Jasmine Moody was last seen about 7:30 p.m. Dec. 4 leaving her friend's home in the 3700 block of Baldwin St.

A woman’s body was found at about 12:10 p.m. Monday Dec. 5th, inside a red container in an alley behind a vacant house on the 7300 block of Central — north of West Warren. Is this area near where Jasmine went missing?

ETA, the woman found in the container is described as white, so not likely Jasmine. Another sad story will surely unfold.

She was last seen in jeans and sweatshirt. Would they have been that specific with the details of the clothing in the initial reports? Hopefully we'll know for sure soon.

if it is not her they really need to check the manholes in the area she went missing.

A nearby resident said she was shocked to hear of the discovery and has no idea whose body it could be. The resident, who only gave her name as Cookie, said that until last week she had never seen the garage open or noticed any sort of odd behaviors or smells emanating from inside.

The neighbor described the house's previous occupants before the current tenants as a mother and son who moved out about four or five years ago.

Property records show the house and garage on Spencer last sold for $21,000 in 1986 and is currently in the name of [REDACTED- see article at link], who also is listed with an address in Warren. Attempts by the Free Press to reach [REDACTED - see article at link] were unsuccessful.

An anthropologist who assists the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office with autopsies about once or twice a month will help in the case of a badly decomposing and mummified body discovered last week in the backseat of a car parked in a Detroit garage.....

The University of Michigan anthropologist helping with the case came in and studied the mummified body, Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office spokesman Lloyd Jackson said in an e-mail sent Tuesday night.

"But nothing will be released until she writes her report which could take two-three weeks," he said, adding the cause and manner of death are pending

Although I find it doubtful that these remains are Jasmine, I will continue to monitor for the outcome.
 
More remains found! Skeletal remains found under a porch on Beaconsfield Street in East Detroit....5.5 miles from where Jasmine went missing.

The gruesome find was made at a house on Beaconsfield Street near Berkshire and I-94 around 4:30 Wednesday afternoon. A man renovating a newly purchased house discovered the skeleton under the porch.

Police are not sure of the gender or how long it's been there....

...neighbors said the house used to be a drug den used by squatters. Wright says she's always kept a distance from whoever has lived there, calling it "pretty quiet."

That this house was a drug den as some point makes me think that this will not be Jasmine. It's more likely to be someone who suffered a drug overdose. I will monitor this story as well.

I very much want Jasmine to be found and can only hope that justice will be served when she is found.

I've not seen Jasmine list as a rule out on any NamUs UID's. Doing a search, I don't see any UID's in that area of the state that would match her profile either.

I think of Jasmine every time remains are found in the Detroit area. I hope for closure for her family someday.

I know. I can't let her go either. She seems forgotten. We have seen several of these - seems too many people in Detroit have skeletons in their closet :(
