Prepaid phone can be throw away or people can keep them for years and just keep buying more minutes to reload them with. They send/receive/text/voicemail, at least all the ones I've seen do.

Hi, I have not posted in a while because I have contacted Trisa about vaification and I have not heard back from her yet. But I can weigh in on some of the things written. Fulton County Hospital is in Wauseon only about 15 minutes away. They are a small hospital and it is common be moved to another hospital from there if they can not handle the case. St V's is where JS went. They have a very good mental health floor. It is my understanding he was taken by a firend not a taxi.
I have lived next to the grandparents for 12 years and know the family fairly well but will not say I know their every personal detail. However, I do know this. When JS took the boys in sept it was a big suprise to the grandparents. I told DZ that I did not even know they were having problems and he said they did not either until about a week prior. His comment to me was that JS sat on the computer smoking and drinking beer all the time. TS and her mom and oldest daughter went to FL got the boys and then stayed over the weekend until a hearing was held.
Once they came home TS actually tried to work it out with JS. I saw them at the boys soccer games and practice's talking. Then mid Oct maternal grandmother told my husband that JS kept asking TS to drop the divorce but she said no. She moved out of the home about 2 weeks after the FL incident. However she only lives about 2 blocks away.
As for his parents- I do not think they have a close relationship with JS. I only know this from a lack of ever hearing much about them from the boys or family.
Tomorrow is the hearing to bring him back to MI. I know the grandparents plan to be in attendance.
Also not sure how much is on line but the local town paper is called The State Line Observer based here in Morenci. It comes out each Wed. My husband saw the owner DG at the grandparents today so maybe a article this week.

So this is what really bothers my husband and I. First JS said he gave the kids to JT a lady from 2 counties away to take the kids home to mom that lives 2 blocks away, then says he killed them, then recants, then is overheard yelling to a visitor to "help find my kids," then tells his parents they are alive and safe.
If he thought that they were in danger like his mom states why would he keep trying to be with her, as I can personally say I saw them together the end of October.
I last personally saw John the friday before the boys disappeared when he was picking them up from school. He appeared withdrawn or distant to me. However, he has never been talkative or overly friendly.

I want to keep hope that they are alive, but I do not think we can believe anything JS has said. Also I know Andrew, he is very smart and mature beyond his years. A smart boy. I have to believe that if he is anywhere near a phone he would call his mom if able.

Keepinghope, thank you so much for your imput. I know this can't be easy on you, but we are glad you are here to give us your views.

Do you know what time on Friday JS went to the hospital?

I am just joining this thread and need to start reading all of the comments, but does anyone know if trailing dogs were used to follow from where the boys were last seen at? (Thanks in advance for any answers.)

K9-Chaser
According to the sheriff, 'cadaver' dogs were brought in at some point.

Apparently the proper term is HRD dog- for human remain detection.
So who really knows what kind were used, as I have been learning here on WS that not all LE is knowledgeable about the various types of dogs and what they are trained in.

Maybe Sarx will chime in:)

Not that I have heard no.

I'm not even sure what that means, but that throws up a big red flag for me.

In looking at the website amd it appears that they are affiliated with a police K9 group and a SAR certification program that was just created back in 2007. Nowhere do I see SARTECH certifications or any affiliation to NASAR which is the industry standard. That is not to say that they do not have qualified dogs, but that coupled with a dog who is under 2 years old that can find "any scent" is suspect to me. Though maybe they are meaning that the dog is an area search dog and will find any live person he/she comes into contact with? Somehow I don't think that's what they meant though, especially being that this is a case where they were out there looking for remains at this point.

OT-
Sarx, I was just over reading at the NASAR website...I am ashamed to say I had no idea how extensive and specialized the SAR field really is...I am much intrigued!

It's really not off topic, knowledge is power! A lot of cases dogs come into play, it is very important to know and understand how specialized they are. It is also very important to know that not ALL dogs/handlers/training are created equal, and that can be the really hard part to decipher, probably next to impossible unless you have experience. Though just by reading what you are you will begin to see red flags! It is so much more than most people realize and even the NASAR site doesn't go into all the finite details that you learn over time. Good for you though for taking the time to delve into it farther!

Thanks for your input, KeepingHope. I'm glad I think it might finally put at least a few questions to rest around here. For example, I don't think he really thought she was harming the boys (I never did), if he was trying to get her to drop the divorce.

good am..correct me if i am wrong.. IF LE beleives JS did something to the kids couldnt he be charged with something other than parental kidnapping.. from what i remember with little tori, her capturers were charged with it and she wasnt found till months after. i believe LE must think they are alive somewheres...maybe USA law is different than Canadian. after all this time he must of told someone. someone in jail or a guard, lawyer...cant keep quiet this long. wouldnt you go bezurked keepin a secret that long.

Why is JS parents going back to Florida? would you not stay and support your son..... now i am confused...

My husband and I keep saying that. The paternal grandmother went to NY to be on a morning show but not to MI where the kids live. Also they were in Toledo, an hour from Morenci and did not come here. If it were my grandkids I would think you would make the trip and see the mother or other grandparents as soon as they are reported missing not 2 weeks later. I just did not find them creditable on the news. If you listen to 13abc new from toledo they have about 8 minutes of the interview. The part I found very odd was when the reporter asked Mr. S if he missed his grandkids, and he paused and said well yeah. Ok everyone around here as been a mess just thinking about the kids and maternal grandparents are a mess over this. BZ was taken to the hospital for dehydration and breakdown, and all he said is well yeah with no emotion. Makes me think he knows something more, or has such a minor relarionship with them to real matter. JMO
