From the very first post "Moody was last seen wearing a white University of Texas hoodie, blue jeans and brown boots." The articles I'm seeing say the woman found was partially clothed but don't mention any details about the clothes.

Looks to be the same story but with different details (inside the house as opposed to in a field)

The woman, who is white and was wearing blue jeans, appeared to have her left arm fed on by dogs.

Doesn't sound like Jasmine. If JM's deceased, her remains would be nearly skeletal after more than a year. I hope her family will eventually find out what happened to Jasmine and who is responsible if she's no longer alive.

Agreed, I don't think it's her either. Nothing but a gut-feeling but I think she was likely deceased the same night she went missing, and the whole "we had an argument" story was only part of the story, all along.

Not to mention, some articles are saying the deceased found is white. Jasmine isn't a light-skinned black girl, so there's no way she'd be mistaken for white.

I found a Namus case (#14692) of a body found in a burned house in Detroit on 1/16/16. I immediately thought of Jasmine. Age is estimated between 14 and 20. Gender and race is unknown. Link to a map showing the address she was last seen at and the address where the remains were found.

Perhaps (pure speculation) this house was included in this multiple abandoned house fire on Canton in March 2015?

Could whoever is responsible for the disappearance of Jasmine placed her body in an abandoned house November 2015? And, in March 2015, have become worried that warmer weather was coming and the body could be discovered and so started the fire to cover up the crime?

This is all just speculation on my part and probably nothing will come of it, but I may put in a call to the Namus Case Manager and ask for it to be checked out. I just want Jasmine found for the sake of her parents.

SO far I can't find a news story about the discovery but I found a story about several houses on fire on Canton St. on March 18, 2015. This would be 3 months after Jasmine disappeared.

In the video it looks as if the house at # 1434 could be involved. On Google street view the house is boarded up and the image is from 2013.

Perhaps the remains were only discovered when the house was being sold. It is listed on all the real estate sites as a foreclosure.
It makes sense that either the remains were already there or moved and torched along with other houses. Then not discovered until a year later.

Especially since the NAMUS case appears to only have partial remains;

Torso not recovered
One or more limbs not recovered.
DNA submitted but not complete, Dental charting is available.

I must sheepishly admit that I had unsubscribed from this case because I was frustrated by the silence from her family. Nothing since it happened, no activity. I suspected that something was known either by LE or by the parents like she turned up but never reported. Maybe she feared Britney.

ETA: It could take a while for a rule out but contacting them may speed up the DNA and dental information entry.

I sincerely hope they reviewed BB's Twitter and FB accounts before they were scrubbed. There was a lot of circumstantial evidence pointing to BB being very angry at JM and there were even several threatening remarks against JM just before JM headed up to Detroit.

An email to the NamUs Regional Administrator has been sent with links to both NamUs cases, a link to the google map and a link to the article on the house fires. I indicated that I believe the proximity of the area where the remains were found to the area that Jasmine went missing and the age match warranted further investigation. I also asked for confirmation that I contacted the appropriate party. If I don't get a response, I will follow up with some phone calls.

Thanks to all the recent posters for bringing this case back to life. I have thought many many times about this case and wanted to check for updates but I couldn't remember any names (this was before several people suggested subscribing to a case so I could always find it). I'm looking forward to seeing how your tip plays out KJ.

As it should be, That brings me peace that they were on that. So now we know thanks to you. So the DNA and dentals are still in the works and that could take some time.

I wonder if the parents are aware. Probably - but the silence was deafening.
