I can't even imagine how helpless it would make me feel as a parent to not be able to pound the pavement. IMO, LE is pretty convinced that she's not in the immediate area. If she were trafficked, there's a good chance she is out of state and SM may be the only option for an active search. There was a victim recovered in Southfield (where DS works) last week from out of state leading to the arrest of a trafficker from Sterling Heights. When I researched the shadiest of the motels in Southfield, 2 were within walking distance of MetLife.

The tipster, a 15-year-old girl, told investigators she was picked up in New Jersey several weeks ago by Golden and a 17-year-old girl, according to Schuette’s office.
Golden allegedly told the girls he would take them to Michigan for commercial sex dates.
The 15-year-old girl was found in Pennsylvania and it is unclear if she ever was brought to Michigan.


On Wednesday, investigators searched the website www.backpage.com and a section advertising “adult entertainment: escorts,” Schuette’s office said. Investigators spotted a posting with photos matching the 17-year-old girl.
The posting allowed agents to find the girl Wednesday and arrest Golden at a Southfield hotel, Schuette’s office said.

It must be devastating for your child, of any age, to be missin, and LE does not want you to search or get a search party together!

It is unfathomable to me that as a parent, my child is missing, and LE is not conducting any searches. I am to SIT and wait - hoping for what? The only sensible conclusion that I can draw is LE has some information and have shared this knowledge with her family. Perhaps not the exact details, just enough that they do have a trail. :911:

The TraffickCam app enables travelers to submit pictures of hotel rooms around the world. The images are matched against a national database used by police. “You just enter your hotel name and your room number. You take four pictures, and you submit them to the website,” Washington University Researcher and TraffickCam developer Abby Stylianou said. “And then those become part of the pipeline that law enforcement can use to track down where the victims are being trafficked.”

Hmmm...never heard of this...obviously I would do it on your way out if one was interested in contributing, once you are no longer in the room... :thinking:

Hey all, I just started following this case so I apologize if this has been discussed. There are so many pages that I might have missed it! I read that she was planning to go to her friend's house that night. Did her friend contact anyone when DS did not arrive? Do we know what time she was supposed to arrive at the friends house?

DS was expected at her friends house around 530. The friend called and tried to reach out to her repeatedly, but to no avail. Friend figured DS had fallen asleep. Friend worried when DS didn't show up for work the next day.

Thanks for sharing, I find this really interesting. I'm left wondering if they can match hotel rooms through a national database, is there one that can match victims as well? Many of the pics posted on SM to solicit services do not include the victims' faces. But what about identifying tattoos/birth marks, etc.? JMO

I probably missed this earlier, but I now think the mention of there being money found in the purse points to her having parked the vehicle there and something happened at IGA. If a perp had access to the purse, I wouldn't think money would be left behind. JMO

I just finished reviewing the end of the last thread, doesn't appear that there was any big news made today.

I still maintain they aren't going to be able to find this young lady until they organize search parties and start looking under things and inside of things. Posting her picture on social media is all well and good, but it isn't going to help much since apparently nobody has a clue where she is. I guess we can all look forward to springtime when the ice thaws and the snow melts. LE waited too long to get a search organized, and now that the weather has taken a turn for the worse, it really isn't practical to get out and do it. A foot of snow on the ground can hide all kinds of things, not to mention snow drifts......etc...... Maybe they will get a break and have 2 or 3 weeks of warmer weather to where wooded areas and parks can be searched well.

It's supposed to be freakishly warm on Monday in these parts...upper 50's. All the snow will be gone.

I posted last thread that maybe Holocene could tell the family about CUE and ask for their involvement. I think her name is Michelle that started it but she is like a dog with a bone and her searches are legendary.

Yes yes yes. My town has some downright creepy people. One night I was coming out of Walmart with my 18 year old daughter, it was dark and rainy, I spotted a man wandering the parking lot. We walked quickly to the car and I told my daughter to watch out for that man. Sure enough, he slipped out between vehicles and approached us. I immediately stopped, held up my hand to signal for him to stop, and I yelled NO!!! He seemed totally shocked, turned and walked away.

Who did he think he was approaching two women, at night, lurking in the parking lot?! He had no business with me. You don't mess with MissGulfSouth, she does not play.

It wasn't a guy, it was a lifelong girlfriend of DS's. IMO, LE doesn't think she's anywhere local and it would be like finding a needle in a haystack. If she has left the area, SM is really the only avenue to keep her story alive. I'm in the South, but was delighted to see that my sister in OH had shared her missing poster before I did on FB. Still....with a $125,000 reward, it's hard to imagine that someone isn't coming forward with some credible tips.

Do you know if her friends and family were able to get out and search the surrounding areas for her prior to the bad weather hitting ? I know from the first of December up until about a week ago the conditions to get out and walk around in the weeds and the bushes were pretty favorable. I haven't heard anything about search parties since this thing started, and I've followed it along almost since day one. There may have been a bunch of people that got together and went out walking and driving around in the immediate area, but if there was, I didn't hear anything about it.

In the very beginning, before Danielle's abduction really got some legs..I was speaking with someone close to the family and they (along w friends and family) mentioned that they were looking frantically, checking everywhere, crawling in dumpsters and such so yes, Friends and family were searching upon realizing she was gone. LE was not really involved in the first 48 I believe. Or at least not very much.

I believe she spoke with/texted with the friend shortly before DS was supposed to go to the friend's and it was mentioned.

I did come across a mention of LE reading through DS's journal. It could be considered rumor, but it showed her to have to a very vibrant personality and sense of humor. I also found it encouraging to know they have this very telling piece of evidence, IMO.

I was assume that's how they recognize some of the victims. I let myself venture to a particular site that is frequently tied to this such thing and oh my...I feel so sheltered. :gaah:

I could tell he had been approaching other people. I don't care if he needed a dollar....go ask a man! I suppose he expected 2 pretty ladies to be naive and sympathetic. No. I mind my business and creeps can do the same. I'm only 5'4" but I wanted to be an FBI agent ... mama didn't raise no fool.

I never felt in danger in Northern Michigan like I do down here. Creeps everywhere.

ETA: I just realized I sound like a heartless jerk! Lol....I did recently gave a half ton of all my change to the Salvation Army Bell Ringers, and not all pennies, either! See I'm a good person and bell ringers are not creeps.
