A disturbing news story of a local woman who was found by a nurse dying on the side of the road. Police originally thought she had been hit by a car or thrown out of a car, but now have said bullet casings were found and she died by a gunshot wound. The article states her husband has a strong alibi.

Also this is not far from where Jessica Heeringa was last seen at the gas station.

Good call on connecting this with Jessica Heeringa the day after this happened!

Uggghh. Based on the address mentioned in one of the articles linked above, it looks like his house is immediately across the street from a school. And, he has a daughter.

He also had past jobs as a janitor at public schools (one of which he was fired from from inappropriately looking at *advertiser censored* sites and showing them to children).

All around, an upstanding citizen! :banghead: Who know what else he has done that we just don't know about yet!!

MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) — Jeffrey Willis, who is charged in a string of cases in Muskegon County, appeared in a courtroom Friday for a pretrial hearing.

The hearing was about whether or not evidence from the alleged attempted abduction of a 16-year-old girl in April could be used in the open murder case trial for Rebekah Bletsch.

New details in Jeffrey Willis murder, kidnapping cases revealed during court hearing

MUSKEGON COUNTY, MI – Why were Rebekah Bletsch's sunglasses, earbuds and electronic device in an arm band left in a neat pile on the other side of the road from where Bletsch's body was found?

That fact never before made public was mentioned by Muskegon County Prosecutor D.J. Hilson Friday during a Jeffrey Willis murder case hearing. Hilson asked the judge in the Bletsch murder case to allow evidence from another of the cases against Willis: that of the abduction of a 16-year-old girl nearly two years after Bletsch's death.

"He’s grateful, however, the Willis and Willis’ cousin Kevin Bluhm now faces charges in Heeringa’s murder. Bluhm is charged as an accessory after the fact, but Harpster thinks he should face a murder charge, too.

According to court records, Bluhm told investigators that he helped Willis bury Heeringa’s body in 2013, a year before Bletsch was shot and killed as she jogged near her home in Dalton Township."

I totally agree with this I wish it was possible the cousin is a disgrace. He saw Jessica lying dead and helped bury her and didn't give any care about her or the possibility that Willis would strike again.

It seems like you can kill or rape and kill 50 people in his state and still only get Life without parole.

So now I see why these killers continue to kill. Especially since it wouldn't matter how many they killed or tortured.

But imo.

Since the death penalty isn't a option in some states. Then maybe those states should adopt harsher life sentences. Jmo.

Example. Life in a 6x6 cell. 24 hrs a day. Jmo.

We can call it. The Serial Killer/ Rapist/Abductor suite/sentence.

Jmo.

The evidentiary hearing Friday centered on allegations made by defense attorney Brian Hosticka. He believes Willis' Constitutional rights were violated by deputies at the jail. The allegations could impact the state's case against Willis, and relates to papers written by Willis while he was in jail that wound up in the hands of jail staff. "Notes that are created in preparation for trial, to help prepare for trial, to help explain things," said Hosticka.

MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) — In a bold move by the defense of the man accused of two murders in Muskegon County, Jeffery Willis took the stand Friday.

As family members of the victim looked on, Willis took the stand for the first time in open hearing hoping that he can convince a judge that his case has been so damaged at least one of three capital crimes of which he is accused should be thrown out.

"You can't unring the bell once my client's notes have been read," said Brian Hosticka, Willis' defense attorney. "They are notes for me basically revealing our case and the prosecution and the state knows what we've been talking about and what our position is on various issues in the case. I'm asking for the judge to rule that there's been a breach of attorney-client privilege and that it was deliberate and that as a result of that breach there's been a violation of the sixth amendment right to council of the U.S. Constitution."

Oh no I don't like these latest developments one bit this individual is a monster and must be held accountable for every single crime committed. Are there any solicitors/attorneys here that we can kindly ask about this? Their opinions and imput would be much appreciated.

This is a killer that is gaming the system.............and apparently getting away with it.

People claim we have the best justice system in the world, which may be true, but it could still stand a good amount of tweaking to prevent gamesmanship and loopholes like these 's are creating.

You can follow this case in the Jessica Heeringa thread. He's not getting away with it - Bletsch case was postponed so that they could conduct the preliminary hearing for the charges in the Heeringa case and establish the use of evidence from all three cases (MJN, JLH, RBK). At the very least, he's got some child *advertiser censored* charges that will put him away for the rest of his life.

MUSKEGON, Mich. — A trial has been scheduled for a man accused of fatally shooting a jogger in western Michigan.

The Muskegon Chronicle reports Jeffrey Willis is set for trial starting June 13
in the 2014 slaying of 36-year-old Rebekah Bletsch in Dalton Township. He's also awaiting trial on murder and kidnapping charges in the 2013 disappearance of gas station clerk Jessica Heeringa."
