Since they would have called the boss, I wonder if they also called all the other employees to see if they knew anything? Would explain how they ended up talking to the police.
I still find this witness less than credible in my mind... too many things in the whole thing dont add up for me...

I believe JA drives a Rapid Rooter or Rotor Rooter truck. And he has a motorcycle. Not sure about his wife's vehicle.

I also have been skeptical about the fellow employee/witness situation. The only way I can imagine they got a glimpse of the driver is if they parked very close to the road and he looked their way as he drove under the street light. Still, it was dark and the van was moving. 10 out of 10? Unlikely.

"One man was identified in a police report as her fiancé; another man was identified in the report as her boyfriend; a third man was identified as one of the woman’s regular customers who worked at Rapid Rooter; and a fourth person was not identified."

Im confused...... Is there a fiancé and a boy friend?
That would put things in a different light!
 
I just wanted to pipe up about my experience as a gas attendant to see if it helps at all. We would turn off half the lights when we started closing down so our customers would be less. In Oregon we have a gas attendant and a store clerk. We had lots of weird and violent things happen in our gas station even though our town is reasonably safe - Lots of drug users. We didn't work to get the last bit of customers so if we closed and had customers come up we would just sorta stare at them til they left. We could only control half the lights from inside the office and the other half was automatic. We were allowed to close early if it was slow and we really didn't care if more customers were going to show up or not. If we wanted out early we would start cleaning early and close right on time and then we would just have to count the til. Every single night I ever worked, customers would show up after closing. But I worked near an exit for the freeway so lots of random people that weren't locals. Not sure what kind of situation this gas station is that she worked in.

We would prop the back door open either because we were too hot running around, only place to smoke was out back, stocking boxes were outside, or we were taking the trash out/recycle out. So lots of various reasons. I wouldn't walk out back in the dark knowing a customer's vehicle was around though. We used the back door for trash because if we closed and used the front door it is inviting customers in even though we were closed.

Does anyone know where the recycle/trash was located outside? Also if there was easy access to walk a ways behind the store, a road behind it, or? I am just curious of the layout around the am/pm.

I dont think so.. I think just different ways of describing the same guy. A lot of folks around here will refer to a Fiancee as a way of describing a boyfriend who is also the father of their child and who they live with. It has kind of gotten away from being used to describe someone who they are actually PLANNING to marry. Kind of easier to say Fiancee.
Of course I dont know Jessica's situation- she and Dakotah may well have been actively planning a wedding.. ( although I think if a date had been set we would have heard something to that effect... such as 'they were planning to be married in xxxxxxx months" )
Not sure if it is a local thing or if the term fiancee is used loosely this way in general, but here in this area ( I am local ) it is kind of used generically... )

No I understand what your saying but it sounds to me like there are 4 diff peeps they are talking about here.

They say her cell was not with her..... but a cell of hers was found at the gas station. It could be that she had a phone that was not known to D her fiancé. Very confusing....but if there was a bf and she had another cell phone this would shed a very different light on this situation! JMO

When Jessica's mother and fiancé appeared on HLN with Jane Velez-Mitchell, JVM asked Dakota about plans for he and Jessica to marry. He was totally non-committal and seemed embarrassed by the line of questioning. There are no definite plans to marry in the near future, and I doubt that Jessica has an engagement ring. Dakota said that "they don't have enough money to get married, have a home, be able to provide for a family", etc. The link to the JVM transcript is posted elsewhere in this discussion, but I'm not sure if video is still available.

It's my understanding that Jessica and Dakota have been together on & off for about five years but have not always been a couple. Jessica and her son had lived with her mother before she and Dakota started living together in their current apartment.

Where I'm at they call the boyfriend or father of their child fiance' or hub. I was on a friend's FB a few weeks ago; haven't seen her in 5 years since we moved; she just started using her FB. A girl was calling her their mother in law. I asked my daughter if the son was married; she said she doubts it; it's just what kids these days do.

In Jessica's case; I assume BF & fiance are in reference to the father of her child.

The reference in the article above might be regarding the four individuals who were reportedly interviewed and cleared by LE. In that case, both Dakota (fiancé) and a former boyfriend of Jessica's were cleared. I believe that they are not one and the same.

Exactly, I was taking it to mean, Ex Boyfriend as well, which would make sense the fact that they listed 4 people in that article, so I think it was an oversight of omission of the word "ex".

I do that also, but under circumstances. I've had a boyfriend for a few years, we are not married but I call his mom, mom in law. Mainly, because I known her longer than a few years and have had my own relationship with her while bf was away at school. And if we broke up I'd probably check up on her but wouldn't call her that anymore lol

Thanks for enlightening me about this. It's difficult to keep up with the ever-changing PC lingo these days :D For me, a fiancé/fiancée refers to the person to whom someone is engaged, usually with a ring for her, and wedding plans are in the works. I've been married to my college sweetheart for 42 years. We were engaged for 10 months prior to our :cake:
 
My point with that article, is the fact that they listed Four people, so it doesn't matter what they call anyone I suppose, the fact that there are 4 people, means four people to me, 4 Individual people. IMOO.

Exactly four PPL not three! fiancé and Boyfriend. It would explain the phone call fiancé made wondering if she would be home early. Would explain him having her cell phone. Honestly!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If your sending your finace off to work late at night would u really take her cell phone for yourself or let her have it just incase she broke down on the way home or an emergency?
