Just introducing myself…

I'm an avid researcher, passionate about genealogy and cold cases.

I became passionate about cold cases, especially missing and unidentified persons when i was building my family tree. It all started 11 years ago, everything was going well until I got stuck with a great-great-grandfather. He vanished somewhere in South America and probably went to Mexico or the USA. Not being able to find him led me to all the missing persons and unidentified bodies websites worldwide. I still haven’t find my great-great-grandfather and, along with him, i now have I few more people (my pet cases) about whom I would like to have "my" questions answered and give them a name.

I probably won’t be of much help due to language barrier but i’ll give my best to express myself well.

Thanks for accepting my registration.

Blessings,
Pat

Hi gregjrichards and thanks!

Everyone from outside Portugal seems to love Albufeira! I love it there too! The weather is great, the beaches are beautiful and i can't get enough of that warm water... You only hear German and English (UK English mostly)... It almost feels like I've traveled to another country! :)

Regarding my future posts, i don't have much to add to this forum, but i hope i can improve my forensic vocabulary and my english overall. ;)

Blessings,

Pat

Hello Pat, very nice to meet you. I have a lot of varied interests but Websleuths and missing persons are among the top. A lot of these cases break my heart, but then there are others that prove that there is good in the world - it's all around us & that miracles do happen. I hope to run into you on the threads; will definitely be reading those of your missing family member(s) from your family tree. Registering here at Websleuths has given you access to some of the best sleuthers and I know they will do all that is within their power to assist you in your search.
Have a wonderful evening,
Melody

Hi Melody! Thanks for your kind message!
This may sound silly, but not finding what happened to my great-great grandfather, and then reading about all the unidentified people, i kinda developed a bit of anxiety. I'm the last family member on my father's side... one day i started thinking "what if i die overseas? I have no one to identify me!"... silly i know...
When i think of all these UP, it breaks my heart as well. Everyone deserves justice and a name! But as you said, Miracles do happen, and good people does exist, so, one day we will all have our questions answered! :)

Blessings,

Pat

You may get called on if we have any Portuguese translations we need doing!! And by the way, your English is already excellent, I wouldn't have guessed it wasn't your first language :)

I hope one day you find out what happened to your Great-great-grandpa.

Awww... You're just being nice...

It's not a big deal... i just find it odd... my great-grandfather never had an ID card, nor any kind of ID and yet he was a prosperous business man?! He was born in Brazil and came to his parents native Madeira Island, alone(?) at the age of 2 or 5. I found his mother's death certificate in Rio but nothing related to his father... I've followed all the leads... From Venezuela to Mexico... New York to Massachusetts... to Hawaii. It's sad not knowing where he was buried at nor what happened to him. Why he left all his children behind... Things where different back in 1900!
Anyways... thanks to this i became a family search.com volunteer indexer (portuguese, spanish and english) and an "armchair detective", passionate about cold cases! ;)

Hi! I also joined recently, and I am interested in many types of cases. My question is, do you feel like it would be okay to send a tip in about the possible location of a family member of an unclaimed person? I'm unsure of the etiquette in that sort of situation? I don't want to step on any toes if there is a reason they were left unclaimed (as awful as that sounds).

Thanks for any help!

Hi! My name is Kylie, I'm new to WS. I am from Indiana, and while I am interested in all types of cases, I am (unsurprisingly) very interested in cases related to Indiana. I have always been interested in cold cases, and what it takes to solve them. I have a case that I don't believe has been posted about here yet, but I am working toward my 10 posts so I can start a thread! If anyone is interested, the case I would like to talk about is about Tracy Sissom from Indianapolis, who was found in October 2004 in Nashville, Indiana.

Glad to be a part of this!

Hello, everyone! I’m new here, checking things out, and trying to navigate my way around. This is an amazing place and community of people! So glad to be here.
I have great interest in serial killers. I attended Bundy’s execution in Starke, and the next year was starting my first semester at UF as Rollings slaughtered five college students. I am an artist, and have art pieces in permanent collections, both public and private, that explore serial killers, survivors of violence, and the depths of depravity that can’t ever be understood.
Florida would be my first area of interest, but any suggestions on what forums to visit would be much appreciated. Many thanks in advance!

Hi All,
I have always ben interested in true crime and unsolved mysteries. I added Websleuths to my FB and saw a post about the Elizabeth Shelley abduction and subsequent murder. This spurred me to read and want to contribute. I look forward to chatting with everyone

Hi everyone,
New member here! I am from the UK and am a teacher. I am very interested in cold cases and also (perhaps unsurprisingly) cases local to me. Really looking forward to talking with you all.

Hello all!! I'm in my early 40s. I live in central Florida. I have degrees in criminal justice and crime scene investigation. I love true crime and forensics! I'm looking forward to checking out the forums to see what I might be able to assist with. I feel the most important thing is finding justice for the victims and their families. Hopefully I might be able to help a bit. :)

Hello!!! I've just joined. I'm in my early 40's and live in Central Florida. I've got degrees in Criminal Justice and Crime Scene Investigation. I spend way to much time watching true crime documentries, listening to podcasts, and reading books. I figured I might be able to put it to use with some cold cases.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I'm horrible about reading my alerts. No, I don't think you're silly at all. I never thought about that, being the last in the family line. It does bring some real anxiety when you think of it like that. I truly hope you find out what happened to your grandfather. I would hate to always wonder and have all sorts of horrors come to mind. I agree with you about these UP, they all need a name, and they all deserve justice. Someone has to be missing them, unless like you they had no other family. That makes me that much more sad to think that could be the case. Although I don't think it would be for all of them. I picture their family members always sitting by a window and wondering where Sarah went, or Bob. Always waiting and wondering what could have happened. Knowing that they would reach out if they could. It would be absolute misery to always be wondering. We are such small creatures when looked at in the context of where a body could be. I'm surprised that anyone is ever found. Anyway enough sadness today. I hope to run into you on the threads, and I'll always be watching to see if you find your grandfather.
Melody

Welcome to the family. I'm an amateur, just a friendly soul trying to help in any way I can. I hope your expertise will reunite some of these people with their loved ones. That would be wonderful.

Welcome new member from UK. Not at all surprised that the local cases interest you. I feel the same way. I'm not very familiar with the new layout of the forums, I had been gone a bit and just came back, but will do my best to help if you ever need any.
