This story is just heartbreaking. When I read about the vigil they held for this precious boy and the birth mother was there, she said, that at least when he was with me he was alive. It broke my heart. These parents should rot in jail!!

Remembering Ricky Holland

People from around mid-Michigan came to Lansing Township Friday night to mourn the death of seven-year-old Ricky Holland. The memorial service was organized by Holland's biological mother, Casey Jo Caswell.

Ricky Holland's adoptive parents, Tim and Lisa Holland, were charged last week in connection with Ricky's murder.

"When you light these candles, you are doing it in remembrance of little Ricky," Rev. Matthew Mangan of Williamston's Mount Hope Church said.

The memorial opened with lighting candles, as mourners filed past images of Ricky Holland's youngest years.

Detective testifies, Lisa says that Tim did it and she cleaned up, and Tim says that Lisa did it with a hammer and he dumped Ricky's body.
Judge ordered the release of info, she said the public showed interest when Ricky went missing, and that it is in the public's best interest and Ricky's best interest that the proceedings are open. This was against objections of both the prosecution and defense attorneys.

So are they both saying the other killed the child with blows to the head with a hammer? I don't know how they can sort out who actually did it - it seemed earlier, their stories were different enough that LE would be able to tell who was telling the truth.

Poor Ricky. Reading about him early on it seemed likely, from his personality difficulties, that someone had totally just lost their temper and killed him in a fit of rage, but basically accidentally. But with a hammer, it doesn't sound like a momentary frustration - sounds more premeditated.

Sad.

Also, an inmate staying with Lisa Holland said she admitted to murdering her son.
The testimony also details a long history of abuse and humiliation of Ricky. When the Hollands first reported the boy missing in July, they said he suffered from mental problems and disorders. The testimony says his parents may have made up that all up.

This is really sickening, I say charge both if they can't prove which one did it and let the jury decide.

Adopt a baby and then murder him, how disgusting. Charge them both and give them the death penalty, but instead of the needle, let some loser inmate take a hammer to both of them and see how much fear he can instill in these two losers. How someone can murder an innocent child and then lie for someone else is beyond me. How does a person come to be so evil? we will never understand it.

Fly high little Ricky, we will not forget you, God is holding your hand now.

I couldn't agree with your more on the punishment for these two monsters. :furious: :furious: :furious: :furious:

God Bless you little Ricky. Shine bright in Heaven sweet boy where no one will ever hurt you again.

Unfortunately, Michigan doesn't have the death penalty. That's exactly what these two sick pathetic excuses for humans deserve. No one on Earth should ever have to go through that, but your own child? I'm absolutely livid and sick to my stomach.

How in the hell did these people get through the adoption or foster parent process???? Something is very wrong. I don't know anything about adoption laws in Michigan, but I would think they would have to be pretty thorough. They need to be talking to the social worker(s) that handled these adoptions and find out what he/she is saying about this now.

Am I understanding it correctly that their last adoption was finalized after Ricky was missing? Something is not right. Someone is not doing their job and I'm afraid they need to look at the agency, social worker, judge, etc. that approved these adoptions. :furious: :furious: :furious:

Sounds to me that one is just as guilty as the other. She blames him and he blames her. My guess is that she is the one who actually murdered Ricky as she is the one that we know, so far, has a violent temper.

She took Ricky to school with a dog leash?????

School personnal THOUGHT Ricky was being physically and emotionally abused?? Did they ever say anything to the authoritys? This story is sure familiar.

They took Ricky out of school and home schooled him?? Probably because they didn't want the school personnal to see the evidence of physical abuse.

Now we see why this couple didn't want to go in front of the media. It didn't have a thing to do with his job. It was because they were guilty of ending the life of this beautiful little boy and they were probably afraid that they wouldn't look caring enough in front of the cameras.

I would love to know what put LE on the trail of these two. Lots of kids go missing and are never found but LE doesn't search their home 2-3 times and take evidence out of the home....dig up their yard, etc. What happened to make LE suspect them.

Well, whatever it was, good for LE. I say never mind who actually wielded the hammer, charge both of them and put both of them away forever.

A fellow inmate at Ingham County Jail testified today that Lisa Holland told her she had killed her son Ricky with a hammer.

Crystal Mountain, 35, who was placed in a cell near Lisa Holland, said Ricky's adoptive mother also told her how she and Tim Holland wrapped Ricky's body in garbage bags and that "Tim placed his body somewhere."

<snip>

Mountain also testified today that Lisa Holland blamed her husband for why the couple was arrested.

"She called him a stupid man and said it was his fault they were in jail," Mountain testified. "(She said) all he basically had to do was be quiet."

<snip>

Also during testimony today, Ricky's first-grade teacher said while she did not suspect he was being abused, she did believe Lisa Holland was intentionally humiliating the boy.

Lisa Holland often would pull Ricky down the hallway by his arm, embarrassing him in front of other students, testified Peggy Cox of Jackson's Cascades Elementary School. Cox also said forcing Ricky to wear a harness on the school bus added to his humiliation.

But under cross-examination by Lisa Holland's co-counsel, Andrew Abood, Cox said she did not suspect Ricky was being abused and never made a report to school or state officials.

That poor little boy. RIP Ricky.

BTW, the stepmother was arrested earlier this week. This is from the link...
It's the second time this week that Lisa Holland has been arrested. She was in court on Thursday after being charged with domestic violence for throwing a hair dryer into her husband's shower. She was later released on bond. Lisa and Tim Holland are scheduled to appear in court February 7th for their preliminary hearings.

OK, my bets are on Lisa.
Wow! She doesn't mess around!

This part:
"...forcing Ricky to wear a harness on the school bus added to his humiliation..."

Would someone explain what this means? What type of harness? The only harnesses I know are the ones I use on my horse and dog.
