Your right about the odds of a rape victim going off with their attacker. But then I would think that would be as rare as also remaining friends too.

She was forced to work alongside of her attacker. All the while being harrased, threatened and phisically attacked. We do not know what "friendly" terms mean. Military has refused to expand on that statement. I think many are taking that term out of context. IMO.

I just can't see that L is going to be on the loose for much longer. It will either end with an arrest or he will kill himself before he gets arrested. I am personally leaning he will kill himself first. He already knows that he will be convicted for Maria's murder, he has more than likely lost his wife and daughter, he has been disgraced and will be dishonorably discharged from the Marines.

He has nothing to lose but try to get away if he can and if not..........kill himself.

Lauterbach disappeared sometime after Dec. 14, not long after she met with military prosecutors to talk about her April allegation that Laurean raped her. Her uncle, Pete Steiner, said that Lauterbach — stung by the harassment that eventually forced her to move off base — decided to drop the case the week before she disappeared.

This could be the reason she agreed to talk to him before leaving.

I don't see anywhere she agreed to talk to Cesar before leaving. I think she dropped the charges because the harrasment got to be too much.

No, I don't mean I saw a report on it...but maybe since she dropped the suit...he requested she see him for some reason or another and is how she came into contact with him that day. We don't know how they actually got together for her to end up at his house and him to kill her...do we? They have not mentioned filing a Kidnapping charge.

FWIW, I wouldn't doubt it's the SUSPECT who put it in the head of the military guys investigating the allegations that they'd had an affair, they were still friendly, yadda, yadda, yadda.................(BS!):behindbar

Oh my Goodness, i have obviously stepped on some toes here. Maybe it would have been better to have stayed in lurker mode. I am just as angry and upset over this case as everyone else. I am just trying to come up with answers the same as most on here. I was trying to find a plausable answer for the purchase of the bus ticket. From my own experiance i have found that it was plausable she might have been been in a relationship with him. I am in no way disrespecting her at all. That was not my intention and i am sorry if you found i done that. I am upset and want answers to this case too. I am sorry if i offended anyone. I will not come back to post. It took a long time to come out of lurker mode and i did not expect to get slammed right off the bat so i am really sorry if i disrespected and or offended any. I hope we all find answers in the case and that he is caught very very soon and pays for what he has done. I hope Maria and baby are at peace and her family will find some comfort in the justice that will be brought to her killer.

Until it comes out otherwise - we are assuming that she was NOT running off with him. With all that's come to light, and the fact this girl has not only lost her life, but the life of her child, I don't see how the two can be connected. Being friendly w/ someone DOES not make them running off into the sunset together.

Being friendly could mean that she was seen telling him to F'off and someone witness them "talking" but didn't hear the conversation.

Not to insult you or degrade, but I find it a offensive that one would even point forth that at a time like this. bottom line - HE TOOK HER LIFE..as well AS THE LIFE OF HER UNBORN CHILD. If they were running off together - why the hell would he do that? After all, speculation is that it's HIS child...remember?

NOONE HAS THE RIGHT TO TAKE THAT EXTREME AS TO SNUFF OUT A LIFE OF A PERSON - FRIEND OR FOE!

All were are doing is speculating, even the LE don't know.

We do know she purchased a ticket, we know the last time she was heard from/seen, we know her cell phone was found on December 20th.

We know there was blood found in Cezar's home, a note, her body and baby have been found burned.

Those are facts.

Other facts are he is on the run...he has been spotted...he is most likely on a bus as we speak/chat.

Still too close. I'm sure they had to share the same parking lot, eat at the same commisary. And work at desk in an office filled with his friends.

Not saying he did say this, but I would believe that he told his COs that they did not have sex at all and the reason he needed to dispose of her and the baby. The baby was to be tested after birth to see if it was his or not as proof of the rape allegation.

However, if she dropped the suit...then why would it matter? Could she have taken it up again and refiled it possibly?

Okay, I just wasted too much time looking for Greyhound bus schedules. Their website does not list arrival and departure schedules. I am in Abilene, Tx. which is on I-20 about halfway between DFW and Midland/Odessa. If he left Shreveport on I-20 it would be a straight shot thru Abilene and about 400+ miles more to ElPaso, but without schedule info there is no telling what times the bus arrives in each city. Busses are SLOW. Too many stops, lay-overs, etc.

Dare I call the local station and inquire about arrivals from Shreveport?

According to reports I saw on cable news this morning, the sheriff thinks he could be dangerous when confronted and he might not go quietly. :chicken:
He was basing his opinion on the evidence of the level of violence he saw in the home where the victim was murdered.

I specifically stated that My post was not to insult you - I found issue with your viewpoint, not you personally, I do not know you therefore I can't say anything about you ^^.

I am noone in the big scheme of things, please do not go back into lurker mode on my account. But there is a no blaming the victim rule and while certainly unintentioned, IMO it was leaning that way.

Hi Littledeer, L will not kill himself, he'll let LE do that, so insurance will pay off, just my opinion.

Being a newcomer as far as posting for the first time, I can see how Jinx might have scared you with her post. It also happened to me the first time I posted. But then I realized, it wasn't directed at "me" personally, but to what I had posted which meant that I had something worth while to post for them to reply to.
