I think it's all suspect at this point. I'm certain I saw somewhere that the ticket agent confirmed it was Maria that purchased the ticket somewhere ...

Lauterbach accused Laurean of raping her in April 2007, but investigators say a relationship between the two continued after the alleged attack. Laurean is from Nevada. The 20 year old Vandalia woman was last seen December 14th, when she bought a bus ticket in Jacksonville, North Carolina, near the Marine base at Camp Lejeune.

The ticket was good for six months, and the ticket agent said Lauterbach had planned to use the ticket to El Paso, Texas the next day. The ticket has not been used.

Yeah, I think you're right ... and this is coming from a wife and sister of former marines.

He had hinted Friday morning that a positive outcome was still possible. Lauterbach had purchased a one-way bus ticket to El Paso, Texas, on Dec. 15, but she never used it, he said, and investigators and family members said they were unsure if she had run away.

This case has really gotten under my skin. I have lurked on this site for about 3 yrs with maybe 1 post a month and since this case started I cannot stop posting. I think the reason this gets to me is that I once was involved with someone that turned out to be a narcistic/sociapath and CL seems to have these characteristics. People with this personality are very good at controll the people around them. They are skilled cons who can make you believe anything. They do not let very many people see the real person they are and few people will figure them out until it is too late. I can see where
both Maria and Christina could have been taken in by CL. I know that it took me getting out of my situation to realize what I was dealing with. I think that
CL played head games with both Maria and Christina. That CL is a predator and pryed on Maria. Someone as young and naive a Maria did not understand until it was too late what see was dealing with. When she figured it out and stood up to CL he exploded. And after hearing last night on Greta that Christina did not wait 24hr it was more like 10 to 12 hrs it made me realize that maybe she was not involved. That she could have been scared and frightened. She had for the 1st time seen the real CL and was wondering just what was he capable of doing. I think during that 10 to 12 hr period she might have been trying to figure out how to get her and her daughter away from him and probable in shock because she has seen the real CL. I am sure that during this time CL was still trying to convience her that he did not do anything wrong. With people like CL it is always someone elses fault. Until you have been a victim of a person like this it is hard to explain the hold they have on you. The ability they have to distort fact and make you believe them .. This is just my opinion and I could be wrong but I think that CL played and is still playing allot of people.

Now they have said everyone the wify and maria's about there time line, but not dunham.
Don't you think that's odd?:eek: In fact they are been very quiet about him. We need his complete statement.

Also, after combing through the Marine statement ... somehow I previously missed this:

On Thursday, December 20th, 2007, ..... LCpl Lauterbach’s cell phone is found along Highway 24 in Jacksonville, NC. The phone was used to make several calls by stranded motorist, one of which was LCpl Lauterbach’s sister, who requests that the individual turn the phone into the police. The command is notified about the cell phone recovery and the circumstance surrounding the recovery on January 9th.​

Sounds like the "stranded motorist" hung onto the phone making a flurry of "emergency" calls.

According to the sworn affidavit given by Christina....He told her on the way to the Lawyer's office on Jan. 10th (no time was given, but I would assume morning). She did not give the information to authorities until Jan. 11th at 9:00 am. (there was a discrepancy of the time on this, too.) It might not have been a FULL 24 hours, but certainly too much time to say she did not give him a head start on his getaway.

I'm holding out that Durham is solid. He took in Maria based on her difficult circumstances and did everything he possibly could do to alert folks to the fact she was missing.

the capt that's speaking to the media instead of the sheriff said last night on Greta's show that the bus ticket was purchased on the 14th, for a departure on the 15th.....

I guess I would need to know if she had the opportunity to leave during this time. Was he with her evevy minute. Where was the baby. I am not saying that I do not believe 100% tht she could have been involved. I am just saying that CL has been able to manipulate allot of people during this time and I do not discount that Christina could have been one of them.

The point I'm making is when did he get back (dec. 14) after work or did he go to the christmas party.
Everyones time line has been accounted, but not stg. dunham's......why?

I think we need to find out if there was just one party or two.

Many times, they will have a 1/2 day for holiday, so they have a burger burn/fullup friday/office party, and it's usually just for those in the squadron/office.

Usually, around the bases my husband has been stationed, there is a Second, evening party for all... the office members and their families. Many times I've gone to those parties and my hubby hasn't (for one reason or another)

So, were there essentially TWO parties???

Someone posted yesterday wify returned home from the party early afternoon. Making a point it wasn't early evening or late evening....
Stated was a half day of work.
