Thanks for enlightening me about this. It's difficult to keep up with the ever-changing PC lingo these days :D For me, a fiancé/fiancée refers to the person to whom someone is engaged, usually with a ring for her, and wedding plans are in the works. I've been married to my college sweetheart for 42 years. We were engaged for 10 months prior to our :cake:

I agree. I feel there should be some type of ring with plans to marry by such & such year. My hub & I were engaged about 10 months too. Everything went so fast lol

Here's the brief excerpt from the June 14 Jane Velez-Mitchell interview during which JVM asks Dakota about plans for he and Jessica to marry:

VELEZ-MITCHELL: ...And then did you plan to get married?

QUAIL-DYER: That was still up in the air. You know, we were trying to get financially set and wanted our own house before that happened. And you know, we had plans, but nothing was set in stone. But we both knew we weren`t going anywhere. So...

As I mentioned early, DQD sounds non-committal, and there doesn't seem to be a specific plan for he and Jessica to marry any time in the near future. :moo:

Why do u need to buy a house?
You have a child...Get married because you want to or don't because you don't. You do not need a house to be a family. I don't think they were talking marriage at all! But that's JMO.

I agree. It's always nice to have a house, but a family is a family by the love they share and give to each other, not by what kind of roof over their head.
Sounds like marriage was Very far away in their future if they even thought about it at all, and I think you are right, I don't think they were talking about it at all. They already have the child, so to me a child means more to a marriage than waiting to have a house!
IMOO.

Given that Jessica is the sole "provider" of the family unit, owning a home is not likely to happen in the foreseeable future. :moo:

I wonder if Dakota has found another job now that there isn't an income from Jessica providing for their son? Who's taking care of the little boy now? Grandma Heeringa?

He could be getting unemployment. Possible there is public assistance like Wic; food stamps; welfare.

Maybe Dakotah still has him if he is not working, and the fundraisers that raised money for the son now goes to helping take care of him? IMOO.

Jessica Heeringa's mom said his unemployment was soon to run out.....
I can try to find the video.....

Exactly four PPL not three! fiancé and Boyfriend. It would explain the phone call fiancé made wondering if she would be home early. Would explain him having her cell phone. Honestly!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If your sending your finace off to work late at night would u really take her cell phone for yourself or let her have it just incase she broke down on the way home or an emergency?

Sounds like a bit of a control freak to me, if that's the case ;)

I think that Jessica had her own cell phone - the one that was found with her other belongings on the counter at the gas station. Dakota may or may not have known about it and thought that he had her only cell phone in his possession. :moo:

When folks on the Find Jessica Heeringa Facebook site have asked about what is being done with the the money that has been collected, there has been no mention of Dakota receiving any of the fundraiser donations. The money is reportedly going into a bank account for "Zevyn's future education" and for "Jessica to provide for her son when she returns home". I don't know who is handling the money that's being collected and/or who has access to the bank account/trust fund. Administrators still mention that tee-shirts are available for purchase, but there haven't been any formal fundraising activities for some time now. Things have really quieted down on the Facebook site with very few posts in recent weeks.

In the absence of any new information in this case for quite a while, I thought that I'd start a list of things about Jessica's disappearance and the circumstances surrounding it that give us reason to :waitasec:  :banghead: :ohwow:

Here's my short & simple list - but each statement can be accompanied by dozens of questions. Please add your concerns about the case...

1) The phone call from Dakota to Jessica about an hour before she went missing

2) The gas station employee (and her husband) who just happened to be in the vicinity of the scene of the abduction on the night in question and later provides description of POI and vehicle

3) No organized searches other than those in the first 72 hours following Jessica's disappearance

4) No direct pleas to the abductor by the family and/or fiancé of Jessica

If they do not have a home phone, I can see him keeping the cell, since he has the child there.

Especially if there would be an emergency, and if Jessica had their only car.
And on the other hand, the report that Jessica's phone was also at the Exxon station...
I can see her having an extra phone, not the shared phone, incase she needed to call someone....
IMOO.

I do not understand the No direct pleas to the perp.
I know that Jessica's mom called him a monster and Dakotah said "Monster's don't care".
At one time Jessica's mom mentioned that If someone has her, to let her go, but there hasn't been any statements made, to my knowledge, of a personal message directly towards the abductor.
IMOO.

And No Organized Searches other than the first 72 hours. Very strange, indeed.
If they believe her to be alive, why not search anywhere and everywhere. Have a starting point, starting with the Exxon station and moving towards the route of the Supposed Van that Took Her!
Never searching means never finding.....Do they think after a given time that Jessica will just show up?? Do they think the abductor will just say, okay you have been with me x amount of months, I am tired of you, You go Now! Please, that just seems ridiculous to me, Unless she HAS to wait the x amount of time, if that is the case.....something personal, something hidden......something personal between herself and the abductor as LE and family believes that she knows this person. Like How Well, does she know this person? Do they mean In the Biblical Sense?
IMOO.

That's what I mean. In other cases where family members believe that their loved one has been taken against their will, they issue a specific plea via the media to the abductor to let their family member return to his/her family. I haven't seen anything like this in the case of Jessica Heeringa.

Calling the perp a "monster" isn't a plea to that person to let Jessica go. In fact, it probably angered the POI if he still has Jessica, and she is alive. I'm talking about a heartfelt plea from someone in the family to please allow Jessica to return to her home and that her little boy misses his mommy and wants her to come back to him.

Would you be ok with me adding to your list?

5) NSPD calling the sketch a 10 out of 10.

6) Two cell phones? Yes? No? We really never got clarification if this was a reporting error or a fact.

7) What is the deal with the back lights? Were they turned off? Shot out? Disconnected? Was the switch dusted for prints?

8) I'd like to know if there are any reports of a gray/silver van skulking around area gas stations since Jessica disappeared.

9) Why has wzzm not come forward with any info gathered by their P.l? They are a news channel, after all.
