It's hard to say, I don't always have much faith with these sketches, but it is always interesting to find out when a suspect is arrested if he/she resembles the sketch. I think some people just have better face recollection than others though.
I do see the resemblance too.
And some agencies/departments have better sketch artists than others too! :giggle:
Of course then we have some who just not only didn't use a sketch artist, but seem to not even have someone who even has used Photoshop or something prior! There was this gem of a "sketch" released in a case last month in San Bernardino where the guy looked like a cross between one of those Mr. Doodlehead toys where you drew on "hair" with iron shavings onto those heads using a magnet and a Chia Pet or something!
But you're definitely right about varying degrees of witness observational skills, recall ability, or even just ability to describe what/who they saw in a way an artist can then put it accurately on paper.
Did anyone find more on the suspect from the MM case?
They had said his name might be Jonathan, but I never found anything confirming the name or giving a last name.
It'd be interesting to see if there were more images of the guy to perhaps see more angles to compare further with the sketch, and if we had a full name, to do some sleuthing to see if there's any chance he was at the event, or at least to see if he might frequent areas even closer to where Chelsea was last seen than we already know he appears to have been.
