It is a good sign when a parent is noted for helping out at school. I know that doesn't make anyone perfect, but it is nice to hear that the mom was involved in that way. JMO

I am veering back and forth between thinking the boys are being hidden and dead. Some of the actions of the father/his family make me think they are alive, very far away from both Michigan and Onio (ie the "staged" scene at the house, "suicide" attempt, refusal to speak to LE...). Then I think of other things and go back to fearing they are dead (LE statement of bad outcome, JS statement he killed them...) So confusing.

I think for me, the biggest support of the boys being dead is LE statement that they didn't expect a good outcome. Again, I just can't imagine if they had any hope the boys were alive, they would never say this to the press. If for no other reason than stating this makes anyone seeing that less likely to watch for the kids (an important piece of hope to keep alive in my mind as if they are being transported, any of us could see them, esp. if we're close to main highways)

Its all so confusing...

I was so hoping to come here today and see that they'd been found. I just saw that the two children in AL are feared dead. What on Earth is wrong with these parents? It makes my heart break because I know there are so many of us out there that would just love to provide these children with loving homes, yet they end up dead. :(

Parenting should be a privilege not a right.. like driving, as impossible as that would be.

All these children dead at the hands of thier 'parents', is heart wrenching, indeed.

"We are passing through some very deep waters right now as a community, a congregation and a family," said Donna Galloway, pastor of Morenci United Methodist Church.

Galloway addressed 45 members of her congregation, which including the grandparents of the boys.

Missing are Tanner, Alexander and Andrew Skelton, ages 5, 7 and 9. Authorities do not believe they are alive.

That support comes not just from the hundreds of people who have been tromping through fields and scouring roadsides for signs of Andrew, Alexander and Tanner Skelton, but also from volunteers at the fire station, businesses that have donated food and supplies to help with the search, and countless citizens who have stopped by to offer whatever help they can give.

Eisel said one man walked into a pizza restaurant with $300 and told the clerk to make up $300 worth of pizzas for the volunteers. Such stories of spontaneous generosity have become almost commonplace.

Just like the man that bought the pizza for the volunteers, that was awesome, I have to believe that the majority of the human race is good. I just have to keep thinking that…..

Then I read the news this afternoon, and there is more
http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2010-12-05-alabama-missing_N.htm

What is it with some people?
Kid’s?
Who the heck could hurt a kid?? How can you even wrap your head around that? A kid?
It should be auto DP! Everywhere, for anyone that hurts children like this..
It just makes me sick.

tx Ele for helping me say what I was trying to say.

We might all want someone tourchered to tell where the children are, but, BUT....what if your child came up missing, you were the last person to see them. You just got over the flu, laying around on the couch, hair a mess, the house is a mess, 3 children can make a mess. You call for your kids, they are gone..you call the LE, BUT....guess who they think did something to the kids? YOU... Hadnt see you outside in days, you look like death warmed over, LE finds bread and peanut butter half eaten out side by the drive way. etc etc. Would you want waterboarded? (Did you see the video of that). People yelling and screaming at you. Your terrified, horrified that your children are gone, but the LE is looking right at you.

We have laws in this country, and they are good laws, not perfect, but laws that come from very wise men that wrote the consitution.

My other thought and main thought. God gave us the responsibility to look after his children. We dont know our neighbors any more, we are so busy being within our selfs that we miss what is going on around us.

I dont know the answer, but there has to be something missing in ourselfs that children go missing, killed, and we do nothing.

here is a little tid bit. man killed wife and child in 1984 in Fl. was given Life. released in 2004. why? Fl law was Life was ?? years until 1995, Where is it they are going to shorten the distance for SOs from a school, etc because its getting hard for them to find a place to live. ackkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

I would also assume that anything you tell the FBI under these circumstances is recorded.
If in fact he told FBI profilers that he had killed the boy’s, even if it is recanted, it will come back to haunt him. As it should.

I believe JS is most defiantly counting on these poor boy’s not being found.
I also believe that Parental Kidnapping in most states carries a chg. of 1 to 5 years. Per count he could be imprisoned for up to 15 years. (correct me if I am wrong plz.) And LE likely has other evidence, including lying, or past history, that may possibly bring murder chgs. even without bodies. (I hope)

But I think JS isn’t telling his Lawyers the truth either……….. He’s probably trying the same ol’ stories he’s telling his family. I honestly think that JS thinks he may get away with this.

My first hope against all odds is that the boy’s are found alive. My second hope is that they are found period! So JS will get exactly what he deserves.

This isn't a state issue. It's Federal since he crossed state lines. I've been googling for prison terms for Federal kidnapping and have seen anything from 8-50 years for one count. The 50 year sentence was given to Phillip Garrido, the may who kidnapped Jaycee Dugard. He only served 11 of the 50 years which allowed him to commit the crime against Dugard.

If the kidnapping charges are the major ones he faces, I am confident they will do all they can to give him the maximum time allowed. I'm sure there will be other charges added, as well. I can't see a deal being made, either, unless he tells where the children are and they are located first. Even then, LWOP would probably be the easiest he gets off (depending on where they find them...MI or OH).

Surely in addition to the kidnapping, he has to explain those 3 nooses in his home, where he was between 4:00 and 7:00 am on Friday, 11/26/10, and his lame excuse for a broken ankle before he could get out of jail!!

If the nooses were used or were in any way involved, I'd think we'd have heard by now. Really, he doesn't have to explain anything to anyone. I don't think I would be able to defend this man even if I were court appointed.

Wonder if JS's parents have gotten to Morenci yet? I remember reading they were planning to come , it was about a 20 hour trip. Hoping for some news on where the boys are, that the parents can get an answer.

I've been wondering if the nooses were "practice" nooses that he worked with before his "attempt" at hanging himself - something to help him familiarize himself with the knots, etc.

Michigan town holds vigil for 3 missing brothers

"We've been visited by darkness here and we don't understand it," said Donna Galloway, pastor of the Morenci United Methodist Church, where the boys and their family are members. "But as we light these lights tonight, be assured that the boys see the light."
