Why would it be Macomb and not Oakland?

You know what I was right the first time! It would be Oakland county. Brain fart. Lol

Someone else said Macomb, that's why I was asking. I wasn't sure what the reasoning was to be moved over to Macomb. :dunno:

Question for a local. If SG is arrested, where would he be incarcerated?

First he would sit where he was arrested, as of now Farmington Hills is in charge, pretty sure they have cells at their station. There would be a quick hearing in district court to determine if there is enough to bind him over to Circuit court. Which would be Oakland County Circuit. If there is, then he would move to Oakland County Jail for trial and sentencing, then off to one of the many prisons.

Crime could have taken place outside of Farmington, but I see them still keeping the case. But it's possible he could be arrested by another police station, which could change the district court. Either way within a couple days of arrest and district hearing, he most likley would be moved to Oakland county jail.

Yeah I agree lol. Forgot what county Farmington (Farmington Hills ) was. I know I am in Macomb County

I think the worst scenario would be to try him without a strong enough case and fail to get a conviction. Especially after just a few months. Because then no matter what evidence popped up (heck, even a full admission of guilt) he'd be free as a lark forever in regards to this case.

If she is deceased (and I pray she's not) then rushing to a trial isn't going to bring her back. I can only think if she were my daughter/sister/friend, I'd want them to have a solid case before wasting that chance to lock a murderer up.

This is all my opinion only.

I agree with your thinking, but the wait is unbelievably frustrating. It seems so incredibly wrong that someone can get away with murder just by concealing the body. Dani deserves better than that. She was the light of so many lives.

That isn't obvious AT ALL! In fact, statements from and actions by FHPD strongly imply that they know they have their perp. I believe they have quite a bit of evidence, but it may well be that this prosecutor is afraid of the unrealistic expectations of jurors due to the so-called CSI effect.
<modsnip> It's a given that they have evidence connecting him to her on the evening she disappeared, otherwise they would not have searched his house--would not have confiscated his mattress, his vehicles, and his floorboards.
And let's not forget, they announced that Danielle was the victim of a crime almost immediately after they searched the security guard's house.

<modsnip>

I do believe SG was with her that day. From that I can deduce nothing. He could be the perp, accessory and wrong place at the wrong time. We have zero information to any type of relationship they had or didn't have.

To quote the great philosopher, Yogi Berra, "It ain't over 'til it's over".

In my opinion the authorities have been building this case since day one and perhaps need one break to solve this case.

At one point L.E. declared they had overwhelming evidence. Now this may point more to quantity than quality but I believe it captures both.

The strength of Danielle's family and friends is as powerful as their compassion. I think of them and Danielle often, as you all do.

Dear Ozoner and Midge Montana,

I always look forward to your posts, not just because they are enlightening, but they are full of kindness and compassion.

I find part of why this case does seem frustrating right now is because we have been given so few details from the authorities. I understand why L.E. needs to keep most details to themselves.

Everything we know has been discussed for all of these threads.

I agree with both of you - if it feels frustrating for us - how does it feel for Danielle's family and friends?
Sometimes it takes quite a bit longer than usual to place the perpetrator behind bars.

Every few days I wonder if we will hear news of an arrest. I do believe it's in the future but when?

I have huge respect for all on these threads. Take care everyone!

I always wonder about the original press conference:
"AMP - Dec 4, 2016 - The reason she is missing is not the issue. Her safety is the concern, he said."

Now that 5 months has gone by, any new thoughts on this original statement? The reason why has always stuck out to me.

Praying for Dani!

Searching and removing items from a house does not imply that "they know they have their perp"

It really is important IMO to keep an open mind here no matter how upset we are about the lack of progress.

They know who perp is and they don't care about web detectives putting pressure with online forums. When there isn't a body it takes a lot longer to get it right.

And she will get justice. Have a little faith. Why so negative. Because police/prosecutors won't tell you all what's up?

It's because I've seen so many other cases go cold over the years when the body can't be found, even when a POI is identified early. The Amanda Jones case out of Missouri is one example; the Kristin Smart case out of California is another. I would hate to see Dani's case languish the same way and for so long.

Lighting Dani's candle.

Still waiting for Dylan Redwine to get justice too. It's frustrating that perps walk around free when their victims can't. This isn't criticizing LE or being negative, it's caring about the victims and their loved ones.

Prayers and thoughts for Dani and her family . I do believe justice will prevail . It may take longer than any of us would wish but it will. This case is still in the news , the family has an army of love behind them , Dani has captured the hearts of many . This will not be swept under a rug.

Ozone I feel ya. I really do. I can tell you clearly follow many cases. But what is the ratio you follow to those that go unsolved and to how far back? With today's technology we are all about to witness a change in the way murder cases are handled imo.

It is frustrating...all of Danielle's family, friends and not only her community but those all over the globe are hoping/praying for justice and her return. I have a feeling that we will see justice in this case very soon. It won't go dark.

Do you think we will see more murder trials in cases where the bodies haven't been found?

I've followed cold cases that were decades old, but never in a systematic way. In general, it seems like cases are getting resolved more quickly than they were even five or ten years ago, but the no-body cases are still tough, and it may be that more murderers are hiding the bodies now that everyone knows about DNA evidence. Fortunately, Michigan is one of the States where some prosecutors are willing to take on no-body cases. I hope we can get to the point where someone's sudden disappearance from the world under suspicious circumstances will be treated as strong enough evidence of death to bring murder charges.
