TOLEDO (13abc Action News) - Daniel Clay of Newport, Michigan was arraigned Sunday before a magistrate in the Monroe County Jail for the murder of Chelsea Bruck.
Prosecutors say Clay is facing 2nd degree murder and may face additional charges as the case unfolds.

2nd degree murder in Michigan:

Essentially, any murder that is not premeditated, committed in the perpetration of any crime listed in Section 750.316 (including arson, CSC, robbery, carjacking, breaking and entering of a dwelling, home invasion, larceny, extortion, kidnapping, vulnerable adult abuse, torture, stalking), or committed against a police officer, is classified as a Second Degree Murder.

Can receive life.

Suspect in Chelsea Bruck death charged; to be arraigned

Daniel Allan Clay, a 27-year-old Newport man, has been charged with second-degree murder in the October 2014 death of Chelsea Bruck, and will be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Monroe County, court records show.

According to Wayne County Medical Examiner spokesman Lloyd Jackson, Bruck’s manner of death is homicide, and the cause of death is blunt-force trauma to the head.

My aunt was driving through Monroe today and saw the police taking down the giant Chelsea banners...said it gave her goosebumps! :behindbar
 

I see him on the second link but wasn't able to locate that info on the first link....confused. Probably why I couldn't find it yesterday. Thanks. Wish they had detailed records on the calendar like some other local courts do but hopefully they will continue to stream as much of the trial as they can in the future.

Well, that certainly rules out Clay's claim of him accidentally strangling Chelsea during rough sex.
