It's hard to say, I don't always have much faith with these sketches, but it is always interesting to find out when a suspect is arrested if he/she resembles the sketch. I think some people just have better face recollection than others though.

I do see the resemblance too.

And some agencies/departments have better sketch artists than others too! :giggle:

Of course then we have some who just not only didn't use a sketch artist, but seem to not even have someone who even has used Photoshop or something prior! There was this gem of a "sketch" released in a case last month in San Bernardino where the guy looked like a cross between one of those Mr. Doodlehead toys where you drew on "hair" with iron shavings onto those heads using a magnet and a Chia Pet or something!

But you're definitely right about varying degrees of witness observational skills, recall ability, or even just ability to describe what/who they saw in a way an artist can then put it accurately on paper.

Did anyone find more on the suspect from the MM case?

They had said his name might be Jonathan, but I never found anything confirming the name or giving a last name.

It'd be interesting to see if there were more images of the guy to perhaps see more angles to compare further with the sketch, and if we had a full name, to do some sleuthing to see if there's any chance he was at the event, or at least to see if he might frequent areas even closer to where Chelsea was last seen than we already know he appears to have been.

I'm still watching though I don't have much to add. I've seen a couple of people comment online that the wig was recovered at this scene, I wanted to correct that as it is not true.

The leaves on her costume may have trapped hairs, lint, carpet, etc. , blood stains if any. Possibly semen could still be found. Actually, quite a bit could still be preserved if the items stayed in one place, were not disturbed by animals. Kind of a "frozen in time" situation, since it was winter and a lot of snow cover would hold it in one place. Just my thinking, of course.

I don't mean this to sound morbid, but isnt there a way to tell if any biologic material left on the clothing came from someone living or someone who had already passed away? Meaning could they tell if the clothes were removed from her post mortem if that were the case?

Not sure. perhaps a cadaver dog would be of use for that...

Thank you for keeping watch with WS, Kilen, and even more thanks for making this clear, that Chelsea's "wig was not recovered at this scene,".

As, I hope you know, you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Yes I have seen these too. It seem that some agencies are using a computer program now where they try to make what looks like a photo. (Can't afford a sketch artist in my opinion.) Like you said, they come up with Mr. Potato Head. I'm sure this become more popular though as the technology gets better.

The sketch we see here in this case appears to be the work of the MI State Police, (very high quality) but what worries me is people at this party being drunk and so-on maybe not having the best recollection . I for instance am terrible with faces, but other people I know can see someone once for a minute and never forget and describe them with great detail. Hopefully enough people saw this suspect, and really gave a good description and hopefully we will find out.

I'm also glad police have found some evidence. It was starting to remind me of the Page Renkoski case back in 1990. She disappeared from along side the 96 express way by the Fowlerville exit. Her car was found on the shoulder still running. Hundreds of cars drove by and reported seeing Page talking to two men by her car, but she was never found .

Every few years the news reports some new area where they are searching for her.

The Chia Suspect has got me giggling. I would love to see what that actual perp's picture looks like.

The mix of Halloween costumes and people likely drinking, etc. adds layers of complexity to this that fortunately we don't end up with in so many other cases.

Praying the finds this week will end up leading to whomever that sketch is of and for Chelsea to be found and for justice!

7 am TODAY -- Press conference with Chelsea's Family.

They say what they found is indeed related to Chelsea.

Thanks for the heads up about the PC for Chelsea and the news, Spellie. Will try to catch a live stream.

Family of Chelsea Bruck expected to talk about investigation
Jennifer Bisram, ABC 7 Action News, Apr.8.15 5:01 am, provides a thorough update, annouces the press conference. I'm attaching the image below for reference from Ms. Bisram's report.

Police analyzing evidence collected in Flat Rock search for Chelsea Bruck

apparently it will not work on my tablet, no audio.

Just the confirmation that the items found are related to Chelsea's case is a huge step. Time for Chelsea to come home.

WWJ still teasing the press conference. Here it is...

Family doesn't know precisely what evidence was found. Family wants help from public with any information that could crack the case. Don't speculate. This is not a TV show: This is a family who needs to bring their daughter/sister home.

http://www.wxyz.com/news/chelsea-brucks-family-to-hold-news-conference-wednesday This link may work, BDE, and thanks for the other links.

Mrs. Leannda Bruck, Chelsea's mom said

"people give the police the space to do their work.

"We need to stress, this is our lives...not a police show,"

and that what LE found was

"indeed related to Chelsea."

And she thanked the community for their help and support. They are waiting for the test results and holding strong, it seems to me.
