, "I asked if they wanted to get away for a couple of days to let their heads clear out."

When leaving Putnam County, Misty Cummings said Miller told her and her husband they could not bring their cell phones with them. She said she did not ask why.

Miller said, "No it's false. Ron was afraid to talk on their cell phones because Ron said his phone was tapped and Misty's phone was tapped, everybody's phone was tapped. He said it won't do any good to get away because it's a Nextel phone with GPS on it."

Ronald Cummings told Clark, "My understanding is [Miller] did not want us to be tracked, I don't know if we were being tracked by the FBI. I don't know."

Miller said the phones were "their choice. One-hundred percent their choice." Miller said he did want them to be able to reach him and their families while in Orlando, so he did purchase a prepaid phone for them.

Equusearch will conduct another search in four to six weeks, Miller said.

"We decided with the information Misty gave us to go ahead and search that area now, but we will be doing some stuff in the future too," Miller said.

Tommy Croslin, Misty Croslin-Cummings' brother, was interviewed by the sheriff's office regarding comments made by Misty during questioning by the private sources, Lt. Johnny Greenwood, spokesman, said.

"Neither the interview, nor the search, provided any new information to investigators," Greenwood said. "As with all tips, investigators diligently reviewed the videotaped interviews conducted with Misty Cummings looking for any new investigative leads."

More than 4,000 tips have been turned in since Haleigh was reported missing at 3:27 a.m. Feb. 10.
